The Post-Nationalist Moment

I’ve always been a nationalist.

I started out as a White Nationalist in 2001. Around 2011, I began to have my doubts about the strength of White identity. Then in 2012, I became a Southern Nationalist because I assumed that Southern identity, which is based on ethnicity, culture and history, must be stronger than an identity based on race.

I’ve never been an American Nationalist. It has always been obvious to me that American identity is too weak and Americans are too diverse to be a nation in any meaningful sense of the word. Now, I doubt that either White identity or Southern identity is a strong enough alternative. We have been deracinated by decades of political correctness and neoliberalism to the point where there is really no form of common identity to appeal to anymore. There is nothing left but an incoherent mass of atomized consumers.

As a nationalist, I have devoted my life to a sense of service to my people, but who are my people these days? Do they even exist anymore? Nathan Bedford Forrest is being ripped from his grave. His monument was torn down and carted off by Memphis. The conservative governor of Tennessee wants to get rid of Nathan Bedford Forrest Day. No one seems to be rising up in outrage these days except to complain about the lockdowns. The bars on Beale Street were closed for a month and to the reopeners it was the worst thing that ever happened in their lives. Mobs are rising up to burn down Minneapolis.

We’re currently in the midst of a national tragedy. 103,000 Americans have lost their lives in an epidemic since the beginning of March. You can count on one hand the number of events that have been deadlier than this in all of American history. And yet, it seems that Americans no longer have the common identity, solidarity or shared narrative of belonging to process and make sense of such a tremendous wave of death sweeping through their country. President Trump solemnly raised the American flag over the White House for three days before resuming his feuds with Jeff Sessions, Joe Scarborough and Twitter.

Truth be told, American Nationalism, White Nationalism and Southern Nationalism were all ultimately based on some form of liberalism. There has never been a viable non-liberal form of nationalism in the United States. Liberalism has rotted away the nation at the heart of all three of these forms of nationalism. American Nationalists appeal to an American nation that doesn’t exist. White Nationalists appeal to White people who lack a common sense of racial identity. Southern Nationalists appeal to Southerners whose idea of the South is watching SEC football, grilling and chilling and being “open for business.”

We’re living in Arthur Fleck’s dystopia now. In Minneapolis, we have seen a fantasy become reality. We still have orphaned nationalists being born without a nation. We still have natural conservatives being born who have the right instincts and who are reacting against our social disintegration. As nationalists though, we should feel liberated from the illusion that there is anything left of a nation here to mobilize, defend or conserve. There is just the ruins of an Arby’s burning in the twilight.

  1. I haven’t been following the Minnesota story very closely. Is this report true?

“Yesterday afternoon THE REGIME SENT IN ITS PROVOCATEURS. One of allegedly six was a WHITE MAN in black cloths, masked with a professional gas mask and carrying a black umbrella. He was filmed as he started to smash shop windows even while protesters told him not do do that. (video). When people got suspicious of him the man walked away, his umbrella still up. (video). HE WAS LATER IDENTIFIED AS A MEMBER OF THE ST. PAUL POLICE DEPARTMENT. Into the night the protests grew and took on a socialist tone when people started to communalize the goods offered at a local Target market known for its extensive survival. Later the local McDonald’s restaurant was also liberated by fire. The regime gave up. Police fled from the 3rd Precinct in a large convoy (video, video). Soon after that the precinct was set on fire. (video) These are not race riots. Many of the protesters are young people of white color” : https://www.moonofalabama.org/2020/05/begun-the-civil-wars-of-2020-have-.html

  2. I was going to head down to Lake St. in Mpls., and video myself as the Joker dancing in the burned-out shell of the Arby’s that had been there forever. The costume shops are either closed or a pile of ashes, though, so I missed my opportunity.

    • This was really powerful. And depressing. I’m 22 years old, and this dystopia is the explosion of all I’ve ever known since 1997. We have no identity to appeal to. White is too weak. Southern is too distorted from anything resembling its historic definition. American has always been flawed. America and liberalism are inseparable. What, then, do we do? What hope is there? Do we need to flee this land and return to our homelands for the defence of Europe?

        • “Think like a Voortrekker.”

“Pick up a Bible and ask God to guide you – as He did the Voortrekkers.”

          Jannie,

          We are indeed Amerikaners

      • You are perhaps relatively fortunate in that you did not grow up in a time when this country was much whiter and much nicer overall. It is a hard thing to live with.

      • @Mr. O’Donnell…

“White is too weak. Southern is too distorted from anything resembling its historic definition. American has always been flawed. America and liberalism are inseparable. What, then, do we do?”

Just be who you are, whatever that is, and don’t try to outthink the situation. As dismally complex and futiley inadequate as this moment may seem, like smoke from a battlefield, there will come a point where there is a break in it, and you will understand what to do.

Until then, during then, and after then, just be who you are and don’t bring dishonour to your family and the White Southern Race.

The rest will take care of itself.

      • Chauvin married a Vietnamese and moonlighted as a bouncer at an Hispanic might club he’s getting exactly what he wanted

        • You cannot ignore externalities. If Chauvin was born in Hungary, how likely is it he would have married a Vietnamese, bounced in an Hispanic nightclub, and been forced to deal with negroes?

You are blaming the victim. Likely Chauvin’s white dad did not teach him to be race conscious, and it only came later as an adult. The usurpation of America accelerated after 1965 immigration act.

In other words, internal family life, and external “national” life are not separate things. Our parasites are remaking the world to their liking.

          Thanks Jews.

    • Mr. Giles: I liked it when you had Free South dot org. I thought that was a more thought out organization than the League of the South.

  3. I’ve spoken at length with Brad and Renee about my political journey, but here it is in brief if anyone else is interested:

I was pretty much a copy of my normiecon evangelical parents until I was 18. I even “outdid” them by voting for Michael Peroutka, since he seemed to be a lot closer to our actual professed beliefs than Bush.

Discovery of such figures as Jaques Ellul, Claire Wolfe, Edward Abbey, Wendell Berry, Murray Rothbard and Noam Chomsky (yes, I know, I know) turned me into an anarchist for most of my 20’s when everyone else was going Ron Paul libertarian. I never called myself a libertarian or an “an-cap”, because the former was too cringe to take seriously (and I say this as one who once happily marched alongside Jeff Schoep) and because I could never square the libertarian fascination with business and economics and industry with the decentralized, independent agrarian traditional communities that I saw as being the bedrock of a truly stateless, non-aggressive, non-hierarchical society.

To be fair, I was a lot closer to the liberts in terms of my lifestyle, because–let’s face it– a farm-boy from Dixie who doesn’t care to lose his accent and isn’t ashamed of it is never going to “fit in” with the milieu of 21st century American anarchists. I was nonetheless fairly active on a handful of leftist message boards (fuck Corpgov! smash the System!), along with a very small, long-since defunct online community of Black Nationalists who I’ll be very surprised if none of them went on to be Hoteps. Sometimes I wish I could find them again, and I hope they’re all doing well.

By 2008 I was so bored with electoral politics that I cast a shit-vote for Cynthia McKinney. She personally amused me, and I liked a lot of her more populist positions, and I was sincerely impressed by her having the bravery to have gone on the Alex Jones show. Hilariously enough, she’s probably the only presidential candidate that I don’t in the slightest regret voting for.

Occupy Wall Street was my first taste of IRL activism, which mostly consisted of sitting outside a bank in Canton Georgia with a bunch of old hippies and other random misfits. Would have had to go to Atlanta or Chattanooga for any more action, which just wasn’t an option when I was still working and needed on my parents’ farm. I first encountered Weev and Rosanne Barr when both were calling for an alliance between anti-Fed populists in Occupy and the Tea Party alike (the Green Tea Party, as she explained it) and I started moving to the right at about the same rate that they did. I don’t remember when I first stumbled upon Kieth Preston, but for the longest time I was a fan of his ideas of anarcho-pluralism.

I don’t think I bothered voting in 2012, but I might have gone for the libertarian alongside my mom. (She hated Romney. My dad admitted in 2016 that he had voted for Obama twice, because he didn’t want to see any of his sons or nephews drafted.)

2015 is when I really started drifting to the alt-right. I had already been heading that way, but the twin impetus of our Southern monuments being removed and us first getting the tranny thing shoved down our throats (NO SOONER WAS THE INK DRY on the queer marriage law did they start pushing child trannies on us, which showed me that it had nothing to do with “equality” and everything to do with attacking the traditional family) made it pretty-much inevitable. I remember a popular cartoon from that time that had a Confederate Flag pulled down and replaced with a Rainbow Flag, then I remember a Zyklon Ben edit that had the Rainbow Flag replaced in turn by a Nazi Flag, and I think that’s the first time I ever looked at national socialism fondly. (similar to libertarianism, I never self-identified as a natsoc.)

One other, somewhat paradoxical thing that happened to me at this time is that I had a serious crises of faith. As an agnostic, I could finally look at the Jews without the “God’s chosen people” blinders that I had been wearing since childhood, and I didn’t like what I saw. I could also take the “hate the sin, love the sinner” rhetoric I had always heard, take one look at Drag-Queen Story Hour or Desmond Is Amazing, and think to myself, “Nah, fuck hating the sin. I’m going to hate the sinner.”

(Who was it who warned liberals that, if they hate the Christian Right, they’re going to miss them when they meet the Post-Christian Right?)

Then Trump came, and what happened happened. I was fairly late to get on the Trump Train, just as I was fairly late to get off. Now I’m semi-famous for showing up in Shelbyville with that damned red hat that I have since burned. Got through it all with a broken soul, broken heart, and quite possibly a broken brain. At this point, the happiest thing I could imagine would be if these rioters all storm the White House, drag his entire family out and necklaces them on livestream. Let the beasts eat the zookeepers.

But it wasn’t all bad. I’m glad I joined the League for one, but I really hope we can move away from any attempts at “saving” any trace of the rotten Corpgov System and focus instead on building something worth a damn in the ashes. Perhaps by the light of the distant burning cities will I build the decentralized, independent agrarian traditional communities that I originally wanted back in 2007.

People used to tell me than an anarchist/libertarian America would look like Afghanistan at best and Somalia at worst. In those days I would have argued with them, now I just say insh-fuckin’-allah.

    So, yeah, normiecon-anarchist-altright-anarchist pipeline.

    • “2015 is when I really started drifting to the alt-right.” You and several million others. Great post.

    • @Mr. Bagwell…

Thank you for having shared your spiritual/progression, in terms of the political with us.

When one gets past all the shifts in your path and the labels, you are an open-minded searcher, and, more specifically, you are searching for a kind of solidity that, at this time in history in this country, does not much exist.

A generation + older than you, I had the opportunity to come up in a time when there was still a lot of sense and solidity in The South and in Southerners, but, little by little, as Mr. Griffin mentioned, we were overtaken by Degeneracy, Distractionism, and Corporate-Nationalism, all of which has trained most of us to be diehard consumers.

      As to your comment…

“Perhaps by the light of the distant burning cities will I build the decentralized, independent agrarian traditional communities that I originally wanted back in 2007.”

I would say this – this comment reveals you not only to be a searcher, but, indeed, to be a Southerner and a Confederate, the sort upon which Dixie was founded.

I live in a town that was first settled in the late 17th century, and, in spite of everything, the general impulse in this town is to be what you state you would like, something which, until only very recently, it was, and, indeed, had been for 250+ years.

Finally I’ll say this – when all is said and done, and all the failures have been lived through, there still is this general impulse of White Southerners to be that for which you yearn, and, for that reason, I cannot be completely dark about the prospects for Dixie, because even a spore, which has lain dormant for centuries can suddenly rise up and again take shape in this world.

As to hating The Sinner, it is not only a waste of your time and energy, God does not like it, for to him, alone, goes the judgement.

Moreover, the negativity of carrying the judgement weighs against your health as you get older.

No, Mr. Bagwell, the only real task you have, for sure, is to keep your chin up and stay in good mental and physical condition, until circumstances permit you to take part in a rebuilding of our community.

You might be much older by then, but, all in all, if you are in good shape, and have not wasted yourself on vain sufferings, you will have the reward of doing that, just as our Forefathers had the reward of building a nation out of absolutely nothing.

    • @Powell…

Yes, it is a sad situation, and, yes, the article is brilliant and incisive, not the least for the depth of it’s personal revelations.

That said, Mr. Griffin has had the solution for 8 years.

The solution he has had was the solution in 1665, in 1775, in 1865, in 1960, just as it is today, just as it will be in 2058, 2109, and three centuries beyond.

Sometimes, however, the correct solution is like a seed – it cannot find a good sprouting place and poke it’s head above ground, because the circumstances do not favour that.

      Does change the seed?

      No.

We are Southerners, living at a time when most of our brethren no longer know what that means to think it.

Circumstances and time, however will shift, and the realizations will come.

We may not life to see those days, those of us who are older, BUT, the time will come, and, when it does, our collective blood will rise to the surface and assert itself.

  4. “, Trump aides general consensus was not to squash any riots that may happen tonight b/c it would hurt their chances at coalition building w/ minority communities ahead of the election.”

    WTF.

    They are TRYING to lose.

You don’t win current-year elections by coalition building, you win them by turning out more of your guys than the enemy does of theirs.

No election in American history has been won by a margin greater than the number of people claiming to be affiliated with the losing side who did not bother to show up and vote. Change that – get the precinct captains organized again, turn out the vote, on a block-by-block, neighborhood-by-neighborhood basis – and you can win an election.

This is what Stacey Abrams did in Georgia and it’s why a supposedly dependably conservative Southern state was a photo finish – and that with the Dems candidate being an obese and visibly unpleasant black woman who writes porn novels. When she says identity politics is the way to go, she’s not kidding, and she has the evidence to prove it.

The problem of course is what do you do with the victory once you have it. If you elect a guy who doesn’t know what to do with it, as in 2016, you’ve wasted your effort. If you elect a guy who has an organization and a plan, as in 1932, well, you get rather more of what you were looking for.

I thought – I took it practically for granted – that they were going to capitalize on these riots to motivate their voters to show up. Apparently they’re going to do the opposite.

    They’re trying to lose.

    • Remember how there was serious talk among the Terre Blanche types of armed white counter-revolution in 1990’s South Africa. Remember how they all kind of folded up and dissipated in the end?

    • It’s not so much that Trump is trying to lose, it’s that his core interests and those that he represents are opposed to White interests. They want White people exterminated with a fervor that far outstrips even the people the media puts in your face to express that sentiment out loud. His 2016 campaign was a carefully crafted stage show, even by American standards, with rhetoric gleamed from Buchanan and Perot and the data-mined image boards. Trump never believed a word of it. He is as hostile to it now as he was when he followed Pat around from party to party in the 90s shrieking about “nazis”. It’s just that the all zionism all the time campaign can’t work anymore, so they needed to put on a good show to squeak through the election. The second he bombed Syria using the same bullshit excuse that no one was buying when Obama tried to push it, he lost the margin of disaffected voters who actually put him over the top and that small percentage can’t be duped a second time. They’re hip to the jews.

    • You’re absolutely right, they’re perfectly insane. On the plus side, it’s never been easier to identify whom to purge from your ranks. You refuse to make political hay from a nigger riot? Out, out, OUT, damn libtard. Minneapolis could be the 2020 equivalent of BLM and ISIS in 2016 and these fucking lunatics are worried about “outreach”? Fuck me.

God knows if anyone despises conspiratards, it’s me. I must say, though, it would indeed be astute to have operatives from your own side rising to the level of presidential aides on the other side’s team. Deep down I still find it hard to believe, but the pay-off is so enormous that it’s also hard to believe it hasn’t been tried (especially by ykw’s). And at least this is one case in which conspiracy paranoia would actually help rather then hurt — Stalin was a paranoid, and he did some very nasty things, but it’s worth remembering that his moves helped him retain power; or at worst didn’t hurt him.

I thought – I took it practically for granted – that they were going to capitalize on these riots to motivate their voters to show up. Apparently they’re going to do the opposite.

Too early to rush to conclusions. As bad is the libtardism is getting out there, there’s no way we’re the only ones to recognize the political opportunity in this. Heck, at an even deeper conspiratorial level, it would also be astute to subtly imply that “minorities” mindlessly side with the rioters and that one must therefore be cautious about alienating their vote. That is, to imply that Democrats are the black party. (Personally, I would straight up call them that rather than subtly implying it, but maybe that’s just me.)

    • Devil’s Advocate, here.

I don’t think Trump is trying to lose.

      1) A lot of nice, liberal-leaning Whites in the blue metropolitan areas (where a of these riots are occurring) are going to choke on a huge red pill.

      2) No matter how much the “True Conservatives” back the media in sanctifying George Floyd, the last N-word any White with two working brain cells is going to want to call any African-American or person of color is NEIGHBOR,

      3) A lot of these cities the riots are occurring are where the Democrats harvest the most votes.

      4) One of the areas that was destroyed by the riot was an affordable housing complex under construction.

      5) If these cities end up depopulated, the Democrat voting machine is severely crippled.

      6) Yes, Blacks will probably be pushed out to White suburbs. BUT the effect of having an influx of Blacks in a White area is that the Whites react by voting Republican. (Pollsters noted this correlation in the 2016 election. The great non-White population, the more conservative Whites voted).

      7) In the meantime, and here things will get dicey, martial law will probably be imposed and many of these protesters who are stupid enough to buy the okie-dokie and go out joyfully attacking police and looting stores are going to end up in FEMA camps. So, I’d recommend that Whites get hyper-vigilant on TWO fronts. Avoid both Non-Whites and the police like the plague. And quietly stock up on what provisions you can. Even grocery stores were being torched.

One last thing. This COVID meltdown resulted in Mom and Pop Inc. being put out of business. A lot of these companies rented units in strip malls. Thanks to social distancing, big corporations found out that their workers were far more productive working at home than coming into the office. A lot of them won’t be re-leasing blocks of office buildings anymore.

The White man in black with the black hood, black face mask and black umbrella who BLACK protesters were trying to stop as he smashed store windows in a strip mall had what looked like a government issued gas mask on.

My thoughts are that most of these structures being torched are insured to the hilt and it would not surprise me if they have a double-indemnity clause for rioting. Of course, the tragedy of these riots is that the small business owners there worst affected by the race riots will be Black who can’t afford more than a basic slip and slide policy.

  5. Hunter, what kind of historical society comes closest to your ideal non-liberal community? Antebellum South of course, but are there also others? Apartheid South Africa? Lutheran Sweden in the 18th century? Imperial Japan?

  6. Hunter, some things that need to be addressed:

The rise in low-T, incel type males in our scene, who make up a huge portion of the younger alt-right. These people are driving normies away and they have an attraction to toxic memes and nihilism. They see everything as a meme and can’t think strategically.

The semi-red pilled boomers who are dragging more baggage than the Titanic carried into our movement. These types are high in chutzpah and like to start rearranging our movement five seconds after walking into the room. All of their changes are bad.

The lack of interest in party building and elections. All movements in modern history that have seized power have been organized as political parties, no matter how they came to power. Almost all of them contested elections of some kind, no matter how they came to power.

The bizarre hostility towards paganism and the culture of our ancestors among the newer crowd. Without pro-white pagans, there wouldn’t be a pro-white movement today. Germanic paganism provides fertile soil for our values and doesn’t need complicated interpretations to be congruent with what we already
    believe.

The alienation of the alt-right from the white working class. This has become a much more middle class movement than it was. Working class white men in the South and rural America have zero interest in being a trad Cath. or dressing up like a gay English school boy. We are not reaching most white males. Our messaging is implicitly targeted at nerds who like sci-fi and dislike sports.

  7. Gotta be both fair to all people, not just your natural allies, yet ruthless in exercising power on behalf of the forgotten men and women. Finding someone with both strength and compassion is rare. A benevolent dictator. I volunteer myself. SWF UBI is the answer, a general strike is the trigger mechanism.

  8. Patience. The system must collapse before real change can happen. Are we not seeing more of these collapses as time goes on? This distater is like a snowball rolling down hill, small at first but gets bigger and faster as time goes on.

Right now I’m enjoying lecturing the conservatives and liberals in my life on every new collapse, “I told you so. A child could have predicted this would happen. You are dumb, foolish, and incompetant. You destroyed the West.” etc, etc. Good times!

  9. You should not abandon an ideological position just because it has no institutional power. The Jews attack European civilization on a racial level so we need to unit on a racial level. Religion, culture, traditions, all that can come later, the top priority is to secure the race.

White Nationalism needs to be the foundational ideology upon which we build everything else. It may have had no success in entering the mainstream but that is because Jews view it as so dangerous to their plans. Unlike the alt-right white nationalism explicitly rejects Jews and therefore it is ideologically pure. The kind of Kosher Nationalism that Trump preached in 2016 would ultimately be just as bad as the neo-liberalism we have now.

  10. @Mr. Griffin…

“American Nationalists appeal to an American nation that doesn’t exist. White Nationalists appeal to White people who lack a common sense of racial identity. Southern Nationalists appeal to Southerners whose idea of the South is watching SEC football, grilling and chilling and being “open for business.””

Right on all three counts, but, there is something you are neglecting.

    What is that?

Your dismay comes from the fact you have grown extremely frustrated and impatient, the long and the short of which is that you, even if, albeit, very quietly unto yourself, are throwing a wing-dingy.

Think about what you just wrote here – America does not actually exist, except as dense array of corporations. White People are not ‘one’, because White People have never been’ one, anymore than Arabs, Africans, or Orientals have ever been ‘one’.

That leaves #3, ‘Southerners’, and, to that end I’ll say this to you : ——– no matter how convoluted our current sense of ourselves is, we still are a living breathing real entity, of which, by the way, we have more of than we have ever had before, even if we suffer collectively from sonnambulism.

Circumstances, however, can change, are changing, and will continue to change, and during those turns of fate, their will come a point in time when when we will feel compelled to once again take up being who we are, and, indeed, always have been.

I have seen this process too many times in friends who, determined to escape from themselves, went on torturous routes, until, one day, they realized it was a fare, trudged back home, and took up where they left off.

This kind of story has played out so many many times in human history, both in the individual and collective senses, to ever doubt that the same thing is at work here.

Nothing more clearly points this out than how smitten Britain was by the idea of being roman, almost 2,000 years ago, yet, when The Romans went home, after a centuries long stay, The Brits gradually returned to being Brits.

Where are we in the cycle?

At the very bottom, which means that the coming decades can only bring the possibility of betterment.

Enjoy your still young life, your family, life in Eufala, and bide your time patiently.

Your day will come, and so will that of your beloved son.

    • “Where are we in the cycle?

At the very bottom, which means that the coming decades can only bring the possibility of betterment.”

LOL you think we are at the “bottom”???

I raff 6 mirron time at that. (insert yao ming lol meme)

  11. America has always been a nation in search of itself. Always looking, never finding. It has redefined itself time and time again.I can only point to the Afrikaners. British persecution of their women and children during the Boer wars turned them into a nation. When the National Party took power in 1948 and began a separate development program the future looked bright. Then they wanted to be liked and accepted by the world and began to doubt themselves and the path they were on here we are.I have long since accepted in my mind the United States is terminal. One cannot save both the white race and the United States simultaneously. One of the other has to go. To attempt to save both is a waste of energy and an exercise in futility. Donald Trump is living proof to those who have eyes to see and ears to hear that the system cannot be reformed from within. At least this late in the game history has afforded us a golden opportunity to ascertain what political toxins are destroying-and will destroy- the United States so said toxins do not take root and grow in the Ethno-State.

“All America is becoming one vast insane asylum.” Ezra Pound. America is truly the world’s largest outdoor political experiment and it it has failed miserably.

  12. “White Nationalists appeal to White people who lack a common sense of racial identity.”

That doesn’t discredit or disprove white nationalism. You know all the factors as to why whites are the way they are, and to act like white nationalism is useless or fake because white people are brainwashed against it is weak and insincere. You could make that judgement on Southern Identity, or pretty much any identity which the system is trying to destroy.

Abandoning the obvious solution to our problems, which is WHITE PEOPLE TAKING THEIR OWN SIDE, is literally what the enemy wants you to do.

You need to take a break Hunter.

  13. “ Truth be told, American Nationalism, White Nationalism and Southern Nationalism were all ultimately based on some form of liberalism.

There is just the ruins of an Arby’s burning in the twilight.”

Couldn’t have said it better Hunter! I am saving this abstract because its the best summary I’ve ever read.

  14. How exactly is white nationalism based on liberalism? And racial identity can’t just go away, anymore than a man can become a woman. But it can be artificially suppressed by the powers at be. Don’t make the mistake that the libertarians do and assume every other person is a rational being capable of making informed decisions about the world by looking at all the facts. No, the vast majority of people really are lemmings that believe whatever they are told to believe.
