Tucker Carlson: Georgia Isn’t “Jim Crow On Steroids”

Editor’s Note: In honor of Georgia becoming “Jim Crow on steroids” after voting for Joe Biden in the 2020 election and electing Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock to the U.S. Senate in January, which is a somewhat puzzling take, I have selected Gov. Lester Maddox burning The Atlanta-Journal Constitution as our new banner. Lester Maddox knew how to deal with the fake news in Georgia.

Why are we still doing “Right Populism”?

As I said the other day, the Democrats have become the Republican Party. It is an Eastern party that has aligned Big Business with wealthy elites, haughty upper middle class professionals and progressive activists. We’ve seen this before. It used to be called the Whig Party and the Republican Party.

We’ve exited the liberal and conservative era that has existed since the New Deal. The New Deal coalition united populists and progressives. Progressive activists have been steadily alienating populists since around the time of the Civil Rights Movement and driving them out of the Democratic Party. Political correctness and immigration are the issues which have finished off New Deal liberalism.

We’re reverting to the way things used to be around the turn of the 20th century when populism and progressivism were based in rival political parties. The three legs of the classic “populist stool” in the Bryan era were foreign policy restraint and anti-imperialism, social conservatism and economic populism. The populists were the people who were against Wall Street and who wanted to break up the trusts and monopolies and tax, regulate and nationalize corporations in the public interest.

Conservatives spent generations sucking up to and kowtowing to Corporate America and trying to take us back to the Gilded Age. Donald Trump gave them a big tax cut in 2017. It would have been much wiser and politically popular to have gone in the opposite direction. Woke capitalism is now explicitly aligned with progressive activists and has become one of the biggest enemies of populist voters. Republicans currently have no vision beyond cutting their taxes out of sheer habit.

  1. Of all the things that are leading to a reconfederatization of this country, 3 stand out :

#1. The United States’ Government having shipped out our manufacturing sector.

#2. The use of immigration to create a minority/majority country.

#3. The wild and continued distortions of The Left, to support their narrative of being bullied by a bogeyman, and their incessant use of it to create a pseudo Soviet-like state, wherein denunciation and varied forms of deportation are the order of the day.

So much of the greatness, that was this country but a few decades ago, is totally lost. The Left, and their corporate/government allies have become addicted to a kind of intellectual/cultural bloodlust.

    • @Ivan it really is depressing isnt it? The rot has been in the underbelly for over a hundred years now but it, or rather “they” didnt really come out from the shadows till the 1960s and then incrementally became more open about their desires to the point that for the past decade we can now see them openly calling for total White destruction and replacement.

I remember as a child in the 80s that we may have had problems but it looked nothing like this nightmare scape. My area was founded by my family almost two hindered years earlier and had the same makeup and feel in 1880 as it did in 1985. Over the next few years the nice parts of town are all Indian now and the poorer parts went from white with a few blacks to all Salvadoran with open gang warfare on the streets. What was done to this country is a crime against humanity there are no other words to better describe it. A sin on every level

  2. Hey POTUS, how about using the term “James Crow”? President (questionable to a large %) Biden seems to give no respect to the South or anyone living here or anywhere else except the Commie radicals.

…there was the plantation; Brierfield, he [Jefferson Davis] called it. Here too he worked and learned, making certain innovations in the labor system. The overseer was a Negro, James Pemberton. No slave was ever punished except after a formal trial by an all-Negro jury, Davis only reserving the right to temper the severity of the judgment. James was always James, never Jim; “It is disrespect to give a nickname,” Davis said, and the overseer repaid him with frankness, loyalty, and efficiency. Once when something went amiss and the master asked him why, James replied: “I rather think, sir, through my neglect.”

This whole argument is about making changes to ensure that future elections will be legit and not about James Crow. But the Dems only know how to get their way by playing the race card. And the reason why the radical North’s “Reconstruction” plan for a utopian South failed is because the North was just as “racist” and even more so than the South and the real solution to integrating blacks into society was to move them ALL out of the South into all these self-righteous holier-than-thou mostly lily-white Northern states and pro-North territories. The Black population today in the North and former anti-slave territories should be much much higher than it is now. What are the % white populations in some of the Northern states today? Over 80-90%? The North has failed to take their own medicine they tried to force on the South.

And you have to love “honest(for once)” Abe’s (nickname intended), the greatest Yankee who ever lived, honesty:

“…I will say then that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races, [applause]-that I am not nor ever have been in favor of making voters or jurors of [blacks], nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people; and I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the white and black races which I believe will forever forbid the two races living together on terms of social and political equality. And inasmuch as they cannot so live, while they do remain together there must be the position of superior and inferior, and I AS MUCH AS ANY OTHER MAN AM IN FAVOR OF HAVING THE SUPERIOR POSITION ASSIGNED TO THE WHITE RACE…
–Abraham Lincoln, 4th Lincoln-Douglas debate, Charleston, Illinois, 9/18/1858.

  3. There was nothing wrong with Jim Crow laws. There is segregation today but it’s selective for certain races.

  4. Lester Maddox showed that even a good man putting out 110% effort cannot resist a corrupt Federal government. Reading his story years ago I debated his actions thinking would it really be that bad to just let in a couple clean cut black people to eat their meals inside his restaurant in peace? The reality of it was a NO, but thinking about it on a deeper level is how I came to the realization that nothing he did could have saved that place. Either it ended up closed and demolished or it might still be opened and filled with bullet proof glass at the counter and a less than clean cut wholesome family atmosphere.

Maddox is a great example to use with fence sitters who want to do the right thing and also preserve the state of things for their people. Neither option seems available. Lester was a great man though a reall firebrand who took no sh*t
