As I explained in the OD comment section, I have been in Atlanta this weekend taking care of a personal matter, so I haven’t had the time to fully digest all that has transpired over the past 24 hours. I did notice that Marcus had published Dylann Roof’s manifesto here. It came to light about an hour before I was wrapped up for the rest of the evening. I have since read through it and thought a lot about it.
The Nature of Spree Killers
The first thing that occurred to me is that I have read several of these “manifestos” over the years. The Unabomber published an elaborate manifesto in The New York Times and The Washington Post that ultimately led to his arrest, “Industrial Society & Its Future.” Last year, I stayed up all night reading the Supreme Gentleman Elliot Rodger’s manifesto, “My Twisted World: The Story of Elliot Rodger.”
Christopher Dorner, the former LAPD officer and “real world Django Unchained” had a 15,000 word manifesto that explained his actions, “My Last Resort.” Anders Behring Breivik in Norway published an enormous manifesto, “2083 – A European Declaration of Independence.” Frazier Glenn Miller didn’t publish a manifesto, but is using his criminal trial as a public platform to expose the GD KIKES. Seung-Hui Cho, the Virginia Tech shooter, also published a manifesto.
In Cho’s words, “You forced me into a corner and gave me only one option. The decision was yours.” As Elliot Rodger put it, “I didn’t want to die, but I would have no choice. Vengeance is the only path; all other paths had been closed shut. I thought it to be such a tragedy that I was actually going to wage war against women and all of humanity.” Dylann Roof, too, was also left with “no choice” but to launch his deadly attack.
I’m not surprised that another spree killer has published yet another manifesto or that that this manifesto has the same fingerprints of extreme individualism, self expression, morbid fantasy ideology, grandiosity, narcissism, and mental illness as its predecessors. It even came complete with a matching set of photos:
Sometimes spree killers don’t publish manifestos. We can only guess at their motivations. Adam Lanza, the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooter, is one example of this. In March, I was in Tennessee when I learned that Andreas Lubitz had deliberately crashed Germanwings Flight 9525 in the French Alps killing all 150 people onboard. We now know that Lubitz practiced the manoeuvre that crashed the plane on another flight.
Like Seung-Hui Cho and Adam Lanza and Dylann Roof, Andreas Lubitz was suffering from a mental illness and was taking prescription drugs for it. Lubitz isn’t around to tell his side of the story, but it is clear he wrestled with a persistent fantasy of crashing a plane and killing everyone on it. He chose to act out his morbid fantasy.
As some of you may recall, Ismaaiyl Brinsley had a morbid fantasy of his own which he announced on Instagram: putting “wings on pigs” and “pigs in a blanket” in retaliation for the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner. Echoing Elliot Rodger’s Day of Retribution, Brinsley, who also suffered from a mental illness, traveled to New York City where he assassinated two police officers last December.
In the cases of Brinsley and Lubitz, it has only been six months and three months respectively since the world was riveted by their grotesque fantasies coming true. Dylann Roof is enjoying his 15 minutes of fame. The attention of the American public will shift again whenever the next spree shooter seizes the national spotlight.
The SPLC and much of the media are fixated on Dylann Roof’s White Nationalist beliefs, his “radicalization,” and the influence the CofCC had on his beliefs. Law enforcement officials are investigating the manifesto which surfaced online yesterday and which appears to be real. We will assume it is authentic.
Let’s start unpacking the manifesto:
“I was not raised in a racist home or environment. Living in the South, almost every White person has a small amount of racial awareness, simply beause of the numbers of negroes in this part of the country. But it is a superficial awareness. Growing up, in school, the White and black kids would make racial jokes toward each other, but all they were were jokes. Me and White friends would sometimes would watch things that would make us think that “blacks were the real racists” and other elementary thoughts like this, but there was no real understanding behind it.
This is very familiar.
In much of the Deep South, there is a residual sense of White racial consciousness and an awareness of racial differences. I grew up in a similar environment in the Alabama Black Belt. I also attended an integrated school. As Dylann says, the sort of racial consciousness that exists in the Deep South is incoherent. Among other things, this is due to the public education system and the repression of theories of racial differences in the “mainstream.”
“The event that truly awakened me was the Trayvon Martin case. I kept hearing and seeing his name, and eventually I decided to look him up. I read the Wikipedia article and right away I was unable to understand what the big deal was. It was obvious that Zimmerman was in the right. But more importantly this prompted me to type in the words “black on White crime” into Google, and I have never been the same since that day.
In my case, the awakening experience was reading Pat Buchanan’s book The Death of the West in 2001. I have never been the same since that day. The trajectory of our civilization is always on my mind. I also grew concerned about it and started to educate myself. Unlike Dylann, I graduated from high school and went to college where I earned a bachelor’s degree in political science.
“The first website I came to was the Council of Conservative Citizens. There were pages upon pages of these brutal black on White murders. I was in disbelief. At this moment I realized that something was very wrong. How could the news be blowing up the Trayvon Martin case while hundreds of these black on White murders got ignored?”
The first White Nationalist website that I discovered was Stormfront in 2001. At the time, I was more interested in immigration, affirmative action, and reparations for slavery. Among other things, I also came to learn about black-on-white violent crime. Unlike Dylann, I eventually joined the Council of Conservative Citizens, met Gordon Baum, married his daughter and became friends in real life with Kyle Rogers, who runs the CofCC website. I’m now a member of the CofCC Board of Directors. I personally know its leadership in real life. We all share Dylann’s concerns about how the media downplays black-on-white crime while giving enormous attention to white-on-black crime.
From this point I researched deeper and found out what was happening in Europe. I saw that the same things were happening in England and France, and in all the other Western European countries. Again I found myself in disbelief. As an American we are taught to accept living in the melting pot, and black and other minorities have just as much right to be here as we do, since we are all immigrants. But Europe is the homeland of White people, and in many ways the situation is even worse there. From here I found out about the Jewish problem and other issues facing our race, and I can say today that I am completely racially aware.
I have no doubt this is true.
This was also my own experience: I grew concerned about illegal immigration and affirmative action in the United States, but I later came to realize that the problems we are facing here in the United States are affecting the entire Occident. And yes, we are also taught that the US is a “melting point” and that White people should treat everyone equally and as “individuals,” but simultaneously we are taught the corollary that the majority culture is illegitimate while minority subcultures are legitimate and should be preserved and publicly celebrated.
We are taught that race doesn’t exist, but White people should feel guilty about their race. We are taught that White people benefit from “white privilege” and that minorities are oppressed by systemic racism. Yet this is hard to square with a world where non-Whites, not actual white supremacists, are in a position of leadership, disproportionately benefit from taxation and public spending, and a mainstream culture in which no one is more detested than “White racists” and no one more celebrated than Martin Luther King. This line of inquiry also eventually brought me to awareness of the Jewish Question.
I think it is is fitting to start off with the group I have the most real life experience with, and the group that is the biggest problem for Americans.
I also have more real world experience with blacks than any other group. Unlike Dylann, I have mixed views about blacks: my experiences with them have generally been positive. I’m accustomed to black people. I have lived around black people my entire life. I believe I have a realistic view of their strengths and weaknesses.
In light of the evidence, I don’t believe in racial equality. I don’t believe that blacks are capable of maintaining a European standard of civilization. For this reason, I don’t believe that blacks should rule Whites, which is a separate question from whether or not they should be harmed. Modern liberals have difficulty grasping the traditional Southern view of blacks which combined race realism with inequality and paternalism. Traditionally, most Southerners have liked “their black people” while at the same time recognizing the importance of racial distinctions and harboring no overwhelming animus toward them.
“Niggers are stupid and violent. At the same time they have the capacity to be very slick. Black people view everything through a racial lense. Thats what racial awareness is, its viewing everything that happens through a racial lense. They are always thinking about the fact that they are black. This is part of the reason they get offended so easily, and think that some thing are intended to be racist towards them, even when a White person wouldnt be thinking about race. The other reason is the Jewish agitation of the black race.Black people are racially aware almost from birth, but White people on average dont think about race in their daily lives. And this is our problem. We need to and have to. “
This is a half truth.
Criminals are disproportionately black, but most black people are not criminals. Black people are less intelligent on average than White people. They are far more racially conscious than White people. They are easily offended. Also, Jews have been heavily involved in black racial politics since the formation of the NAACP.
Say you were to witness a dog being beat by a man. You are almost surely going to feel very sorry for that dog. But then say you were to witness a dog biting a man. You will most likely not feel the same pity you felt for the dog for the man. Why? Because dogs are lower than men. This same analogy applies to black and White relations. Even today, blacks are subconsciously viewed by White people are lower beings. They are held to a lower standard in general. This is why they are able to get away with things like obnoxious behavior in public. Because it is expected of them.
Modern history classes instill a subconscious White superiority complex in Whites and an inferiority complex in blacks. This White superiority complex that comes from learning of how we dominated other peoples is also part of the problem I have just mentioned. But of course I don’t deny that we are in fact superior.”
Dylann starts to veer off into complete dehumanization here. He’s also reducing the complexity of black people into simple stereotypes. At the same time, he is right about how conceited White liberals view black people. They do not believe they are capable agents of their own destiny. Instead, black people are just pushed around by intractable social forces, and only their White saviors can help them.
I wish with a passion that niggers were treated terribly throughout history by Whites, that every White person had an ancestor who owned slaves, that segregation was an evil an oppressive institution, and so on. Because if it was all it true, it would make it so much easier for me to accept our current situation. But it isnt true. None of it is. We are told to accept what is happening to us because of ancestors wrong doing, but it is all based on historical lies, exaggerations and myths. I have tried endlessly to think of reasons we deserve this, and I have only came back more irritated because there are no reasons.
This is reminiscent of some of the things I have written at this website. Only about 6 percent of the slaves brought to the New World were brought to British North America. The average person has a wildly inaccurate view of American slavery. Generally speaking, American slaves reproduced at an incredible rate similar to that of the White colonists. Both Europeans and Africans reaped the benefits of a healthier diet in a virgin continent. American slaves also had a higher life expectancy than most contemporary Europeans. They tasks that American slaves performed were also no more arduous than European free laborers in various occupations in the Northern states. Compared to slavery in the Caribbean and Brazil, American slavery was little more than jumped up farming.
Segregation was also not as damaging to blacks as most people have commonly assumed. Public education in general for both blacks and Whites was “underfunded” in the South until well into the 20th century. Segregation nurtured black businesses that would have otherwise been destroyed by free market competition. It forced blacks of all classes to live together which suppressed the social deterioration of the black ghetto.
When Dylann says that he “wishes with a passion that niggers were treated terribly throughout history by Whites,” this is the morbid, thuggish, cold blooded side of his personality surfacing underneath a cogent analysis of a problem.
“Only a fourth to a third of people in the South owned even one slave. Yet every White person is treated as if they had a slave owning ancestor. This applies to in the states where slavery never existed, as well as people whose families immigrated after slavery was abolished. I have read hundreds of slaves narratives from my state. And almost all of them were positive.”
This is a well known fact which is accepted by mainstream historians. Also, it is true that white privilege theorists claim that all White people have benefited from systemic racism and unearned skin privilege, regardless of whether or not their ancestors were slaveowners or Confederates.
“One sticks out in my mind where an old ex-slave recounted how the day his mistress died was one of the saddest days of his life. And in many of these narratives the slaves told of how their masters didnt even allowing whipping on his plantation.
The 1930s slave narratives also presented a more complex story of plantation life than the fictional Roots version of Southern history.
“Segregation was not a bad thing. It was a defensive measure. Segregation did not exist to hold back negroes. It existed to protect us from them. And I mean that in multiple ways. Not only did it protect us from having to interact with them, and from being physically harmed by them, but it protected us from being brought down to their level. Integration has done nothing but bring Whites down to level of brute animals. The best example of this is obviously our school system.”
Segregation was a means of preserving civilization in a multiracial environment. It was also a compromise. Jim Crow, which compromised the American ideals of liberty and equality for the sake of social order, was as far as the North was willing to let the South go in preserving social order.
“Now White parents are forced to move to the suburbs to send their children to “good schools”. But what constitutes a “good school”? The fact is that how good a school is considered directly corresponds to how White it is. I hate with a passion the whole idea of the suburbs. To me it represents nothing but scared White people running. Running because they are too weak, scared, and brainwashed to fight. Why should we have to flee the cities we created for the security of the suburbs? Why are the suburbs secure in the first place? Because they are White. The pathetic part is that these White people dont even admit to themselves why they are moving. They tell themselves it is for better schools or simply to live in a nicer neighborhood. But it is honestly just a way to escape niggers and other minorities.”

“But what about the White people that are left behind? What about the White children who, because of school zoning laws, are forced to go to a school that is 90 percent black? Do we really think that that White kid will be able to go one day without being picked on for being White, or called a “white boy”? And who is fighting for him? Who is fighting for these White people forced by economic circumstances to live among negroes? No one, but someone has to.”
I’ve written several times about White children, whose parents cannot afford to pay private school tuition, who are left behind as a small minority in Alabama’s public schools in places like Union Springs. The Alabama state legislature passed the Alabama Accountability Act in part to do something about this problem.
“Here I would also like to touch on the idea of a Norhtwest Front. I think this idea is beyond stupid. Why should I for example, give up the beauty and history of my state to go to the Norhthwest? To me the whole idea just parralells the concept of White people running to the suburbs. The whole idea is pathetic and just another way to run from the problem without facing it.”
More than anything else, this argument makes me wonder if Dylann was reading this website. I’ve said the same thing for years now.
“Some people feel as though the South is beyond saving, that we have too many blacks here. To this I say look at history. The South had a higher ratio of blacks when we were holding them as slaves. Look at South Africa, and how such a small minority held the black in apartheid for years and years. Speaking of South Africa, if anyone thinks that think will eventually just change for the better, consider how in South Africa they have affirmative action for the black population that makes up 80 percent of the population.”
I’ve made the same point myself on this website. For a high school drop out, Dylann knows a great deal about South Carolina’s history.
“It is far from being too late for America or Europe. I believe that even if we made up only 30 percent of the population we could take it back completely. But by no means should we wait any longer to take drastic action.”
Perhaps this is a bit optimistic.
“Anyone who thinks that White and black people look as different as we do on the outside, but are somehow magically the same on the inside, is delusional. How could our faces, skin, hair, and body structure all be different, but our brains be exactly the same? This is the nonsense we are led to believe.”
Indeed, this is nonsense.
“Negroes have lower Iqs, lower impulse control, and higher testosterone levels in generals. These three things alone are a recipe for violent behavior. If a scientist publishes a paper on the differences between the races in Western Europe or Americans, he can expect to lose his job. There are personality traits within human families, and within different breeds of cats or dogs, so why not within the races?”
Dylann probably learned this at American Renaissance. The supreme irony in this tragic shooting is that he chose to emulate the violent, thuggish behavior of black murderers who have a callous disregard for the value of human life. In fact, some of the photos he posted on his website are more reminiscent of Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown than George Zimmerman or Darren Wilson. Maybe this has something to do with the paradox that Dylann had so many black friends on Facebook.
“A horse and a donkey can breed and make a mule, but they are still two completely different animals. Just because we can breed with the other races doesnt make us the same.
Apparently, modern humans interbred with Neanderthals, who were until recently thought to be a different species.
“In a modern history class it is always emphasized that, when talking about “bad” things Whites have done in history, they were White. But when we lern about the numerous, almost countless wonderful things Whites have done, it is never pointed out that these people were White. Yet when we learn about anything important done by a black person in history, it is always pointed out repeatedly that they were black. For example when we learn about how George Washington carver was the first nigger smart enough to open a peanut.”
This is a well known multiculturalist double standard. It is reflected in SJW produced curriculums in American public schools.
“On another subject I want to say this. Many White people feel as though they dont have a unique culture. The reason for this is that White culture is world culture. I dont mean that our culture is made up of other cultures, I mean that our culture has been adopted by everyone in the world. This makes us feel as though our culture isnt special or unique. Say for example that every business man in the world wore a kimono, that every skyscraper was in the shape of a pagoda, that every door was a sliding one, and that everyone ate every meal with chopsticks. This would probably make a Japanese man feel as though he had no unique traditional culture.”
As the old saying goes, a fish doesn’t feel wet when it is swimming in water. There are a number of assumptions that White people take for granted which are a product of their own culture. Tragically, these assumptions have broken down in places like sub-Saharan Africa with disastrous results.
“I have noticed a great disdain for race mixing White women within the White nationalists community, bordering on insanity it. These women are victims, and they can be saved. Stop.”
Dylann correctly blames the culture and environment in which White women are being raised instead of blaming women in general for miscegenation.
Unlike many White naitonalists, I am of the opinion that the majority of American and European jews are White. In my opinion the issues with jews is not their blood, but their identity. I think that if we could somehow destroy the jewish identity, then they wouldnt cause much of a problem. The problem is that Jews look White, and in many cases are White, yet they see themselves as minorities. Just like niggers, most jews are always thinking about the fact that they are jewish. The other issue is that they network. If we could somehow turn every jew blue for 24 hours, I think there would be a mass awakening, because people would be able to see plainly what is going on.
This is a thoughtful analysis of the Jewish Question – the problem is Jewish identity, not Jewish DNA – but then it quickly veers into morbid fantasy and genocidal exterminationism.
“I dont pretend to understand why jews do what they do. They are enigma.”
If Jews are White, then why are they anti-White? The answer is Jewish identity and historical Jewish animus against European Christians. Dylann has thought far less about Jews than blacks.
Hispanics are obviously a huge problem for Americans. But there are good hispanics and bad hispanics. I remember while watching hispanic television stations, the shows and even the commercials were more White than our own. They have respect for White beauty, and a good portion of hispanics are White. It is a well known fact that White hispanics make up the elite of most hispanics countries. There is good White blood worht saving in Uruguay, Argentina, Chile and even Brasil.
But they are still our enemies.
Again, Dylann shows a remarkable familiarity with Latin America for a high school drop out. He has a more nuanced view of Hispanics. Sure, they are different from Europeans, but not to the same degree as Africans.
I have great respent for the East Asian races. Even if we were to go extinct they could carry something on. They are by nature very racist and could be great allies of the White race. I am not opposed at all to allies with the Northeast Asian races.
Like Jared Taylor and American Renaissance, Dylann is very fond of East Asians and looks to China, Korea and Japan to carry on the torch of civilization after the demise of the West.
I hate the sight of the American flag. Modern American patriotism is an absolute joke. People pretending like they have something to be proud while White people are being murdered daily in the streets. Many veterans believe we owe them something for “protecting our way of life” or “protecting our freedom”. But im not sure what way of life they are talking about. How about we protect the White race and stop fighting for the jews. I will say this though, I myself would have rather lived in 1940?s American than Nazi Germany, and no this is not ignorance speaking, it is just my opinion. So I dont blame the veterans of any wars up until after Vietnam, because at least they had an American to be proud of and fight for.
Southern Nationalists also dislike the sight of the American flag. It symbolizes to us everything we dislike about the contemporary American proposition nation. Unlike Dylann, I am not of the view that the US flag should be desecrated. I have several military veterans in my family. As much as I disagree with the Vietnam War or the Iraq War, I don’t believe in denigrating or disrespecting American veterans. I don’t advocate destroying Vietnam War memorials even though the Vietnam War was an evil, American imperialist crusade.
To take a saying from a film, “I see all this stuff going on, and I dont see anyone doing anything about it. And it pisses me off.”. To take a saying from my favorite film, “Even if my life is worth less than a speck of dirt, I want to use it for the good of society.”.
This is by far the most interesting part of the manifesto. Until here, Dylann has explained why he became a White Nationalist with only glimmers of why he became a murderer.
Dylan sees what we have labeled here as the “e-movement.” He also recognizes that the e-movement does nothing but talk on the internet. However, after deciding to take action and stand up for White people, it never occurs to him to seek out likeminded people in South Carolina, to join an organization like the CofCC which draws attention to black-on-white crime, or to work to advance his cause in a practical, realistic, and moral way. He never makes an effort to reach out to anyone. He only confides his plans in his trailer park friends who are unaffiliated with the White Nationalist movement.
“I have no choice. I am not in the position to, alone, go into the ghetto and fight. I chose Charleston because it is most historic city in my state, and at one time had the highest ratio of blacks to Whites in the country. We have no skinheads, no real KKK, no one doing anything but talking on the internet. Well someone has to have the bravery to take it to the real world, and I guess that has to be me.”
Dylann has chosen to resort to violence, but is practical only in the sense of choosing a soft target for his shooting spree. At this point in the manifesto, the mental illness from which he is suffering, his morbid fantasies of race war, his fanaticism, lack of character, violent tendencies, narcissism, and grandiosity become KEY to his actions. He seem to be in a manic frame of mind in his belief that he can singlehandedly ignite a race war. Besieged, he cannot see any other “choice.” After all, having never reached out to anyone, there is no leader around to show him a better way.
“Unfortunately at the time of writing I am in a great hurry and some of my best thoughts, actually many of them have been to be left out and lost forever. But I believe enough great White minds are out there already.
Please forgive any typos, I didn’t have time to check it.
Dylann is in a great rush to complete his mission. He’s too busy to complete the manifesto. Tragically, no one else was reportedly aware of his mission except his roommate, who knew about it for six months, and his trailer park friends, who did nothing to talk him out of it or to alert the authorities.
It’s obvious that Dylann Roof shares a great many of my own beliefs. I’m disturbed by the possibility that he could have been reading my website. Honestly, I had never heard of him before he went on his shooting spree, but I won’t rule out the possibility that he was a closeted lurker or manifested somewhere in the White Nationalist world under an anonymous pseudonym. Perhaps this will come out at some point, but with tens of thousands of anonymous users out there, he could have been anyone.
While Dylann Roof shared many of our beliefs, he didn’t share either our character or our mindset, and that factor proved to be the decisive in Charleston. In this respect, he was much more similar to other spree killers who didn’t share his politics, values, or ethnicity. As a lone wolf, he was an extreme individualist who was unbound by morality and took the law into his own hands. He published a manifesto and used the bodies of his victims to express his morbid fantasies of race war. Suffering from a mental illness, he was prone to violent outbursts and grandiose solutions.
Change the circumstances of his upbringing in South Carolina and Dylann Roof could have just as easily been Elliot Rodger, Ismaaiyl Brinsley or Seung-Hui Cho. The American Left can’t accept the possibility that some people are just evil and that this rather than the Confederate flag or their beliefs is why they do what they do.
