Operation Ajax

Update: We have a new tweet from President Trump on Iran this morning. We also have one from Ayatollah Ali Khamenei blaming the Deep State.

In light of the events in Iran, I have been doing some reading to refresh my memory of how the CIA overthrew the nationalist government of Mohammad Mossadeq in 1953. This excerpt comes from Sandra Mackey’s book, The Iranians: Persia, Islam and the Soul of a Nation:

“Meanwhile in Tehran, thirty-seven-year-old Kermit Roosevelt, the twelve-thousand-dollar-a-year head of the CIA’s Middle East operations and grandson of Teddy, had released the trigger on “Operation Ajax.” Employing bribery and contacts provided by British intelligence in the police, armed force, and the bazaar, he deftly wove together a royalist coalition of the aristocracy, industrialists, major merchants, disillusioned members of the National Front and the handful of political clerics who had joined Mossadeq in 1951. On August 18, the day the shah arrived in Rome, the Iranian army, reacting to the possibility that the Tudeh might for the next government, came out of the barracks to crush street demonstrations in the name of the shah. With the army secured, Roosevelt sent a throng hired in south Tehran for one hundred thousands dollars marching toward Mossadeq’s office in the heart of the city …

The coup triumphed with a speed that surprised even its most ardent supporters. With nine hundred thousand of the million dollars originally set aside for Operation Ajax remaining, Kermit Roosevelt and the royalist coalition surveyed the realm of Muhammad Reza Shah cleansed of those who threatened the throne. In Rome, the man under whose name the coup was staged sat with his wife at lunch in the dining room of the Excelsior Hotel. They were ignorant of events in Tehran until a young reporter from the Associated Press rushed to the table and handed the shah a piece of paper from the wire. “Mossadeq overthrown. Imperial troops control Tehran.” Soraya burst into tears. Muhammad Reza Shah went pale and reportedly whispered, I knew that they loved me.”

Acting on the orders of President Dwight Eisenhower, Kermit Roosevelt hired the mob that overthrew Mossadeq for a hundred thousand dollars. The shah was out of the loop. The driving force behind the coup was the Cold War with the Soviet Union. Ring any bells?

  1. This is the central fact of the modern situation: the New Silk Road.

This road will allow China to trade with the Mediterranean without worrying about US Naval hegemony threatening to shut it down in a crisis.

They would be able to pour 10 million troops into the Middle East in a week (where they really would be greeted as liberators).

This is why they are so desperate to stop the Shia Crescent: Lebanon – Syria – Iraq – Iran – Afghanistan – China. It connects the Pacific to the Atlantic over the land.

The Russian and Chinese Railroads are already linked. There’s been passenger and mail service instituted between Moscow and Beijing. The two nation’s banks have opened branches in each other’s capital cities. They swap gold now, on trade deals. Iran is linking her Railroads to Russia’s. The Iranians are buying reactors from Gidropress in Russia and looking to order electric locomotives. They want an electric grid that doesn’t use petroleum that can be cut off by the U.S. and U.K. They’re also building container ports and training up a skilled, industrial workforce. They already have a native computer and electronics industry. They’ve hacked a USAF drone and brought it down, intact, inside their territory.

A Chinese intermodal container train has traveled over the Russian, and other European Railroads, via the “Chunnel,” to England. It was faster, by far, than a container ship.

They’re adding new double track lines and even guage changing stations, to the New Silk(rail) Road. And new, parallel highways.

The BRICS countries intend to become net industrial/agricultural exporters. Rather than net importers. They aim to become independent in all things and tell USZOG, BRITZOG, and EUROZOG to piss off.

Japan will eventually gain independence from USZOG and become a regional nuclear power with a much larger and more powerful navy and air forces.

  2. At least back then, they didn’t invent complex, stupid names for their operations, that sounded like the juvenile imaginings of semi nerdy teenagers, up to criminal mischief. “Operation Desert Storm” “Operation Enduring Freedom.” These were hokey and lazy. Nothing like operations”Crusader,” “Battleaxe,” or “Totalize.”

  3. Sounds like CIA propaganda. Trump upset their plan by removing the US from the TPP.
Obama and the CIA were well on the way of creating a war with China, by trying to restrict their trade with other Countries. Trump is willing to let trade control the relationships of the various Countries as long as the US is treated fairly in trade Just as China is trying to provide economic growth for their Country, so is Trump for our Country.

  4. For the last year+ I’ve heard that foreign hacking, collusion, interference and meddling in other countries’ elections and domestic affairs is bad. I’m a little confused here…

    Bloodthirsty hypocrites.

  5. No China isnt the central fact of the middle east. ZIONISM and Eretz ISRAEL is the driving beast behind the New Middle East. You aholes are masters at naming EVERY diversionary source of the problem than the one it actually is: ZIONIST demands to be hegemon of the region. PS: why is there no “democracy” coups in the brutalist Muslim dictatorships that are compliant to The Tribe? Like Saudi Arabia?
