Poll: San Francisco Quality of Life Plunges

The people who destroyed San Francisco are packing their bags and moving to places like Boise to escape the crime, drug addicts, homeless people and the insane cost of everything there. The same dynamic is playing out in New York City and Portland which people are also leaving in droves.

San Francisco CBS:

“SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) — As San Francisco tries to bounce back from the devastating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, crime and homelessness now rank among the highest levels of concerns among local residents, many who are contemplating relocating, according to a new poll.

It found that more than 40 percent say they plan to move out of the city in the next few years. …

80% of residents say crime has worsened in recent years, 70% feel that quality of life has declined, and 88% say homelessness has worsened.

76% also believe that increasing the number of police officers in high crime neighborhoods should be a high priority. …

An overwhelming 82% of those polled said they’d like to see more caseworkers on the streets to help people with mental illness and substance use problems.

Nearly 75% supported more temporary shelter for homeless people. …”

In Sacramento, homelessness is also spiraling out of control.

FOX News:

Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg has proposed a “right to housing” as the California homeless crisis continues to grow more severe.

The state has around 161,000 people struggling with homelessness, and the state’s leadership is coming up short with answers. As the most populous state, California has the highest number of homeless people, according to government statistics: The state also boasts the fourth-highest rate of homeless per capita in the U.S.

Steinberg announced a plan Wednesday, during his State of the City address, that he believes will help his city and the state at large to better tackle the crisis: A “right to housing” along with an “obligation” for homeless people to accept shelter when offered. …”

In Oakland, a television news crew was recently robbed on camera while interviewing Oakland’s “director of violence prevention” in front of Oakland City Hall. This is the second time it has happened. Earlier this year, Oakland made news for experimenting with Woke Basic Income.

San Francisco Chronicle:

“Two armed robbers held up a television news crew that was interviewing Oakland’s director of violence prevention outside City Hall on Monday afternoon, just hours after the police chief warned of worsening crime amid cuts to the police budget.

Oakland police reported that the two suspects approached the newscasters at 3:09 p.m. and tried to steal a camera. After a scuffle, a security officer pulled out a gun and ordered the suspects to leave. They fled without the camera. No injuries were reported.

A statement from the Police Department described the incident but did not identify Guillermo Cespedes, head of the city’s Department of Violence Prevention, as a victim. …”

The Oakland Chief of Police was nearly in tears the other day saying that violent crime is now spiraling out of control after the Oakland City Council voted to “Defund the Police.” San Francisco also voted to “Defund the Police” during the George Floyd mania. They’re now furiously backpeddling.

Newsweek:

“The police chief in Oakland, California, is warning that crime is “out of control” in the city after City Council members approved a budget cut stripping $17.4 million from the police department and directing the money elsewhere.

“I’m challenged by the decisions that were made on Thursday around the budget for the city of Oakland, particularly for the Oakland Police Department,” Chief LeRonne Armstrong said at a Monday news conference.

“We find ourselves in a crisis,” he added. “We find ourselves reeling from a weekend of violence, where we’ve seen four homicides over a three-day period. It now has us currently at 65 homicides for the year—a 90 percent increase compared to last year.” …”

A year ago, San Francisco and Oakland along with Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Portland, Seattle and New York City were at the forefront of the “Defund the Police” movement.

SFGate:

“It’s been scrawled across the pavement in front of government buildings in bright yellow paint, etched into cardboard signs and poster boards as a rallying cry during protests and addressed as a possibility in countless city council meetings.

“Defund the police.” …

The objective, commonly summed up with the controversial phrase, has both ardent fans and detractors here in California. Yet, four of the biggest cities in the Bay Area — San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley and San Jose — are all heeding calls to defund in different ways. …

San Francisco currently spends roughly 10% of its $6 billion annual budget on its police force. But following demonstrations, Mayor London Breed and other city officials announced an effort to cut a portion of that funding, though it’s still unclear just how much money will end up being diverted to other programs and what those programs might do. …

On Tuesday evening, Oakland officials approved the formation of a new public safety task force that would move the city closer to defunding the police department’s budget by 50%, or nearly $150 million. It’s a striking measure that would be implemented over the next two years through recommendations from the Reimagining Public Safety Task Force, which proposes that the city invests in various community resources in lieu of police responders.

Following a unanimous 8-0 vote by City Council, the resolution aims to increase citywide safety by providing alternatives to 911 calls. …”

Exactly one year ago, Black Lives Matter activists painted this mural on the street outside of San Francisco City Hall. It appears that politicians caving to their radical demands has consequences.

Note: While violent crime is going up in California, the White share of victims is declining. It is mostly young urban blacks who are paying with their lives for the policy preferences of progressive activists. You will never hear their names because their deaths can’t be used to drive narratives.

  1. I’m sure it’s just a coincidence Black Rock, the new “Federal Reserve”, is buying up property in these same areas people are fleeing to. I’m also sure they aren’t using homeless to drive whites out of these cities. That would just be a conspiracy theory and anti-Semitic canard. Homelessness can never be solved or even addressed as with crime. It’s like the Universe. It is because it do!

    • It’s also a coincidence that (((Bloomberg))) ran, at the same time, an article about how renting is better than owing anyway. Let the Jew own for you, goy. Put the heavy burden of ownership on his hook nose and just sign your monthly rent checks for all eternity.

  2. I’m getting mixed signals about the Outer Banks this summer? Have the Blacks, Latrinos and COVID put a damper on things? Rentals up or down?

  3. Darrell Steinberg, sigh.

    Early life…
“Born in San Francisco to a Jewish family,”

    Yep, sure enough.

Btw, Boise used to be a very nice, very white area to live in, but they’ve stuffed it with rapefugees and violent crime is skyrocketing. The point is that there will be no city left as a refuge, and this is by design. They’ll put a section 8 apartment complex for Africans in Libby, MT, if they can get away with it.

What do you think the ‘infrastructure bill’ has in it ?

    • Boise State got threatened with budget cuts unless they dialed back the “woke” agenda a bit. Might still be hope for Idaho in general. Washington schools are already teaching CRT.

  4. This isn’t new, industrial cities have been declining for decades. This is what happens when industry is sent overseas, the black underclass is put in charge, not mention mass immigration from shitopia

    • “industrial cities have been declining for decades.”

Yes, ever since factories were forcefully ‘integrated’.
American cars went to sh , in the 70s.

    • In the case of Detroit they were bussed in from the South as all the white workers were drafted to go die for bankers. Dying was their service. The only other objective was to free up Palestine for genocide and conquest.

  5. San Fran Sicko has been declining for decades. Soon, if not there already it will be worse than a 3rd world city.

    • 43 year old Russian explorer Rezanov visited Catholic SAN FRANCISCO in 1806 to establish trade, recognition and diplomatic relations for the new Russian colony, and decided he wanted to marry the 15 year old daughter of the Spanish governor. But he had to return to Moscow to seek the Tsar’s permission to marry a Roman Catholic. He died on the return trip in the middle of Siberia, and the teenage girl who waited for him eventually became a nun. Spain continued to contest the Russian land claim for what is now northern California, and the U.S. was also exploring and beginning to claim the Pacific northwest.

  6. The UK gave up Oregon and Washington under Polk (I think it was Polk). Strange deal that was. The reality is Western Washington is shit real estate except for lumber. Eastern Washington hadn’t been irrigated yet so maybe the Brits didn’t care.

  7. “While violent crime is going up in California, the White share of victims is declining. It is mostly young urban blacks who are paying with their lives for the policy preferences of progressive activists”

GOOD. Now, if only the niggers would also start killing kikes & pale-pelted race traitors, we could dance the ironic hora.
