The 1619 Project

I haven’t read any of the essays yet from The 1619 Project from The New York Times that has conservatives flipping out across the internet.

It is my understanding that the mainstream media has finally ditched covering the news and has pivoted from the Trump-Russia narrative to the Trump-white supremacy narrative. This was admitted by executive editor Dean Baquet in a transcript linked to Slate:

“It got trickier after [inaudible] … went from being a story about whether the Trump campaign had colluded with Russia and obstruction of justice to being a more head-on story about the president’s character. We built our newsroom to cover one story, and we did it truly well. Now we have to regroup, and shift resources and emphasis to take on a different story. I’d love your help with that. As Audra Burch said when I talked to her this weekend, this one is a story about what it means to be an American in 2019. It is a story that requires deep investigation into people who peddle hatred, but it is also a story that requires imaginative use of all our muscles to write about race and class in a deeper way than we have in years. In the coming weeks, we’ll be assigning some new people to politics who can offer different ways of looking at the world. We’ll also ask reporters to write more deeply about the country, race, and other divisions. I really want your help in navigating this story.

If you’re independent, that’s what you do. The same newspaper that this week will publish the 1619 Project, the most ambitious examination of the legacy of slavery ever undertaken in [inaudible] newspaper, to try to understand the forces that led to the election of Donald Trump.  …”

According to The New York Times, The 1619 Project “aims to reframe the country’s history, understanding 1619 as our true founding, and placing the consequences of slavery and the contributions of black Americans at the very center of the story we tell ourselves about who we are.” In other words, this has nothing to do with American history or the 400th anniversary of the arrival of the first slaves in Virginia. This is all about getting Blompf and the politics of the 2020 election.

Here’s my take on this:

1.) First, the forces that led to the election of Donald Trump are the same forces that led to the election of Bolsonaro in Brazil or BREXIT in the United Kingdom or Victor Orbán in Hungary or Salvini in Italy. It is part of an ongoing global surge in populism and nationalism and the breakdown of liberalism. The actual roots of this phenomenon trace back to the 1960s and 1970s.

2.) Second, this phenomenon has nothing to do with the “legacy of slavery.” In the aftermath of the Second World War and especially since the Cold War, liberalism has bestrode the world like a colossus. Liberalism crested in the 1990s when the Soviet Union collapsed. It was proclaimed at the time by triumphalists that liberal capitalist democracy was the “End of History.” The current era is breaking down.

3.) Third, the abolition of slavery in the 19th century was part of the historic upswing of liberalism and free-market capitalism. It was part of the triumph of industrialism over agrarianism.

4.) Fourth, it is important to remember that liberal democracy and free-market capitalism barely survived the 20th century. For most of the 20th century, liberal democracy and free-market capitalism were under siege by fascism on the Right and communism on the Left. Since the 1990s, liberal democracy and free-market capitalism hasn’t faced an ideological challenger and the system has spread across the world largely unopposed and the flaws in that model have become increasingly obvious.

5.) Fifth, the proper way to see “the forces that led to the election of Donald Trump” is that liberal democracy and free-market capitalism have peaked like a ball that has been thrust high into the air. Now, the ball is starting to fall and it is rapidly descending in the early 21st century and people are dissatisfied and turning away again from wealthy liberal elites and are searching for a new system that can foster greater order, stability, solidarity and cohesion in a rapidly changing society.

It was assumed by our liberal elites that after the fall of communism that liberal democracy and free-market capitalism would prove itself and satisfy human needs. We appear to be finding out that isn’t the case. Maybe our system will also go the way of communism when enough people stop believing in it and going along with it. Blompf is just a hiccup in the larger arc of this story.

  1. While we are on the subject of slavery shall we discuss the Jewish owners of the Slave ships? The Nation of Islam discusses this forgotten history in great depth. (((Aaron Lopez))) is but one of many Jewish merchants that profiteered from the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade. Perhaps we should distribute this factual information in black neighborhoods nationwide. I’d rather be historically correct than politically correct.

    • I find myself agreeing with the NOI for all the “wrong” reasons. There is a famous clip of Khalid Muhammad on the old Phil Donahue Show, with a largely black audience. Some old Jew comes on and does the whole song and dance about Jews helping Blacks. The topic of the Three (((Civil Rights))) workers killed in Mississippi comes up. Muhammad implies that the two Jews were cruising for black men.

Farrakhan used to talk about the Jewish role in the slave trade all the time. It’s been a while, but there was some clip I saw that was an hour long of him dropping red pills about Jews in the Slave Trade.

    • No no no you don’t understand, only white people can be slave owners! even though there is documented proof of Jewish, arab, spanish and others being mostly the biggest instigators behind slavery.

The majority of slave owners will magically always be white people and even though hardline slavery was 150 years ago we will always be vilified as the ultimate evildoers beyond forgiveness and redemption

    • The jews literally created the institution of sub-saharan slavery. They took the sugar cane the Moors brought into Iberia, then experimented on the islands of Africa with enslaving sub-saharans, and not long after discovered that the Caribbean was more hospitable to the plant’s cultivation.

Entire islands in the Caribbean were populated by jews and devoted to the harvesting of sugar cane, and to its sale.

  2. Most people don’t read the Slimes, or any newspaper. Even though most fellow whiteys are too afraid to go against the official narrative, they also don’t go seeking it out. This project will only have an effect on elitist “intellectuals” in their self-important circles. They can’t rewrite history without pushback anymore, or take what I know of it out of my head. Screw ’em. This will fail just as badly as did their moronic Russian interference propaganda.

  3. The current system leads to the Abolition of Man, not merely in the psychic sense, but the physical.

  4. The 1619 Project

Is just another subversion and distraction, and an attack on White Civilisation in North America.

    • Yeah, Africans were transported to a modern Western society in America, leaving behind the stone age cannibalism of Africa.

  5. Nobody I know ever reads the times, and more and more to most people they are just background noise. You should see how much they have tried to get me to read it by constantly trying get me to use their payed site. Your right. The historical tides is beginning to come back in, and those who benfitted from the way things are, are beginning to notice the ground beginning to move away from them. Liberalism is a creaky, leaky boat, not too seaworthy, and eventually will sink, taking much of its moral depravity with it. I’m 56, and I hope by the end of my life, like Moses, to see it on its way out.

    • They’ve been doing that for the past 60 years. The damage has already been done.

    • Haxo,

I am not claiming that Mexicans are our ally, but I’ve met a lot of Mexicans that absolutely hate and despise blacks. The same could be said for Arabs and Hindus that operate convenience stores and gas stations in black neighborhoods. Some of the most adamant anti public housing advocates have been small business owners that were POC.

There are a lot of races and ethnicities aligned against both jews and blacks.

Not all POC have drank the kumbaya kool-aid. Hell, even most blacks hate other blacks. Have you ever spoken to a black African about North American negros? They find our jiggaboos revolting.

      • You ever talk to a Jamaican or other Caribbean islander about American blacks? Hooboy, the raycist talk about lazy and stupid blacks gets amplified to 11.

      • November,

You hit the nail on the head with this comment. Especially the first paragraph. My father once knew a Jamaican girl who absolutely loathed American blacks and asked my father how people put up with them. He said everyone just pretends. And that was around 1980 when he was a teenager.

      • The Mexican Mafia was founded by a white guy by the name of Joseph “Pegleg” Morgan. The Mexican Mafia was a gang of Mestizos and Whites who banded together against the Blacks.

Though no one on this board is thrilled with idea of miscegenation, the Non-Whites that Whites – both men and women – engage in intermarriage with the most are not Asians or Blacks, but with Latinx. But that’s not all.

One guy I know from Miami told me that a lot of Whites there have changed their name to something Hispanic and identify as such, so they can walk away from any anti-White discrimination and take advantage of any of the benefits available to Hispanics.

So I take away from what I see and what I’ve been told that despite the best efforts of the Miscegenation Maniacs to get Whites to swirl with Blacks, they have gotten very adept at sidestepping the whole issue. Those who don’t get with Hispanics, pretend to be Hispanics.

For all the chortling the Left is doing about Whites being in the minority, I think that will not be the case at all. Whites claiming any kind of Anglo-Celtic origin will diminish while Whites with Latino surnames are going to explode by leaps and bounds.

  6. We need another King Odoacer to declare the West no longer has any need of neo-liberal democracy or free market capitalism.

  7. The 1619 Project is Communist alternate history propaganda to cause racial strife by favoring blacks over whites.

The Jamestown settlement in the Colony of Virginia was the FIRST PERMANENT ENGLISH SETTLEMENT in the Americas. It was located on the northeast bank of the James (Powhatan) River about 2.5 mi (4 km) southwest of the center of modern Williamsburg. It was established by the Virginia Company of London as “James Fort” on May 4, 1607 O.S.;(May 14, 1607 N.S.), and was considered permanent after a brief abandonment in 1610. It followed several failed attempts, including the Lost Colony of Roanoke, established in 1585 on Roanoke Island. Jamestown served as the colonial capital from 1616 until 1699…

  8. Liberalism begot socialism and socialism begot fascism. There is no fascism without socialism. Liberalism fails to meet the needs of the people, which socialism can try to do. The inherent contradiction of socialism is a world wide brotherhood when no such thing exists nor can it be forced, so the logical arc is for socialism within nations: ala fascism, however this means a militant force must arise to counter the belligerent repressions of liberalism and socialism in soft and hard forms. I cannot be certain of this, who can be?

liberalism’s victory was a fluke that did not solve the problems, World War II masked the issue by leaving the United States a strategic victor. But now the United States is arching into the historical process… simply put: history is on our side.

We are just going to have to let the Left meme us into socialism, and then the polarization required for a *chance* at victory will present itself.

  9. 1619: Best thing that ever happened to Africans, was when they were transported to a modern western society in America, escaping the stone age cannibalism & barbarism of Africa.

    • The Negroes didn’t change their ways in the New World, they are still cannibals, spearchuckers and headhunters in the ghetto. BTW, 80% of ’em were shipped to Brazil and the Caribbean, not America. A small fact that the schvartzes and their jew trainers conveniently overlook.

  10. I just don’t consider the Nigger worthy of my interest, compassion, or consideration as a White person. NOR do I have ANY guilt over their utter failure. They are an abomination of a ‘chay of the field,’ and nothing more. Let them all go back to Africa. Period.

  11. About 15 years ago, I read a book titled, “Should America Pay? Slavery and The Raging Debate on Reparations.” It’s a compilation of essays that are both pro and con, although it mostly contains pro-reparations arguments. I have been meaning to re-read it, because it has, once again, become a timely discussion. But, from what I recall, the pro-reparations angle is to seek redress from institutions that directly benefited from the slave trade. This would include the predecessors of, and by default, current shipping firms and insurance companies; colleges; and local, state and federal governments; among other entities. As of yet, there doesn’t appear to be any indications of targeting individuals who are descended from Slave owners, but who knows how far they will go? At the time the book was published in 2001, a couple of universities had already acceded to the demands of Negro agitators and their (((lawyers))). Additionally, the book cited numerous parallels to the reparations claims that set legal precedents both here and internationally. Among them were some Aboriginal displacement settlements, atonement for Japanese internment, and payments made to Holoco$t survivors and their families, and those who could emote well enough to convince people that they fit into one of the minority grievance lottery categories.

Interestingly, as I remember, there was little, if any, mention of the Jewish role in the slave trade. Isn’t it strange how that seemingly important aspect always tends to be inadvertently left out of the debate?
