I’ve also read Aristotle and Alasdair MacIntyre. The difference is that I have taken what they both said to heart when it comes to my moral beliefs. The founding settlers of America and all the generations that followed them up until Rod’s generation also had the Bible and Protestantism. Insofar as racial nationalism ever existed in America, they were the ones who pioneered it.
After reading Aristotle, Alasdair MacIntyre and Martin Luther, it seemed to me that the upshot of what I had read is that cowardice is a serious moral failing. Morality has nothing to do with this laundry list of -isms and -phobias which were invented in the 20th century. Previous generations were raised to believe that moral qualities were things like honesty, integrity, bravery, fortitude and honor. Unlike modern day conservative liberals like Rod, their speech was plain, honest and forthright.
Martin Luther had more integrity in his little finger than all of the mainstream conservatives of Rod’s generation. Those men also set up state churches in Germany and national churches in Scandinavia in the wake of the Reformation. Church and state were integrated in Northern Europe until the 19th century. In those days, no one flagellated themselves over being German or Swedish. The mainstream consensus until the mid-20th century was also that America was a “White Man’s Country.”
If you want my opinion, I think the morals of conservatives like Rod have simply been corrupted by luxury. They have a social status and a job to preserve. It is not the first time it has happened in history. They were born into an age of materialism. They stood idly and did nothing while our country degenerated and unraveled. Even worse, they attacked the young men who were brave enough to honor their fathers for the mob wouldn’t come for them, which is why we are in this unfortunate situation.
Obviously, it won’t be men like Rod who will lead us out of this mess. Rod’s blog is a daily chronicle of why young White men should expect nothing from conservative liberalism. Rusty Reno’s latest book is a fairly decent account of how mainstream conservatism is part and parcel of this culture of weakness. It couldn’t be mainstream without being … WEAK. By definition, strong men are eliminated from conservatism and so now you are left with nothing but the morons, grifters and the social climbers.
For the sake of the Christian faith, I wish Rod would stop trying to make it out to be as feminine and unappealing as possible to young men because countless people never get past this presentation. He does the faith no favors by associating it with men like Russell Moore. I do what I can to correct this by reminding my readers that Christians used to be made of stronger stuff (see, for example, King Alfred the Great and the unification of England), but there is only so much I can do.

You’re a good guy, Hunter, but Nietzsche was simply right about Christianity. He did overreach sometimes, like his reading of Rousseau where he detected latent Christian morality in Rousseau’s romanticism, which is incorrect, Rousseau opposed Christianity on the same grounds as Nietzsche; it sacrificed temporal sovereignty and the consequent exclusion of the other entirely for the sake of the next world’s universal equality. Thus Christianity is just the primitive form of liberalism with its abstract human rights dogma.

Rod Dreher’s inspiration is the Catholic monk St. Benedict, known as the father of Western monasticism. Although Rod was born Methodist he is now Eastern Orthodox by religious affiliation. St. Benedict founded monasteries for the purpose of preserving Christianity and European Civilisation, the two being inextricably intertwined. Unfortunately for Rod St. Benedict didn’t write “all men are created equal”.
At the time of St. Benedict, 5th – 6th century A.D., all of Europe was European i.e. white. The Roman Empire had broken up and disorder was everywhere though. St. Benedict tried to preserve what could be preserved of civilisation in the chaos of his time through work, study and prayer within the monastic system. Some of the monasteries from that time still exist today.
This was possible because of physical isolation of monasteries, support of various popes and local rulers and the monasteries’ value as centers of learning and economic production as well as their charitable works. The world has drastically changed through the centuries and Rod and his pals will be targets of the mob because they are white, plain and simple. They will not be left alone.
Religious “leaders”; Protestant, Catholic or otherwise Christian will be required to bend the knee to the black/brown god of our dispossession in the near future, the Constitution be damned. Most of these so-called “leaders” have been down for the cause for a long time, they can show you black and white photographs of themselves marching with other dim witted whites arm in arm with frauds like MLK. These numb skulls believe this will protect them from the wrath of the inchoate mob but that’s not how it works.

It is Catholic belief that humans can form any type of government they desire as long as they agree that all human authority derives from God. Of course you are not allowed to revolt against lawful authority unless basic God-given rights are being seriously violated in mass and violence against the government is the only solution.
While I am not a white nationalist I do not see how white nationalism violates any religious principle I am familiar with. Of course how to morally form such a country in a society that resembles the UN is another question. What to do with blacks who have been citizens for 150 years? Even more important what to do with Mexican-Americans? Keeping an ethnic country is one thing forming one from scratch is another.

I might add that it is my understanding that even in ancient Israel that people of the same race/ethnic group/religion still had the Israel kingdom divided into the property of 12 tribes and they kept the same tribal identity while still being Israelites.

The southwestern USA is very likely lost to non-Hispanics regardless of events. In large part thanks to the local politicians who insisted on allowing constant immmigration over the past 50 years. I’m not at all surprised that churches are kneeling for BLM. Christianity has almost no defenses against liberalism, which is why it has been dissolved so effectively over the past two centuries. Christians of the 18th-19th century would not even recognize the religion as it exists in almost all churches today. Maybe the Orthodox Church in Eastern Europe or some of the IFB churches are holding their ground, but the rest are done.
My wife is Eastern Orthodox and I can indeed confirm that they haven’t crumbled to liberalism.

The fact that she is Orthodox and you (apparently) are not proves that they have already crumbled. Traditionally they would not allow intermarriage. I was talking about Orthodox Church only as it exists in Eastern Europe. American Orthodox is a joke, along with Orthodox in Greece and a few other places.
But even if they don’t recognize it, would they have any basis for disagreeing with what they find? If Christianity has “no defenses” against liberalism, it’s hard to see how they would.
