The Land of Douglas

I recently came across this.

I’ve always known this and have written about it before, but this is worth sharing in light of the demographic dominance of Illinois by Lori Lightfoot’s Chicago.

The following excerpt comes from Michael Kazin’s book, A Godly Hero: The Life of William Jennings Bryan:

“A biracial society and a religiously diverse one also lay off in the future. Although the slave state of Missouri began just seventy miles west of town, across the broad Mississippi, Silas Bryan and his neighbors seldom needed to police a color line. The antebellum Illinois constitution barred blacks from entering the state, and subsequent laws prescribed stiff penalties for hiring them. The year Abraham Lincoln was elected president, census takers found only nine black people living in all of Marion County.”

Blacks weren’t citizens of Illinois and had to post a bond to enter the state.

NBC Chicago:

“Illinois can claim the distinction of the first Senate race between two black candidates. In 2004, Barack Obama defeated Alan Keyes with 70 percent of the vote. But we’ve also had some uniquely racist contests. The 1858 election, which was the most famous Senate race in American history and propelled Abraham Lincoln to the presidency, featured both candidates competing over who would do the best job of keeping blacks out of Illinois, and preventing intermarriage between the races. …

So Douglas ran an all-out racist campaign. He accused Lincoln of plotting to free slaves all over the United States, and allowing them to settle in Illinois.

During a speech at the state fair in Centralia, Douglas harped on what he called the “unfortunate odor” of the race he persistently referred to derisively and asked his listeners whether they were prepared to “to eat with, ride with, go to church with, travel with [Negroes], and in other ways bring Congo odor into their nostrils.”

Douglas also played on the ultimate fear of opponents of race-mixing: black men marrying white women. Before a debate with Lincoln in Galesburg, young women supporting Douglas wore dresses embroidered with the motto “White Men or None.” In Charleston, Douglasites carried a banner depicting a white man standing with a black woman, under the motto “Negro Equality.”

Lincoln, who was suspected of abolitionism by many moderates, was back-footed by Douglas’s accusations that he favored racial equality. At first, he tried to accuse Douglas of promoting race mixing by enabling the spread of slavery. Where slavery existed, Lincoln said, the white and black races mingled “to an alarming degree. The Kansas-Nebraska Act and the Dred Scott decision were both part of “a conspiracy to Africanize the American continent.” …”

William Jennings Bryan was born in a White ethnostate … Illinois.

Stephen Douglas defeated Abraham “Africanus the I” Lincoln in that Illinois Senate race in 1858 by warning that the Republican Party intended to abolish slavery in the South, level all racial distinctions and unleash a tidal wave of free blacks into Illinois. In 2021, Juneteenth is replacing July the 4th and Illinois is being Africanized with the Juneteenth flag flying over the state capital in Springfield.

What if the Democratic Party hadn’t split over squatter sovereignty in 1860? How would American history have turned out if Stephen Douglas had won the presidency instead of his rival Abraham Lincoln?

Note: The flag raising ceremony below is actually in Philadelphia where the black liberation flag was raised to a chorus of black national anthem. BTW, the same people are against White Nationalism. For obvious reasons, black people favor their own race over ours and believe that should be the law.

  1. Is Illinois a land of Woke Dystopia’?

I really do not know, for every Illinoisian, whom I have ever met – that is not from the greater Chicago area – is not anything close to that.

In fact, more than a few, from the Southern part of the state see themselves as Confederates.

    • Ivan, I’m not from the south part of the state, I’m from the Heart of Illinois, right smack dab in the central part of the state. And in my area, we used to have a lot of sundown towns. Nigger welcome to our town, but don’t you let the sun go down was a common phrase used around these parts years ago. Also, the football, basketball, and baseball teams at the Pekin, Il. high school used to be called the Chinks. They even had skating rink called the Chink Rink.

      • @Stephen & Diversity…

I hear y’all loud and clear.

We are all in the same boat – Traditional Smalltown & Rural White Americans being puncht and stabbed daily by those metropolises in our midst, and the weak state governments that have allowed The United States Government, and the culture it spawns, to fester.

We’ll find our way out of this mess, of that I am sure.

Just watching Governor Santos send Floridian reinforcements to The Texas Border already shows more than a glint of grey in the offing on the horizon.

With just a few good leaders, we’ll put our backs and shoulders behind them ,and then The Devil, himself, will not prevail against us.

    • Yeah, it’s basically just Chicago. Just like most other “blue” states. Too many urbanite scum.

  2. Unfortunately Illinois has a majority of garbage citizens. The place was over run with blacks in the early 20th century. The black ratio is as high as a southern state. Places downstate like Decatur, Danville, Springfield, Urbana are huge ghettos. Then there is Chicago, now going the way of Detroit, soon to have it’s downtown business district abandoned due to lack of safety under the black lesbian mayor. Still, we used to have republican governors and lower taxes just a generation back. Wisconsin was known as the “high tax place” when I was growing up. The white suburbs and downstate whites used to over rule the corrupt city of Chicago. Then millions and millions of Mexicans, Hindus, Chinamen, etc descended on the state and tipped the balance and the human garbage now has total control over the state. I wonder if there are even 6 good men left in Chicago?

  3. “In the United States, a strategic alliance between liberals and leftists is the only way durable changes have ever been won … Abolitionists who joined the Republican Party drove Radical Reconstruction; union activists with socialist convictions helped make the Democrats a semblance of a labor party in big industrial states; the black freedom movement worked with white liberals to pass the Civil Rights and Voting Rights Acts.”

ALWAYS god damned kikes with the book deals & the jew-created awards, filtering & skewing OUR history.

  4. Would be nice to have a “Real Lincoln” series of films where ALL the Lincoln-Douglas debates were shown in their entirety with ALL the “positive” reactions from the audience when “racist” statements were made. Notice the “[applause]”, etc inserted in the transcription below.

At the fourth Lincoln-Douglas debate, held in Charleston, Illinois, September 18, 1858, transcript courtesy of the National Park Service:

“While I was at the hotel to-day, an elderly gentleman called upon me to know whether I was really in favor of producing a perfect equality between the [black] and white people. [Great Laughter.][ While I had not proposed to myself on this occasion to say much on that subject, yet as the question was asked me I thought I would occupy perhaps five minutes in saying something in regard to it. I will say then that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races, [applause]-that I am not nor ever have been in favor of making voters or jurors of [blacks], nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people; and I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the white and black races which I believe will forever forbid the two races living together on terms of social and political equality. And inasmuch as they cannot so live, while they do remain together there must be the position of superior and inferior, and I as much as any other man am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race. I say upon this occasion I do not perceive that because the white man is to have the superior position the [black] should be denied every thing. I do not understand that because I do not want a [black] woman for a slave I must necessarily want her for a wife. [Cheers and laughter.] My understanding is that I can just let her alone. I am now in my fiftieth year, and I certainly never have had a black woman for either a slave or a wife. So it seems to me quite possible for us to get along without making either slaves or wives of [blacks]. I will add to this that I have never seen, to my knowledge, a man, woman or child who was in favor of producing a perfect equality, social and political, between [blacks] and white men. . . . I will also add to the remarks I have made (for I am not going to enter at large upon this subject,) that I have never had the least apprehension that I or my friends would marry [blacks] if there was no law to keep them from it, [laughter] but as Judge Douglas and his friends seem to be in great apprehension that they might, if there were no law to keep them from it, [roars of laughter] I give him the most solemn pledge that I will to the very last stand by the law of this State, which forbids the marrying of white people with [blacks]. [Continued laughter and applause.]
    — Abraham Lincoln

So, there is the REAL supreme Yankee of all time — the founder of the Yankee Empire — fighting to keep blacks segregated (at least from other Northerners/Yankees).

The Union was not preserved 160 years ago but rather the former Union was replaced by the Yankee Empire and their captive Southern territories. The Southern states were unconstitutionally invaded, defeated, forced to free their slaves, forced to be held captive in a new union that was opposed to them, forced to be made an impoverished backward captive region to provide cheap raw materials and labor for the powerful North with no opportunity (so far) to escape.

    May God Save the South!

    • “The Southern states were unconstitutionally invaded, defeated, forced to free their slaves, forced to be held captive in a new union that was opposed to them, forced to be made an impoverished backward captive region to provide cheap raw materials and labor for the powerful North with no opportunity (so far) to escape.”

      You’re breaking my heart.

      • Yeah, the Jews sure have nothing on you. I will never forget you coming on OD just before Charlottesville putting down the South over slavery.

Read the Bible. Slavery is NOT a sin, Yankee.

        • Since I don’t remember exactly what I posted before Charlottesville, Banned for Life, I’m not sure you’re correct that I put down the South. What I did post, several times, was that Unite the Right was a Southern Nationalist event, not a White Nationalist event. At one point, I also raised the question whether White Nationalism had always been a sort of crypto-neo-Confederatism or Southern Nationalism. In connection with that possibility, I mentioned that Jared Taylor had at that time begun to seem to me a sort of crypto-neo-Confederate. One commenter—Silver, who still posts here occasionally—expressed sympathy with my view, since he, too, didn’t want pro-white sentiment to be coupled with pro-Confederate, i.e., pro-slavery, sentiment.

Whatever I might have said about the South at that time, pre-Charlottesville, my disdain for the Confederacy has been clear here, at Occidental Dissent, since well before that. In fact, my political stance is a negative, so to speak, of that of Mr. Wallace, our host. His loves are the Confederacy and socialism—or populism, as he prefers to call it. My own loves, as he has long known, are the opposite. Law, in my view, should never be inconsistent with a right not to associate and a right not to spend.

Having spent the first several decades of my life as a churchgoer, I have no time to spare for any reading of the Bible. I’m too busy trying to catch up on all the “knowledge of the world” that I, as a Christian, spent those decades disdaining. Much of that book strikes me as repulsive, frankly.

I will not again respond to any of your comments in which I am addressed as “Yankee,” you uncivilized thing.

          • “a right not to associate and a right not to spend”:

Some would say that means: being a lone-wolf individualist in society and refusing to share hoarded-up wealth and property with others.

“no time to spare for any reading of the Bible”:

The Bible has a lot of egalitarian, levelling content that clashes with the current culture of greed and “virtue of selfishness.” Epistle of James: “Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. Your riches are corrupted….”

          • But you were sowing discord among the Right at that time who were coming together and not focusing on their differences but joining together to defend Southern history. Have you ever seen the Left attack the radicals in their movement? Even to this day they will never go after Antifa/BLM/other anarchists when these radicals are burning, looting, destroying government and other property in plain sight with impunity. They only go after the Right with their trumped up over the top charges.

You appear to be a government troll controlled by the Swamp/SPLC/ADL.

The South was right. There was no language in the original Constitution forbidding secession or slavery. And there is no language in the Bible forbidding secession or slavery (and there is no language in the Bible promoting abolition.)

If the Confederacy had of won the war they would have expanded beyond their borders and become the greatest nation the world has ever known. On the other hand the North would have been financially ruined. The war was really all about money and power (surprise, surprise).

“Much of that book strikes me as repulsive, frankly.”

Homosexuals despise the Bible more than any others I have ever debated with. Watch out.

          • “Some would say that means: being a lone-wolf individualist in society and refusing to share hoarded-up wealth and property with others.”

I know, anonymous, that that’s what some persons would say—and their saying it is exactly the thing to which I object. It’s not anyone’s place to comment on the wealth of anyone else. I dislike, not incidentally, that use of the word “share.” It’s a use that is hardly rare in present-day America; and though I ignored it for many years, I was struck by it, not long ago, when it was in a comment from a communist who recently posted here, at Occidental Dissent, a number of times. “Sharing” has to do with a certain type of situation, such as, say, the discovery by two friends of a single doughnut, in the refrigerator, when they’ve decided to have a snack. if they have good manners, one of them will propose that they “share” it, and the other will agree. That has nothing to do with how, say, a millionaire chooses to spend his (legally-obtained) money. He’s not required to “share” it.

“The Bible has a lot of egalitarian, levelling content that clashes with the current culture of greed and ‘virtue of selfishness.’ Epistle of James: ‘Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. Your riches are corrupted….'”

Well, yes, that sort of thing is one of the things that bother me about that book. It’s destructive—spiritually destructive. It makes something ugly of wealth and prospering. They’re not ugly. That phrase “virtue of selfishness” bothers me, too. I’m pretty sure someone here commented, some months ago, that it was coined by Ayn Rand; and I might have responded that Rand, if she did, indeed, coin it, misrepresented her own views thereby. There’s nothing selfish about expecting the government to inhibit trespass and predation. I hold this truth to be self-evident: One has a right not to spend.

          • John Bonaccorsi…

“I also raised the question whether White Nationalism had always been a sort of crypto-neo-Confederatism or Southern Nationalism.”

As long as The United States, and it’s government, remained White Nationalist, then there was no need for non-Southern White Nationalists to be ‘Crypto-Confederates’ or ‘Neo-Southern Nationalists’, BUT, with the gradual transformation of The United States’ Government into something anti-White Nationalist, I think it has come to be that White Nationalists, not just here in this country, but, indeed, everywhere in The West, have become Confederate in nature.

If there is one thing that unites the vast spectrum of White Nationalists, it is that they want out of a centralized One World Order that they feel is suffocating them and theirs.

That so, they have no choice but to be ‘Confederates’, which, by the way, is what the overwhelming preponderance of the founders of this country were.

          • @Anonymous…

“The Bible has a lot of egalitarian, levelling content that clashes with the current culture of greed and “virtue of selfishness.”

            Very true.

However, it is also true that The Bible is a library of different books from different eras and that there is, in defiance of the Evangelical Fundamentalist assertion that there is not, a great deal of contradictory and countermanding things.

That is why I am unable to be a Protestant, because I need the filter of the Orthodox Church fathers, and, indeed, the liturgical, prayer, and fasting practices of our church to satisfy not only my spiritual needs, but, as well, my sense of unified mystery that The Bible, sad to say, and even more so a sola Scriptura faith practice, oft makes a wreck of.

This is a Southern Nationalist rally. Any non-Southerner who’ll attend it is confused.

            August 7, 2017 at 3:46 am

These are not history exhibits, Someguy. They are monuments. Anyone who attends this rally will be endorsing the Confederacy, endorsing its cause, which was slavery. If you attend it, then that’s what you’ll be doing.

            John Bonaccorsi, Philadelphia
            August 7, 2017 at 4:17 am

They are monuments to the Confederacy and are endorsements of its cause; and if you think Hunter Wallace, Michael Cushman, or any other Southern Nationalist associated with this website thinks otherwise, you are deluded.

At the last Charlottesville rally, a month or two ago, there broke out a chant of “CSA!” as I recall reading. I’ll be interested to see whether that will break out at this rally. There’s no reason it shouldn’t. I wonder how many Northerners in attendance will take up that chant, because, after all, “Lee was just a single person who was against slavery.” Any sane Northerner would be thinking, “What the fuck does ‘CSA’ mean, and why would I chant it?”

            John Bonaccorsi, Philadelphia
            August 7, 2017 at 4:27 am

PS I’m not sure now whether the “CSA!” chant was at the Charlottesville rally or another rally in support of a Confederate statue–maybe in New Orleans. Whichever it was my point stands.

            John Bonaccorsi, Philadelphia
            August 7, 2017 at 4:39 am

PPS Okay–this could very well be what I was recalling:

            https://twitter.com/occdissent/status/861378859291246593/photo/1?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailystormer.com%2Fbattle-of-new-orleans-live-stream%2F

Our host, Hunter Wallace, reports, in that tweet, that “CSA, CSA” was shouted by somebody against a counter-protester at a rally in support of a Confederate statue in New Orleans.

Though the Civil War ended more than a century-and-a-half-ago, Mr. Wallace, our host here, at Occidental Dissent–or someone he’s tweeting about–is still uttering a Confederate battle cry, at a rally in support of one of these statues; yet you expect me to be persuaded–as you’ve apparently persuaded yourself–that your attendance at this rally will signify nothing other than a civilized man’s opposition to “historical monuments being destroyed by hostile barbarians.”

          • “You were sowing discord and doubt about participating in the rally bc of slavery and the Confederacy. Only a gov’t troll would stoop to that.”

Having just now seen this post of yours, Banned for Life—1:41 PM, June 21—I’ll mention that I’d thought I’d responded to your previous post (of 4:37 PM, June 19). Maybe I did something wrong when I clicked “Post Comment,” because my reply, which I didn’t bother to recompose and resubmit, never showed up.

I see in this new post of yours that you’ve changed your wording a bit. You say I was “sowing discord and doubt about participating in the rally bc of slavery and the Confederacy.” In your earlier post, you said the following:

“But you were sowing discord among the Right at that time who were coming together and not focusing on their differences but joining together to defend Southern history. ”

In the reply of mine that didn’t show up, I wrote something like the following:

“I disagree completely. Southern Nationalism is not part of the right, and anyone who suggests the contrary is either naïve or dishonest.”

As long as I’m now restating and resubmitting that, I’ll go a bit farther: In my view, the attitude demonstrated by Mr. Wallace, our host, in the lead-up to Unite the Right was craven. To me, at least, it seemed obvious that he felt that, after a century-and-a-half of its getting nowhere, Southern Nationalism was securing, in a putative status as part of “the Right,” a viable place in American politics. Not very long before the event, if I’m recalling this correctly, he said—and I’m going by memory—the following:

“After Unite the Right, everything will be different.”

That turned out to be true, though not in the way Mr. Wallace, in his buoyant prophecy, had imagined. Had alt-Righters weighed my posts at that time—the posts you’ve gathered and posted—they might have avoided Unite the Right; and their movement, such as it was, might not have been brought down in ruin through its attachment to that Southern-fried clusterfuck, which is what I termed Charlottesville in a comment I posted here a day or two after the event. James Fields—is that his name?—might not be spending the rest of several lifetimes in prison.

Around that same lead-up time—and again, I’m trying to remember—I said, I’m pretty sure, that Southern Nationalism was not like the various European nationalisms and the like, that it was unique. Interestingly enough—I’m trying to remember this—Mr. Wallace himself, I’m pretty sure, stated that same thing, rather in imitation of me (whom he rarely imitates), in the wake of Charlottesville. The fiasco had forced him to try yet another route to a viable place for Southern Nationalism. (He’s still looking for it.)

As to your eagle-eyed conclusion that I’m a troll of some entity or another, I’ll say first, that I pay no attention to the SPLC and the ADL or any other groups that you and others here might prattle about; and second, that if those groups do, indeed, have trolls who post at blogs like this one, I rather regret I’m not one of them, because I could use the income.

In closing, I’ll mention that there was, in those alt-Right days, quite a bit of sniping posted here, I think, about various alt-Righters, sniping that qualified, I daresay, as discord-sowing of the kind with which you seem to be concerned. I personally gave that sniping as much attention as I give to the SPLC etc.

PS In case this doesn’t go without being said, I’ll note that my old comments you gathered and posted here are as I described them, from memory.

        • Slavery may not be a “sin” according to your almighty Yahweh, but it is foolish and undignified(for both owner and slave). It never ends well. Always ends in race-mixing and degradation of the higher race. If Lincoln hadn’t ended it, someone else eventually would have. So now we are saddled with these savages because of greed and short-sightedness. Africans are a harmful invasive species which wiser men would have forbidden from the North American continent.

          • When Christ returns in the future He will allow regathered Israel to take and possess servants once again. We have not seen the end of slavery as the “righteous” abolitionists believe.

            Isaiah 14:1-3
1 For the Lord will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.
2 And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and
THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL SHALL POSSESS THEM IN THE LAND OF THE LORD FOR SERVANTS AND HANDMAIDS: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.
3 And it shall come to pass in the day that the Lord shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve…

The North should have just allowed the South to leave if they really just wanted to get rid of slavery. This was their big chance. But the North would have been financially ruined.

The South paid 85% of the taxes and 75% of the tax money was being spent in the North.

Southerners seceded to govern themselves. They expected to live in peace, but Lincoln could not allow that and the reason was 100% economic.

If it wasn’t, Northerners like The Chicago Times would not have said things like:

In one single blow our foreign commerce must be reduced to less than one-half what it now is. Our coastwise trade would pass into other hands. One-half of our shipping would lie idle at our wharves. We should lose our trade with the South, with all its immense profits. Our manufactories would be in utter ruins. Let the South adopt the free-trade system, or that of a tariff for revenue, and these results would likely follow. If protection be wholly withdrawn from our labor, it could not compete, with all the prejudices against it, with the labor of Europe. We should be driven from the market, and millions of our people would be compelled to go out of employment

The Northern economy was largely based on manufacturing for the South and shipping Southern cotton…

Without the South, the North was dead economically.

Without the North, the South, with 100% control of King Cotton, would ascend to dominance in North America, and Lincoln knew it.

Southerners were already paying 85% of the taxes yet 75% of the tax money was being spent in the North. Secession meant turning all that money inward, back on the South.

Southerners wanted desperately to manufacture for themselves to get out from under the North’s inferior goods that were greatly overpriced because of tariffs. In the meantime Southerners could buy from Europe at much lower prices than they had been paying.

The Morrill Tariff, passed by greedy, economically ignorant Northerners in the U.S. Congress after the Cotton States seceded, raised the rate for entry into the North to as high as 60%, as compared to the South’s low 10% tariff for the operation of a small federal government in a States Rights nation. This threatened to shift the entire Northern shipping industry into the South overnight as Northern ship captains beat a path to the South where free trade reigned and protective tariffs were unconstitutional.

The loss to the North of their captive Southern manufacturing market, together with the damage to their shipping industry by the Morrill Tariff, was a one-two punch they would not be able to recover from. That’s before even considering the loss of the 85% of tax revenue the South had been paying…

With everything Southerners had to gain economically by independence, it is absurd to say they seceded to protect slavery.
            — Kizer, Jr.,Gene, “Robert E. Lee and Me”, Abbeville Institute, 04/06/2021

“It was necessary to put the South at a moral disadvantage by transforming the contest from a war waged against states fighting for their independence into a war waged against states fighting for the maintenance and extension of slavery…and the world, it might be hoped, would see it as a moral war, not a political; and the sympathy of nations would begin to run for the North, not for the South.”
            — President Woodrow Wilson, “A History of The American People”, page 231

Of the seven Cotton States that first seceded and formed the Confederacy, only four issued declarations of causes for their secession. In fact, those four declarations of causes were the only four issued by any of the 13 states represented in the Confederate Government…

The four declarations of causes do mention slavery along with numerous other grievances including economic, constitutional, and the hatred used by the North to rally its votes in the election of 1860.

That hatred was the primary reason for Southern secession. Northerners had supported murder and terrorism against the South. They had financed John Brown and sent him into the South to murder Southerners. He had hacked pro-South settlers to death in front of their families in Kansas.

Lincoln’s party also used Hinton Helper’s The Impending Crisis as a campaign document. They had hundreds of thousands of them printed and distributed coast to coast. It called for slave insurrection and the throats of Southerners to be cut in the night.

Would you allow people who hated your guts and were already at war with you to rule over you? What kind of stupid, cowardly people would do that? Certainly not Southerners.

            — Kizer article referred to above

So, it was the North who refused to allow their economic slave, the South, to escape.

God does allow slavery and it is not going away no matter what man tries to do.

          • No argument here. Short-sighted greed often leads to lasting disaster. The same greed that led the planters & kike slave dealers to bring nigger apes to this continent is burying us in wetbacks & dotheads today.

          …………………………………………………………………………..

For whatever it is worth, I have numerous ancestors who fought for Robert E. Lee, in The Army of Northern Virginia.

They were from Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia.

Though I never had the opportunity to speak with them, I know from the voices in my blood and the fact that not a one owned another man, and the fact that they were all dirt poor subsistence farmers from hill country, that they never fought for slavery.

Not that such would offend me, if they had fought for slavery, because I believe that slavery, as practicet by The South, during those times, was morally superior to the form of New England Yankee slavery we have today, and have had ever since; that system one in which people are paid a pittance, the slaves are renamed as ‘migrant labourers’, and the slavery redubbed as ‘Free Trade’.

No, I want to be clear – they all fought for one reason and one reason alone – to preserve White Southern Sovereignty over Southern lands.

On a final note, I would point out that my view is echoed by numerous Confederate leaders of that day, most famously General Joe Gordon of Georgia and President Jefferson Davis.

    • ‘Would be nice to have a “Real Lincoln” series of films where ALL the Lincoln-Douglas debates were shown in their entirety with ALL the “positive” reactions from the audience when “racist” statements were made.”

CSPAN did a series of reenactments of them all in the ’90s: period dress, historically correct cheers & laughter.

        • @Banned…

“We have not seen the end of slavery as the “righteous” abolitionists believe.”

You can be sure about that, what with slave labour not only everywhere in The United States (redubbed migrant labour) and all the cheap sweateshoppe slave labour goods (redubbed Free Trade) that we are all forcet to buy, since the vast percentage of our manufacturing sector was allowed to leave the country..

          • Migrant labor??? Do you have a clue? Most of them don’t work at all. Most of our produce is grown in Mexico now, not the USA.
They come here…bussed and driven here…to live off of us. They get on our Medicare and Social Security, too, if they are older, and NEVER PUT A CENT into it.

THE ONLY SLAVERY IN THE UNITED STATES RIGHT NOW —IS WHITE LABOR. WHITES WORKING LONG DAYS FOR MINIMAL PAY IN EVERY PROFESSION. OVERWORKED, UNDERPAID, AND HIGHLY TAXED, TO PROVIDE FOR THE BROWN MASSES.

            WAKE UP.

          • Dear Pilot,
I cannot tell you how many Latins I have known in my lifetime, and I have never known one adult, either male or female, who did not work, and work hard, at all the jobs our Negroes uset to do, for just as small a wage, if not smaller as our Negroes uset to do it for.

They, The Latins, do this and they usually live in substandard housing, with spotty medical care, no social security being accrued, and they cannot vote.

I do not know what you call that, but, I call it slavery.

People keep celebrating the end of slavery, and I think that they must be on LSD, because the only thing that has changed is which group are our slaves…

    • …There is no documentary record of Abraham Lincoln’s birth. Generally people have traced out every President’s origins back many generations and centuries, but for Lincoln almost nothing has been established even about grandparents. The accepted Lincoln story is a birth date of February 12, 1809 to parents Thomas Lincoln and his wife Nancy Hanks. The evidence for this was written in a newly purchased Bible by Lincoln himself more than forty years after the fact (1852—1853) when Lincoln’s political career was getting a new start.

In fact, Lincoln was born in Rutherford County in western North Carolina, the illegitimate child of the illegitimate servant girl Nancy Hanks and a prosperous married landowner Abraham Enloe. Abraham Lincoln was already a toddler when his mother married Thomas Lincoln in Kentucky.

Abraham never visited Thomas Lincoln after he left home. Thomas Lincoln was never introduced to Abraham’s wife and children. Abraham refused to attend Thomas’s deathbed or funeral. Thomas Lincoln was short, stocky, and somewhat lethargic, while Abraham was notable for his height, long arms and legs, and energy. Neither the Hankses nor the Lincoln family had ever shown any above average intelligence or enterprise.

Enter Abraham Enloe who was a successful man for his time and place, as were his forebears on both sides. In fact, he owned a few slaves. White marshals exhaustive material for his case, most of which I am leaving for the reader.

Two things convince me. Comparing a photo of Abraham and his probable half-brother Wesley Enloe. They never met but both have the unusually long arms and legs that everyone noticed about Lincoln. The second thing is that everybody who has studied Lincoln knows about his ruthless, relentless, and devious political ambition. Covering up illegitimacy was natural for such a man. Even if fear of disclosure perhaps had less influence on Lincoln’s conduct than the author thinks.

An illegitimate man “winning” an election with no support from the South, ignoring the Constitution calling for volunteers from other states to wage an illegitimate war (calling the South’s action a rebellion and not secession) to force the seceded states into a new illegitimate union — the Yankee Empire dominated by the self-righteous North, with the South as conquered territory.

This illegitimate “nation” is against God! Both major political parties promote the capital sin of homosexuality! (Notice that slavery is not and never was a sin!) This illegitimate union, the Yankee Empire, is on its way down and will probably be nuked out of existence (by whom? Russia, China, or both?, I believe it will be Germany, but whoever — God will raise up someone to do the job after a most severe drought in the land) for all of the sins being embraced by those cut off from God.

      May God Save the South!

      • “This illegitimate union, the Yankee Empire, is on its way down and will probably be nuked out of existence (by whom? Russia, China, or both?, I believe it will be Germany, but whoever ”

You continue to prove your lack of intelligence. How is Germany, a ZOG puppet state which does not possess nuclear weapons or have the means to deliver them, going to nuke the “Yankee Empire” out of existence?

  5. @Banned…

“The Union was not preserved 160 years ago but rather the former Union was replaced by the Yankee Empire and their captive Southern territories.”

Never a truer things has been said, Sir.

When we want, however, we’ll change that.

It’s just a question of time before we see our banners terrify them again.

  6. Dishonest Abe might have PARTIALLY redeemed himself if he’d held to his stated desire to ship the freed niggers out, ending once & for all the worst, most short-sighted blunder in the White history of this continent – but of course, immediately after his victory he went back on that, declaring that nigger vets would be allowed to vote, which impelled the enraged JWB to write in his diary: “This means nigger citizenship, By God, I’ll put him through.”

Abie Baby richly deserved to have his goddamn brains blown out; still, the fact that he got justice would prove to be a hugely-expensive catastrophe for the South. And maybe those who say he was snuffed by bankster kikes because of his debt-free greenbacks have something, IDK,

      • No, it’s just too bad the Union military wasn’t as vicious as Southerners—in an effort to explain their defeat—constantly whine that it was. That would have been a problem solved.

        • I am coming from the perspective that a lot of White blood could have been spared. That war wasn’t worth it. They should have been allowed to separate. Perhaps the rest of the country would have quite a few less blacks in it even now.

        • Next to the kikes, your kind are the problem. Anyway, it’s not really your history, Gianni-come-lately.

          • You’re right, NBF. The story of how Aryans botched the settling of North America—the greatest opportunity they’d ever been presented—is not really my history.

As a 75 year old native of NY living in SC said to some of your beloved Yankee hero Union invaders he was examining after they had been caught by Confederate Militia:

“The other day you were tigers—you are sheep now.”

“A System of Torture Was Practiced”

Dr. John Bachman (1790- 1874) was a naturalist of international reputation and a beloved Lutheran clergyman. He was a native of the state of New York and was called to the pulpit of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Charleston in 1815. A friend of the renowned naturalist John James Audubon, Bachman collaborated with him to produce The Viviparous Quadrupeds of North America (published in three volumes, 1845-49), providing much of the scientific data that informed Audubon’s beautiful paintings. Bachman authored numerous books on science and religion, served as the professor of Natural History at the College of Charleston from 1848 to 1853 and helped to found Newberry College, as well as the Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia. In December 1860, he was one of the ministers chosen to offer the opening prayer at South Carolina’s Secession Convention. He regretted the dissolution of the Union but thought that it was better for the two sections of the country to separate, like Abraham and Lot, when they could no longer live together in peace.

When General Sherman’s army invaded Cheraw, South Carolina, Dr. Bachman was in the area, staying at a place called Cash’s Depot, and about six months later, he wrote a lengthy letter about all that he saw and experienced there. The following is an excerpt from his letter dated September 14,1865:

I witnessed the barbarities inflicted on the aged, the widow, and young and delicate females. Officers, high in command, were engaged tearing from the ladies their watches, their ear and wedding rings, the daguerreotypes of those they loved and cherished. A lady of delicacy and refinement, a personal friend, was compelled to strip before them, as they might find concealed watches and other valuables under her dress. A system of torture was practiced toward the weak, unarmed, and defenseless, which, as far as I know and believe, was universal throughout the whole course of that invading army. Before they arrived at a plantation, they inquired the names of the most faithful and trusted servants; they were immediately seized, pistols were presented at their heads; with the most terrific curses, they were threatened to be shot if they did not assist them in finding buried treasures. If this did not succeed, they were tied up and cruelly beaten. Several poor creatures died under the infliction. The last resort was that of hanging… They were strung up until life was nearly extinct, when they were let down, suffered to rest awhile, then threatened and hung up again. It is not surprising that some should have been left hanging so long that they were taken down dead. But it was not alone the poor blacks (to whom they professed to come as liberators) that were thus subjected to torture and death. Gentlemen of high character… gray-headed, unconnected with the military, were dragged from their he Ids or their beds, and subjected to this process of threats, beating, and hanging. Along the whole track of Sherman’s army, traces remain of the cruelty and inhumanity practiced on the aged and defenseless. Some of those who were hung up died under the rope, while their cruel murderers have not only been left unreproached and unhung, but have been hailed as heroes and patriots.

Dr. Bachman went on to describe how the slaves, male and female, were treated by the soldiers:

On Sunday, the negroes were dressed in their best suits. They were kicked, and knocked down and robbed of all their clothing, and they came to us in their shirt-sleeves, having lost their hats, clothes, and shoes. Most of our own clothes had been hid in the woods. The negroes who had assisted in removing them were beaten and threatened with death, and compelled to show them where they were concealed. They cut open the trunks, threw my manuscripts and devotional books into a mud-hole, stole the ladies’ jewelry, hair ornaments, etc., tore many garments into tatters, or gave the rest to the negro women to bribe them into criminal intercourse. These women afterward returned to us those articles that, after the mutilations, were scarcely worth preserving. The plantation, of one hundred and sixty negroes, was some distance from the house, and to this place successive parties of fifty [soldiers] at a time resorted for three long days and nights, the husbands and fathers being fired at and compelled to fly into the woods.

Dr. Bachman, who was about seventy-five years of age, was robbed of his watch by Federal soldiers. They repeatedly questioned him about the location of other valuables, and when he did not answer to their satisfaction, one of them beat him so severely that one of his arms was paralyzed for the rest of his life. A few weeks later, Dr. Bachman happened to encounter this same soldier, now a captive held by outraged Confederate militiamen who were eager for revenge:

They were excited to the highest pitch of rage, and thirsted for revenge. They believed that among the prisoners that had just arrived on the railroad-car, on their way to Sumter, were the very men who committed such horrible outrages in the neighborhood. Many of their houses had been laid in ashes. They had been robbed of every means of support.
Their horses had been seized; their cattle and hogs bayoneted; their mothers and sisters had been insulted, and robbed of their watches, ear and wedding rings. Some of their parents had been murdered in cold blood. The aged pastor, to whose voice they had so often listened, had been kicked and knocked down by repeated blows, and his hoary head had been dragged about in the sand. They entreated me to examine the prisoners and see whether I could identify the men that had inflicted such barbarities on me. I told them I would do so, provided they would remain where they were and not follow me. The prisoners saw me at a distance, held down their guilty heads, and trembled like aspen leaves. All cruel men are cowards. One of my arms was still in a sling. With the other I raised some of their hats. They all begged for mercy. I said to them, “The other day you were tigers—you are sheep now.” But a hideous object soon arrested my attention. There sat my brutal enemy— the vulgar, swaggering lieutenant, who had ridden up to the steps of the house, insulted the ladies, and beaten me most unmercifully. I approached him slowly, and, in a whisper asked him:

“Do you know me, sir?—the old man whose pockets you first searched, to see whether he might not have a penknife to defend himself, and then kicked and knocked down with your fist and heavy scabbard?”
He presented the picture of an arrant coward, and in a trembling voice implored me to have mercy: “Don’t let me be shot; have pity! Old man, beg for me! I won’t do it again! For God’s sake, save me! O God, help me!”
“Did you not tell my daughter there was no God? Why call on him now?”
“Oh, I have changed my mind; I believe in a God now.”

I turned and saw the impatient, flushed, and indignant crowd approaching.

“What are they going to do with me?” said he.
“Do you hear that sound—click, click?”
“Yes,” said he, “they are cocking their pistols. ”
“True, ” said I; “and if I raise a finger you will have a dozen bullets through your brain.”
Then I will go to hell; don’t let them kill me. O Lord, have mercy!”
“Speak low,” said I, “and don’t open your lips.”

The men advanced. Already one had pulled me by the coat. “Show us the men.” I gave no clue by which the guilty could be identified. I walked slowly through the car, sprang into the waiting carriage, and drove off.

By not identifying this man as his assailant, Dr. Bachman probably spared his life.

  7. I live in a town in south west Illinois and I don’t consider it a dystopia. It’s true that we are up against a very corrupt and highly dysfunctional state government, dominated by Chicago politicians, meaning commies, niggers, spics, the usual Democratic party riff raff. The town has assets, the housing stock has been maintained pretty well, it’s reasonably safe, it’s got doctors, a hospital, a municipal pool, 2500 people. It has what is supposed to be a good public high school, I haven’t attended it for while. Last month a corporate entity closed the one grocery store in town. But concerned citizens have gotten a food truck to come to town twice a week, they come for the first time next week. And a municipal garden has been planted. I don’t think it’s big enough, but at least the town, which is mostly white, has shown that it can work together as a group to try to solve problems when they happen..

    • @Copperhead…

Your town is very similar to mine in Northeastern North Carolina.

We don’t have the hospital, but, we do have the grocery store – two until recently.

We have parks, and, in particular, a large outdoor museum we call an historick district, in which I and my wife are blesst to live in an antebellum home.

We have a good traditional basis for our life here, as do y’all, up yonder, and whatever problems we have come from either the bad policies of The United States’ Government, the weakness of the North Carolina State Government, (in response to former), and the very corporate globalist structure which creates an environment so difficult for small business to succeed that, even though we, as a community, have blockt almost all franchises from coming here, our downtown area has only a fraction of the human and economick vigour it had 50 or 60 years ago.

We have problems, but, like y’all, we are not only far from a dystopia, we are a vast improvement over much of what has been occurring in the big cities, particularly in The Blue States.

  8. @ the “Yankee”, villainous, yet founding stock, the hyphenated white, for the most part non Anglo, non felt, immigrated in, after the war, quite readily, quite willing to accept the Yankee narrative, quite willing and eager too step on the white south, too ingratiate themselves to the men of the north, aspiring to move up a rung on the American ladder, they have been quite rude too the white south, I’ve never felt any kinship with them, the opinion’s they espouse, regarding the bloodbath known as the war between the states, are basically mean spirited, unnecessary and irreverent, considering it’s not their place to be insulting people who have done nothing to them, the hyphenated weren’t involved then, nor should they be now, it’s not their business.

    • “… considering it’s not their place to be insulting people who have done nothing to them …”

When I was a child, Mr. Smith, in what was then a white neighborhood in northeast Philadelphia, trash day was about the only time I saw blacks. Even at a distance, they were visibly perspiring, on hot summer days, as they walked alongside the city’s trash-collection truck and emptied into it the trash cans from one house after another along my black. Even then—before I’d begun elementary school, I’m pretty sure, and well before I’d heard of the Civil War, unless I’m well mistaken—they were to uninformed me pictures of palpable abjection, visions of what seemed to me unmatched lowliness. Since I was born in late 1953, this would have been in the late 1950s, and I knew not how to understand their pitiable fate.

So—even though you, as a Southerner and thus someone incapable of thinking of anyone other than himself, might think you’re entitled not to be hated by someone to whom you’ve “done nothing,” you are justly hated by anyone with an ounce of fellow feeling for even the least impressive of human types.

I’ll try to put this in a way that isn’t “mean spirited, unnecessary, and irreverent” …

Fuck you, fuck the Confederacy, and fuck the South in general.

      • Dear John,

I do not know why you regard sweating at manual labour such a pitiable lowliness.

No, My Friend, even though I came up in the upper class, I have done plenty of manual labour, in all sorts of weather, and, although sometimes it has been tough, I see no reason to lament it.

No, whether I was a boy performing chores on my granddaddy’s farm, or in the service, or working as a landscaper, or as a guitarmaker working with handtools, and, much more continuously, as a gardener in my own garden, or carpenter restoring my own house, I have most often been the sight of what you would regard as pitiable lowliness.

No, there are a lot of questions, with regards to your view of those trash collectors, that, though, it would be unfair to regale a child for not asking, ought be askt here :

#1. Is the worker suited to his work?

#2. Is the worker being paid a living wage?

#3. Is the worker being treated with respect by his co-workers and highers-up?

#4. What is the worker’s attitude about his work?

#5. Is the worker’s life being recklessly endangered?

To me, Dear John, there is a lot to be said about the doing of a godly labour, that which not only is of service to the community, but, which has a tangible beginning and end.

Moreover, I guarantee you those most of those Negroes you pitied, were not involved in gangbanging and all sorts of no-account skullduggery, but, were strong men, Christians, and daddies who were doing their duties in every venue of their lives.

Lastly, I would say this to you : my daddy workt long hard hours at his Lincoln-Mercury Dealership to not only provide for us, but, to provide for our servants.

Our servants came to work in the morning, ate and drank at our table, talkt with my mama about this and that all day long, were paid a decent wage that never once was paid late.

My daddy had no such luxuries, for though there were some years he earned a lot, there were other years when the economy took a dive and he suffered.

Those Negroes whom you pitied out on the street, never had to deal with that kind of stress, but, much as those who were my family’s servants, were always given a guaranteed scenario, safe working environment, and all the tools and time with which they need to complete their tasks.

Moreover, that society create a kind of Negro that not only had respect for himself, he had respect for others.

This society, though it still has many Negroes (now The Latins) does not create people who respects others or themselves, and that is not just Negroes, but, White, as well.

        • Just saw your comment, Ivan, and can give only a quick reply. The lowliness I sensed in those trash collectors didn’t have to do with their hot menial labor per se. It was something about them, about those figures themselves. Probably, it was some racial sense I had, some sense that they were out of place among whites, a feeling that theirs could never quite be the dignity of whites, no matter how low in the order of things a white might be. It was a sense, I guess, that they knew they had to be wary about holding their heads up—more wary than even the lowliest white would ever have to be.

          • @John…

Well, Dear John, that ‘lowliness’ can be found in the lower realms of The White class, as well.

This is something that goes much more to the individual, and the family whence he arises, than to race or political/economick system.

Never forget that every Negro in the 1950s had a whole host of alternatives to manual labour – from working and saving up money – in order to own and run a profitable Black Store, that opportunity of which untold Negroes availed themselves, in those eras, OR … if they wanted to be in the professional class, they could attend a whole host of Negro Colleges that would make them anything they aspired to be.

In my childhood town of Raleigh, we had the two oldest and most venerable Black Institutions – Shaw University and St. Augustine’s College, and they turned out oodles and oodles of Negro intellectuals and professional types.

I knew many of these people, as my daddy maintained unusually good and deep ties with The Black Community of that day, and they repaid him by being a large percentage of his most loyal customers.

In fact, one of my coloured neighbours holds her doctorate in Black History from Shaw University and she has a very formidable mind.

          • A big problem for White Southerners, Dear John, when it comes to talking of Negroes with our Northern White Cousins, is that, y’all, with the rarest exception, do not actually have a lot of direct experience dealing with Negroes.

No, Sir, most of y’all have either grown up in all-White neighbourhoods or in all White Nationalist paradises that are so many Northern States – particularly most of New England.

That so, for y’all The Negro is not a known entity, but, rather, a distant symbol of something – and, that so, he is either something with which to sympathize or something which to revile.

For us, White Southerners, however, so many of us who have had regular dealings with Negroes that we truly know them, and their race, well enough to see them as individual people, and, thus, do not particularly revile them or feel sorry for them, either as individual people or as a race.

While some here might take issue with me, I know that in having asserted this to you, I am speaking for the vast majority of White Southerners who have ever lived – we have our issues with The Negro Race, but, we take them one at a time.

          • “[T]hat “lowliness” can be found in the lower realms of The White class, as well.”

That’s probably where you and I are disagreeing in this matter, Ivan. I’m a racist. The lowliest white, in my view, has something going for him that, in a way, even a black of high position—merited position—never quite can have. That is something I have always felt, always sensed.

How my own personal dealings with blacks compare, in quantity or depth of intimacy, with those of the average Southerner, I can’t really know; but I would say there have been times when I, in reading comments here, at Occidental Dissent, have felt I’m hearing from persons who have far less personal experience with blacks than do I. I’m pretty sure at least one or two of those persons have been Southerners.

          • @John Bonaccorsi…

Thank you, Dear John, for your thoughtful reply.

Yes, you are a racist, now, though, most of your life you were not, or, at least not consciously, which, by the way, describes many White People in this country – unconscious of their racial feelings and in denial.

No, doubt that I, too, am a racist, as have been the vast majority of not only all the White Southerners who have ever lived, all the human beings who have ever lived.

That said, there are many many ways of being a racist, and the common Northern way, a way which now many Southerners, living under the modern system of Northern Segregation, (Dubbed ‘Civil Rights’) has created a lot of White Southerners who have no actual experience with Negroes.

It is a very ironick thing that Martin Luther King’s dream, as enforcet by The United States’ Government, has led to a society in Dixie far more segregated than we ever had before.

Nowadays, many many White Southerners grow up as did you – in an all White suburban community.

Beforehand, however, most White Southerners, who were not living in the hill country or in Appalachia, had Negroes working for them, from employees at work, to even more commonly, domesticks at home.

Thus, the majority of White Southerners from your era and mine, knew Negroes, both as a race and as individual people.

Negroes were not distant symbols for us, but, actual personal realities.

To that end, we did not see them as objects who were ‘pictures of palpable abjection, visions of what seemed to me unmatched lowliness’

No, My Friend, when you have a man sit at your kitchen table, know how he drinks his coffee, what about his wife or house is vexing him, or what part of the paper he likes to read, it is extremely unlikely that he will ever be such as you saw them.

That is my central point here – we are both racists, and admittedly so, because we are human, but, by the same token racism at a distance is not racism up close, and even those manifestations have myriad examples of variance.

All the best to you and mama!

          • “… when you … know how [a man] drinks his coffee …”

You’ve reminded me, Ivan, of the reply a black acquaintance of mine made to a black waitress who’d said to him, “Cream and sugar?” This, of course, was right after he’d ordered coffee, in the North Philadelphia restaurant where he and I were seated with one or two others in a booth.

“No cream, sugar,” he said. “I like my coffee the way I like my women: black and sweet.”

Being the kind of guy who got a kick out of his own flirting, he got a big laugh from himself with that one. The waitress, with order-pad and writing implement in hand, was stone-faced,

            On that note …

Will relay your best, and I send our best in return to those at your end.

PS My neighborhood wasn’t exactly suburban, as I imagine you’re construing that term. On an occasion when I was walking home from school with a classmate whom I didn’t know especially well, he, my classmate, brought up a then-recent sports story with which I was not familiar. It involved a Phillies fan who’d kept a home-run ball he’d caught in what must have been, in those days, Connie Mack Stadium. Since the player who’d hit the ball was black, my classmate’s father had said, as my classmate informed me, “I’d have thrown it back.”

          • @John Bonnaccorsi…

Just wanted you to know that I read your last remark here.

Interesting vignette about the home run ball.

Wow, times sure have changed, and in a very short time, indeed!

Thank you for all your interesting and thoughtful correspondence and your best wishes to my family!

  9. “You’re right, NBF. The story of how Aryans botched the settling of North America—the greatest opportunity they’d ever been presented—is not really my history.”

Yes – so unlike that wonderfully efficient modern-day paradise Italy, where the future of the youthful, vigorous founding stock is inviolate. Clearly a superior people that got it RIGHT.

Strange, though, that so many of the olive-oily paragons scurried to this botched Aryan shithole, only to either make-a de piz-za, or become track-suited goombah punks…:o)

  10. “…you are justly hated by anyone with an ounce of fellow feeling for even the least impressive of human types.”

Let it all out. It’s good for you, Gianni. We hate your kind with at least as much intensity. Oh, I don’t mean all White Northerners, no; just the Unreconstructed Yanks, and the greasy Ellis Island cucarachas like you.

  11. Mr. Bonaccorsi, nice too hear from you, I thank you, for sharing your thoughts, I appreciate your honesty and your intellect, obviously we are in disagreement, but we know where we stand and that is a good thing, I hope we can agree on that, at least, as always, in respect sir.
