Poll: American Optimism Drops By 20 Points Since May

I can’t say that I am surprised.

This is exactly what I said would happen when Joe gave his Joint Address to Congress in April. As COVID fades as an issue, I said that Biden would run into a wall in the Senate as concerns about immigration, crime, inflation and other issues which are unfavorable to Democrats began to spike.

ABC News:

“President Joe Biden at 100 days was celebrating a big legislative win and a bigger potential win for the nation.

Confidence that the pandemic was coming to an end was feeding a national optimism about the year ahead — a sentiment shared by 64% of Americans in an ABC News/Ipsos poll.

Biden at six months is fearing massive legislative paralysis as well as a potential resurgence of COVID-19. Optimism about the next 12 months has plummeted nearly 20 points in the latest iteration of that poll.

Concerns about the delta variant are only part of the story. Crime, immigration, inflation — all are mixing into a potentially toxic political stew for Biden and Democrats as they seek unity and some critical broader deals in the days ahead. …”

It turns out that it is worse than that.

ABC News:

“As President Joe Biden completed 100 days in office, the country was optimistic about the coming year, but now, just after hitting the six-month mark, Americans’ optimism about the direction of the country has plummeted nearly 20 points, a new ABC News/Ipsos poll finds.

A majority — 55% — of the public say they are pessimistic about the direction of the country, a marked change from the roughly one-third (36%) that said the same in an ABC News/Ipsos poll published May 2. In the early May survey, Americans were more optimistic than pessimistic by a 28-percentage point margin. Optimism is now under water by 10 points. Looking ahead to the next 12 months, fewer than half — 45% — now report feeling optimistic about the way things are going, a significant drop from about two-thirds (64%) in the May poll.

The decline in optimism has occurred across the board among Democrats, Republicans and independents. Optimism is down about 20 points among Democrats and Republicans and down 26 points among independents. Among Democrats, about 7 in 10 (71%) now say they are optimistic about the direction of the country over the next 12 months. …”

The Delta variant is the only thing that I didn’t anticipate.

I assumed that most people would get vaccinated and anti-vaxxers wouldn’t and that COVID would just sputter out in high temperatures over the summer before returning to some degree in a smaller wave in the fall. Instead, the Delta variant is also infecting people who have been vaccinated!

July the 4th was supposed to be “Independence Day” from COVID. It was supposed to be over and done and an issue in the W column for Joe Biden like the economy. All he had to do was distribute the vaccines and blame Trump’s incompetence for the elderly Holocaust. Clearly, it is not going to be that easy for Joe. The media is also scaremongering and hyping the Delta variant due to their ratings collapse which is weighing him done because most people were led to believe that this was almost over.

  1. If I were Joe I’d knock talk of this Delta shit on the head. Soon enough Joe will be the face of Covid19 and the man most closely associated with the disease. He thinks it’s all over. If the Republicans are clever they could flip this narrative on its back. Joe is the miserable old sod who personifies the disease old frail morbid. Vaccines don’t exactly work like promised. We were hit with a leaked biological weapon and Joe was a disloyal private citizen who politically capitalised on the crisis. Other people can do so too.

  2. I call total bullshit as there is no f-ing way 45% of Americans are optimistic about our future under Biden.

  3. “covid” in never going away, they’re going to keep playing that hand as long as they can or as long as the sheep remain compliant.

  4. We need this shit slowed down a little with an election drubbing. While progressives distract you with the tranny shit (which is easily possible to fight, on a personal level, by homeschooling your kids and blocking social media), they are pouring third world subhumans in every town across the country. That’s not so easy to sidestep.

  5. Also remember that Anglin foresaw the endless new variants. He said they would keep cooking up new variants and endless vaccines and locking down entire countries cause one eighty year old died, and they are. The Covid bullshit is too useful and juicy to give up until they have the global warming schemes fully rolled out.

    • “Anglin foresaw the endless new variants”:

Anglin also “forsees” that the virus doesn’t even exist. He foresees that Covid cases are really just flu and common cold cases. He is science-illiterate, or he pretends to be so that he can relate to and get views and donations from the science-illiterate.

  6. Re: “The Delta variant is the only thing that I didn’t anticipate. I assumed that most people would get vaccinated”:

But most did not. ALABAMA now has the lowest vaccination rate of any state, with only about one third of the population and less than one percent of the children fully vaccinated – according to the CDC, which we know always INFLATES the number vaccinated by at least 5 to 10% to make the Biden administration’s vaccination policy look successful. So it will be “interesting” to see what happens next.

  7. HW,

Stupid question I’m sure but I just want to check in case: will you take money orders?

  8. Aaaand it literally says “money orders” under the donate bar at the bottom of the page. Lol. I’m an idiot. Payday is next week. Will send soon after

  9. I believe part of the pessimism is, the bullies and crybabies that gave us these lockdowns aren’t going to give up and go away We are not going to be allowed to go back to normal, the police state type assholes are going to go on forcing people to stay home and go on with mask wearing indefinitely. I was afraid they’d do this, find some excuse to keep the lockdowns going.

Why? I don’t know. If the vaccine works then you’re protected, what do you care if somebody else gets the vaccine or wears a mask?

The only thing i come up with is, these are leftist dildos, they live to pass phony moral judgment on everybody else, and order them around.

    • “ptimism about the direction of the country has plummeted nearly 20 points,”

Hehe, wait till the economy turns down , really down. We’re still in flush times, via the stimulus cks. Without stimulus cks, not good.

      • Re: “wait till the economy turns down , really down. We’re still in flush times”:

The U.S. will remain in flush times for as long as the U.S.’s global-imperialism global theft machine keeps working, as some of the stolen goods inevitably trickle down to the working class. If the Empire of the Almighty Dollar would ever lose its grip on the rest of the world, there would be no more trickle-down for the vast majority of the U.S. population.

If the U.S. fails, a transnational military and financial cabal could take its place and continue to parasitize real nations.

  10. President Irish Bastard’s popularity would skyrocket if he would just give $1000 in jewbux each month to every man, woman and child who make less than $200K.

      • “And you’d watch inflation soar”:

Which is how They take it all back again, and then some, no formal tax increase needed. Populist reformism is a mere temporary fix that never touches (in fact, it protects) the root of the problem.

No more appeasing the victims of exploitation with fake hand-outs, everything must be made free for the people!
