Nimrata “Nikki” Haley, the United States Ambassador to the United Nations, personifies the Chamber of Commerce approach to conservatism. She places business interests over those of identity, unlike Southern Nationalists and those on the Alt-Right or ethno-nationalists in general. She advocates admitting large numbers of “properly vetted legal immigrants, regardless of their race or religion. Just like we have for centuries.” In fact, until 1965 immigration to the US was limited to Europeans, restricted on the basis of race and nationality. So, Haley is either misinformed or attempting to re-write history. Either way, she has said that “No one who is willing to work hard, abide by our laws, and love our traditions should ever feel unwelcome in this country.” This could potentially include billions of people from the Third World. America is just a “dream” to Haley – one which is radically universalist. This ideology contrasts sharply with the healthy, traditional Southern world-view and identity.
