Marco Rubio Is With Amazon Workers In Spirit Now

I’m not going to complain.

It is another baby step away from True Cons orthodoxy, right?

USA Today:

“For the past several years, Amazon has waged a war against working-class values. The Silicon Valley titan uses anticompetitive strategies to crush small businesses, bans conservative books and blocks traditional charities from participating in its AmazonSmile program. Not surprisingly, it has also bowed to China’s censorship demands.

Amazon may be headquartered in America, but it considers itself a citizen of the world.

Now, the company is facing a unionization effort at its warehouse in Bessemer, Alabama.

The move comes after a banner year for Amazon thanks to the COVID-19 lockdowns. But even after historic market gains, its corporate leadership fears the prospect of its workers having an increased say in working conditions, so it’s looking to crush the union vote. …

But the days of conservatives being taken for granted by the business community are over.

Here’s my standard: When the conflict is between working Americans and a company whose leadership has decided to wage culture war against working-class values, the choice is easy — I support the workers. And that’s why I stand with those at Amazon’s Bessemer warehouse today. …

It isn’t clear whether the union effort is primarily driven by complaints from its workers, agitation from Democratic operatives, or just the fact that Jeff Bezos has now become the first person in history worth $200 billion. But Amazon should understand that waging a war on small businesses and working-class values has burned bridges with former allies. …”

Mitt Romney was recently reprogrammed too.

Rubio is sticking it to Jeff Bezos by sponsoring a bill to repeal the estate tax.

“In addition to Thune and McConnell, the bill is cosponsored by U.S. Sens. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), Roy Blunt (R-Mo.), John Boozman (R-Ark.), John Cornyn (R-Texas), Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.), Mike Crapo (R-Idaho), Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Steve Daines (R-Mont.), Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Deb Fischer (R-Neb.), Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), John Hoeven (R-N.D.), James Inhofe (R-Okla.), John Kennedy (R-La.), Roger Marshall (R-Kan.), Jerry Moran (R-Kan.), Jim Risch (R-Idaho), Mike Rounds (R-S.D.), Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Rick Scott (F-Fla.), Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), and Roger Wicker (R-Miss.). …”

Republicans have much more latitude in rhetoric and token gestures than in actually voting and pushing for a pro-working class agenda. Obviously, they got to do something and their donors aren’t going to give them too hard of a time as long as they continue voting against $1,400 stimulus checks. Rubio and Mike Lee came out against the Biden child tax credit which they denounced as “welfare.” Even before the checks start going out, it has the support of … oh, only 84% of White working class voters.

Note: No one cares what National Review thinks anymore. Republican voters and True Conservatism are two different things. Far more people see things the way that I do now than all of these old timers. Something like a third of their voters are pretty much White Nationalists now.

  1. The bizarre thing about Rubio’s support of the union drive in AL is all the bluecheck libs coming out with fire and fury against, basically swatting away support if they don’t like where it’s coming from.

Libs prove once again why they fail to get things done that people support is because they decline support from people if they don’t like their other values

  2. Well that’s interesting. I’m sure the Corporate Republicans, Jews, and the Super Rich will be donating $10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 against him because OMG God forbid we actually have Unions who actually care about the Working Class and help shrink the gap between the Super Rich vs the Middle Class, and Working Poor. Deo Vindice !

  3. Rubio, Cruz, Abbott, DeSantis, etc are all bought and sold by the jews. They know it but will always deny it.
