Richard Dawkins Gets Canceled By “Freethinkers” For Transphobia

I have a confession to make.

In the early 2000s, I used to be a fedora tipping atheist and Richard Dawkins fan. In fact, it was an unsettling experience on the Richard Dawkins Forum which set me on the path to becoming a Christian. When I realized how awful these people were, I began having second thoughts about atheism.

Newsweek:

“Biologist and author Richard Dawkins had his 1996 Humanist of the Year award revoked on Monday after his comments about transgender individuals.

“Richard Dawkins was honored in 1996 by the AHA as Humanist of the Year for his significant contributions in this area,” the American Humanist Association wrote in a statement. “Regrettably, Richard Dawkins has over the past several years accumulated a history of making statements that use the guise of scientific discourse to demean marginalized groups, an approach antithetical to humanist values.”

His latest statement implies that the identities of transgender individuals are fraudulent, while also simultaneously attacking Black identity as one that can be assumed when convenient. His subsequent attempts at clarification are inadequate and convey neither sensitivity nor sincerity,” the statement said. …”

National Review:

“Demonstrating adroitly that nobody is safe from our current bout of gladiatorial Calvinball, the American Humanist Association has decided to retroactively cancel Richard Dawkins on the grounds that he is insufficiently devoted to transgenderism’s creed.

Dawkins’s crime was to have suggested on Twitter that transgender people are not, in a scientific sense, members of the sex with which they identify. “In 2015,” Dawkins wrote recently, “Rachel Dolezal, a white chapter president of NAACP, was vilified for identifying as Black. Some men choose to identify as women, and some women choose to identify as men. You will be vilified if you deny that they literally are what they identify as.” In response, the AHA said that Dawkins was “making statements that use the guise of scientific discourse to demean marginalised groups, an approach antithetical to humanist values,” and took away an award that it had given Dawkins in 1996, thereby confirming his initial hypothesis. …”

I had read all of Richard Dawkins books. I still own them today.

It was my introduction to his fans and the “atheist community” and specifically this very issue in that community which gave me the impression that no one is more dogmatic than “free thinkers.” The people on the forum were fanatically committed to the idea that race, sex and gender are social constructs. They wouldn’t listen to reason or science and ganged up on me and shouted me down.

Spectator Australia:

“For years, the evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins enjoyed the acclaim and approval heaped upon him by universities and institutes across the western world. Festooned with awards and lavished with honours, he rode the intellectual tidal wave of new atheism at its peak.

But now the tide is out and with it Dawkins’ brand of free-spirited thinking too; the author of The Selfish Gene has been accused of Islamophobiatransphobia and a variety of supposedly offensive comments. …”

Dawkins of course is famously thick skinned but the latest ignominy heaped on the Oxford academic will have stung more than most. The American Humanist Association Board today announced it was stripping Dawkins of his 1996 ‘Humanist of the Year’ award claiming sniffily that he:

“has over the past several years accumulated a history of making statements that use the guise of scientific discourse to demean marginalized groups, an approach antithetical to humanist values. His latest statement implies that the identities of transgender individuals are fraudulent, while also simultaneously attacking Black identity as one that can be assumed when convenient. His subsequent attempts at clarification are inadequate and convey neither sensitivity nor sincerity.” …”

They’ve finally cancelled Dawkins himself over their -isms and -phobias.

It was clear to me even back then that these people were a dangerous religious cult. Wokeism was an emerging religious cult, but it lacked all of the virtues of Christianity. The thing that disturbed me the most about the “atheist community” is that it was full of people who were lifestyle atheists. They hated Christianity, not because they thought it was incompatible with science or thought it was untrue, but because the practice of Christianity was incompatible with their degenerate lifestyles.

    • Yeah. Dawkins pointed this out and now he’s being purged.

Guess who cares about pointing out hypocrisy (besides Conservatives)? No one.

  1. “Another atheist organization has fallen to wokeness.

Wokeness is a universal solvent that corrodes and destroys everything it contacts.”

Lol. Stupid ass conservatives. Not understanding how institutions and ideological warfare works. How factions consolidate power and realign society to the ruling Order. All organs of the society is to follow the ideological lines mandated. And people throughout the society help in this enforcement by notifying authorities and institutions when people step out of line. How all societies have social ramifications. Let alone society. It must really suck to just cry in grievance with your stupid word “wokeness” than to actually understand what is going on and how societies work (and what systemically has to change). Always the rulers and the ruled.

New people taking the ideas further, and in a purity spiral, set the new boundaries of what is and isn’t now acceptable. Dawkins is now on the chopping block, because he’s not socially aware (reminds me of Watson).

Dawkins reminds me of the typical out of touch boomer, that doesn’t get what is going on (on some level). He reminds of Stefan Molyneux, a boomer libertarian idiot, who started to dabble in race and IQ/quasi racial nationalist stuff, and get booted off of YouTube thinking he was in the “free market of ideas” (LOL) and on a private company (not the gobbberment). Not getting who controls the institutions, who pressures the institutions when someone starts going against the society and its values to get the person removed. Just generally not getting how the fuck things work. Cry about the loss of a free society, free speech, and rationalism.

The sun comes up, the sun comes down.
The Conservative and many Nationalists get booted. Cry “wokeness!” on Twitter.
A new day comes and I just brush my teeth, go to the bathroom, and march on.
The birds still chirp in near my window.

    My haiku.

  2. > “because the practice of Christianity was incompatible with their degenerate lifestyles.”

I think this is a sexual fetish – they like to fantasize that they are being sexually repressed by a Christian theocracy … in San Francisco. Because if San Francisco isn’t a hotbed of radical fundamentalist Christianity, where is?

Back in the 1980’s Margaret Atwood’s novel The Handmaid’s Tale was promoted as if it were a warning of a coming Christian Patriarchy. But now, when they made the TV show, they dropped the pretense and openly advertise it as a “50 Shades of Grey” style submissive/dominant fantasy.

I read one of them on Hacker News – the Reddit for smart people – and this guy was literally complaining that “Christianity” has made young girls “sexually repressed” and if they would just loosen up he would get more casual sex … from them.

No – that was not a joke. He was absolutely, dead serious.

  3. I thought this was an outstanding article. Well done, Hw. Humans by nature will always fight it out and take each other down. Atheists push that factor up a great deal. Many former atheists will point to their degenerate and all about me lifestyle when looking back at it.. It was always about self. Contrast that with JESUS CHRIST and it’s pretty staggering. JESUS said if one wants to be great in this life then be a servant to many.

For those who know nothing about him, check out former atheist turned pastor, Howard Storm. He died and went to hell and was then rescued by JESUS.

Do a search under Howard Storm and unsolved mysteries for the video. I always thought unsolved mysteries did a great job on it. Anyway Mr. Storm said he was all about self, manipulation and control. His family feared him. He wrote a good and relatively short book on his experience as well called, ” My Descent Into Death.” Good stuff.

  4. Degeneracy and wokeness are not inherent to atheism. But since atheists do not look to the Christian church as a guide for what to believe and how to act, they are left with secular institutions like the state, academia, Hollywood, journalism, etc. And if the people controlling those institutions push degeneracy and wokeness, then many of the atheist masses will follow. But if those institutions were pushing family values, sexual virtue, white identity, etc., the atheist masses would conform to those things just as easily. Only a small percentage of people, of any religion, are capable of critical thinking about issues and evaluating positions that run contrary to systemic propaganda on their own merit. The rest just believe what they are told to believe.

  5. All those arrogant, effete assholes should be rounded up and prodded into unheated cattle cars for a one-way trip to forced labor camps in the Arctic Circle.

  6. Yes, many atheists hate religion just because it demands that they restrain their crotches. No deeper than that.

  7. As counter-intuitive as it sounds Zionists have been pushing Christianity hard in pro-white circles. Their goal is to get Whites to identify as Christians first and foremost and to view immigration not as a racial threat, but as a threat to ‘western Christendom’. This is the whole basis of the Jewish ‘counter-jihad movement’ which seeks to turn our racial conflict into a religious one for the benefit of Israel.

It’s tempting to support Christianity when you see how obnoxious and smug the professional atheist crowd is, but that is a reactionary position to take and Christianity doesn’t even try to stand up to degeneracy anymore.

    • Christianity is behind the massive invasion of nonwhites into our nation. They even go to Africa and Central and South America to help, so they can have more children.
Christianity promotes “all men are brothers” and “all men are God’s children”.
So how can anyone worship a god who made Negroes? Seriously… do you want to spend eternity with them in heaven? Listening to them repeat themselves over and over and over? Whining about Popeye’s latest chicken sandwich?

  8. Dawkins is a grifter who believes whatever it’s safe to believe. As it gets increasingly unsafe to say a man isn’t a woman, Dawkins will change his tune, so his grift can continue.

    • @Jethro
How’s he any different from your 41-year-old idol living in the Deep South boondocks who depends on this blog to raise his son and wife? He doesn’t air all his true beliefs and you don’t think he’ll shift his opinions when donations dry up? Ha!

      • There is nothing unsafe about what you believe @Vegan WWE Gamer.

You are backed by the university system, the legal system, the mass media, hollywood, big corporations, trillion dollar big tech censors all your opponents for you. If you riot in the streets your rich daddy, will use his connections to get you out.

In your fantasies you are rebelling against the establishment, while echoing establishment talking points.

        • What does that have to do with you idolizing a Gen Xer whose job is a blog and will therefore change his position if donations and readership dries up and will do what you accuse Dawkins of doing @Jethro/Radical? I’m nonviolent, but I’m sure you aren’t and you were at the Capitol. Sad. LOL

          • What exactly have I changed my position on?

            Southern Heritage?

            Foreign Policy?

            Immigration?

            Free Trade / Globalization

            Guns

            Abortion

            Trans

            Cultural Degeneration

            Infrastructure

            Taxation

            Regulation

            Income Inequality

            White Identity

            Christianity

            COVID-19

            Antifa

            Black Lives Matter

            Oligarchs

I’ve maintained this blog for over a decade now and categorize everything I write. What issue have I changed my mind on?
