There Won’t Be A New Afrika

Billy Roper writes:

“Likewise, the Mississippi Valley and Black Belt stretching across the five states of the deep south will make it into what they are already calling ‘New Africa’. Any late-coming Civil War reenactors there who want to whistle ‘Dixie’ had better make it the short version.

In this new article Southern Nationalist Hunter Wallace, a.k.a. Brad Griffin of the League of the South, a man certainly worthy of respect and admiration for his principled stand for our people, agonizes in a convoluted effort to define who a Southerner is, culturally and ethnically and geographically, so as to not draw too fine a line and limit his pool of potential supporters.

I suggest something even more noble than fighting for a lost cause, or taking a martyr’s stand on the green graves of your sires, or around your local Confederate memorial monument.

New America: Your ancestors crossed oceans, mountains, and wildernesses to give their descendants, you, a better life. Won’t you give your progeny the same shot? …”

I’ve spent years discussing the same issue with Matt Heimbach.

I’m a native of the Alabama Black Belt. This is my home. I’ve lived virtually my entire life in this region. I’m a Southern Nationalist, not a White Nationalist.

There is a misperception among White Nationalists about our region. They look at census maps and imagine that huge numbers of blacks must live here. That’s really not the case at all though. The Alabama Black Belt, the Mississippi Delta and the rest of the old plantation belts have been depopulating for over a century now. Historically speaking, the black population used to be concentrated in the rural South, but now it is heavily urbanized. They’ve moved to the big cities.

Case in point, 34 percent of the black population, 11 percent of the Asian population, and 31 percent of the Hispanic population lives in the Deep South. I’m defining the Deep South to include the 7 states of the original Confederacy. Nearly half of the black population in the Deep South lives in Florida and Texas. 3/4ths of the black population in the Deep South lives in Florida, Georgia and Texas.

Alabama is 68 percent White. The United States as a whole is 62.8 percent White. How do we explain this? How did the United States become less White than Alabama? It’s because the United States is changing so much faster than the Deep South!

Marengo County, AL is 51% black. There were about 20,000 people in Marengo County in 2015. In 1910, there were 40,000 people living there. In a nutshell, Marengo County, AL is why there will never be any Republic of New Afrika in the Deep South.

1.) First, the black population has been migrating away from the region for a century now as they have become superfluous to its agriculture, manufacturing and commerce. They’re dreaming of living in a big city like Da ATL or some prosperous Whitopia. That’s where they are all going.

2.) Second, the black population doesn’t believe in racial separatism. The average African-American prefers to live in a mixed neighborhood. They don’t want to live in a neighborhood that is too black. It is Whites who want to live apart from blacks, not the other way around.

3.) Third, the black population that does live here is sustained by the largesse of the federal welfare state and have desire to disrupt that cozy arrangement.

Maybe this is a racist analogy and I agree it is a bit mean, but they are not unlike locusts. Once they destroy an area, the swarm moves on. They’re leaving both the Alabama Black Belt and Detroit. From my perspective on the ground, the swarm continues its exodus from here every year. My area is becoming emptier and more rural every year. It is really becoming easier to live here.

It is really cheap to live here. I’ve got high speed internet access now. I don’t have to deal with these people. The low population density seems to have a moderating effect on the black population. When they are piled on top of each other like in Atlanta or Detroit, they are a lot more dangerous.

Basically, I am trying to say here that the American negro has become an urbanite. The vast majority of them live in urban areas. In Alabama, they are concentrated in Birmingham, Mobile and Montgomery while a smaller number of them live in rural parts of the Black Belt. We really can’t separate from the black population without cutting ourselves off from the centers of our civilization.

The Black Panthers were founded in Lowndes County, AL. In the 1970s, blacks took power in Lowndes County, which has lost 2/3rds of its population since 1910. Drive through Bloody Lowndes in 2017 and your overwhelming impression of it will be that it has become a depopulated wilderness. The idea that huge numbers of blacks are going to move to Lowndes County and become farmers or something and an independent country resonates in White Nationalist circles.

It will never happen though. The reality is that the few blacks that are left behind will continue to be pushed out over the next fifty years. The real problem we have here is that Whites are leaving too. If we could only reverse that trend, we could easily gentrify the Black Belt.

Again, I will say that life is becoming better in the rural South, at least in some ways. There are fewer people living here. If you live in the Mississippi Delta, it is really bad, but at the same you notice there is an exodus going on and wonder what that means for the future!

Note: I do have some friends in the Harrison area though. The Ozarks are beautiful. I have mused about what it would be like to live there, but my home will always be the Gulf Coastal Plain.

      • Black, red and Green are based on the colors adopted from Marcus Garvey’s Universal Negro Improvement Association. At his height Garvey owned a fleet of ships and thought the answer to black dis-empowerment was to relocate to Africa. One of the things our side does not like to talk about is how his program was sabotaged by chamber of commerce types, and white supremacists elements, who did not want Negroes to go back to Africa. They needed them here as a cheap labor force they could exploit. So consequentially Garvey was sent to prison for tax fraud- a catch all phrase they use to entrap white racialists now when all else fails.

  1. I wasnt born here, but Im not leaving. This is a convo Ive had numerous times with mainly Eastern based allies who have never lived in the South. I am a firm believer that it is not good enough to only know who you are, but also know who you are not.

An isolated community in Antarctica, or anywhere for that matter, will only spawn a non believing second and third generation.

  2. Brad, this was a very well considered response based on your perspective. My perspective, here in the Ozarks, is that I meet new White people virtually every day who have moved here from Mississippi and Louisiana, primarily. They euphemistically state that they have come for the fresh mountain air, or the lower crime rate, or the better schools, or any of a dozen other reasons, but you and I both know why they’ve come. Every once in a while, they will even admit it. At the risk of indulging in self-promotion, in my book ‘The Balk’, I document by the numbers how blacks are indeed moving from the large urban areas of the midwest and northeast to the deep south. Your point that they are moving to urban areas rather than to the rural south is a valid one, I’m sure.
To be honest, if you are correct that some areas of the South, or even all of the South, can be ethnically cleansed, then noone would be more happy than myself to see that happen. As a Southern Nationalist rather than a White Nationalist, you may not even require that, though. Wherever I call our new nation, north, south, east, or west, will be a White nation, exclusively. Yes, I’m a White Nationalist who happens to be a southerner. I wish you well and the best of luck in your mission, which is well-intentioned. -Best Regards, Billy

    • My mother-in-law recently moved out to rural northern Missouri.

It is really nice up there. I enjoyed it. If we ever moved away from here, I imagine we would move up there to be closer to my wife’s family. I was surprised by the lack of negroes, the corn and the presence of Confederate flags.

Last summer, I went hiking in the Missouri Ozarks. I noticed lots of Confederate flags in the Ironton area as we rode through there.

      • Yes, the county I live in is 96% White. All of the adjacent counties to us are over 95% White, as well. My parents moved to Northern Arkansas specifically because of the demographics from where they had lived in the extreme southern end of the state, which is just about the reverse in some areas there. My dad was from southern Arkansas, my mom from southern Louisiana, and both had lived in Mississippi.

I’ve been through your area many times, as well, driving north to south, and love the northern part of the state. I’ve also visited Montgomery, Mobile, and Gulf Shores.

It could be that if America balkanizes, and there is a New Africa, it may be a very short-lived affair centered along the Mississippi Valley and a few urban pockets such as Atlanta. I have no doubt that if we once again have control over our own destiny as a people, we also will hold the commensurate will to handle our obsolete farm machinery however we desire, eventually. I don’t totally share your confidence that hordes of them spilling out of the cities into the surrounding countryside wouldn’t make the situation untenable for our people in many rural areas of the deep south for the short term, however.

That having been said, I’m reminded of President Reagan’s statement that those who agree with you on eighty percent of the issues are not your twenty percent enemy, they are your eighty percent friend. I respect you, as well as the work you do, and however the hypothetical future plays out for our people, either of us being correct would be preferable to the status quo.

        -Billy

        • ‘It could be that if America balkanizes, and there is a New Africa, it
may be a very short-lived affair centered along the Mississippi Valley
and a few urban pockets such as Atlanta.’

We have over a million rural Negroes in Northeastern North Carolina, and just as many right over the border in Southeastern Virginia.

They would not be going anywhere; and, brusquely put, I am not sure how Ole Dominion would work out, as so much of it is scalawagged, even way beyond that of NC.

I agree with you that hordes of city Negroes would never be spilling out into the countryside, in any case, as they not only lie rural skills, city Negroes seem to fear living amongst those whom they regard as the unreconstructed White Supremacist White Southern rural Man.

Doing face to face research on this subject for a new novel,, lately, I have been surprised to find out just how successful New England Government propaganda about Southron Whites has been – because they still worry about us.

Your quote on Reagan is a good one.

        • Blacks aren’t going anywhere. If we get a rational political system most that will happen is the cops will once again take off the gloves and crack down on black crime. The nasty 1/3 will be in jail where they belong, the talented tenth will have decent jobs, and the rest of them will be kicked off welfare and be forced to have gainful employment and some semblance of family life. No more government coddling single motherhood.

          • I used to live in Harrison, now I live about two hours east of there, in an area that’s actually even Whiter. But yes, I am familiar with KIM. They’re a good source for Christian Identity material.

      • A lot fly in Southern Virginia, Sir – amidst the rolling hill and endless horse farms, cow-fields, and corn and tobacco fields.

          • …People who talk a lot but say nothing.
The Hillary electoral win was because of her winning the vote in the urban population centers of northern Virginia (the suburbs of Washington DC), Hampton Roads and Richmond.
You can be assured that the southern Virginia that Mr. Daniel is referring to DID NOT vote for the Beast.

          • Absolutely! Northern Virginia is occupied territory now. It has been infested by foreigners and NY/NJ Yankees. All of the natives have fled to the mountains or down 95. The rest of the state is very red and very conservative (excepting a few places like Charlottesville and maybe Hampton Roads).

          • That came about from the stupidity of Geo. W. Bush and the GOP happily aided by the Democrats. The Reps not only failed to cut govt. spending, they went crazy with it. Today, we that the Dept. of Homeland “Security” as a monument to their ignorance. That and the other govt, agencies who sizes increase were filler with drones most of whom reside in Virginia. It makes me sick at heart.

        • Southern WV did not vote to secede. We were forced into it. We are extremely southern and consider ourselves southern. Northern WV are Yankees through and through. I have 30+ confederate soldier ancestors. My grandmother flies the confederate battle flag from her house on the side of a mountain in southern WV and I fly the bonnie blue.

      • Those flags are like a Transylvanian hanging garlic and a crucifix outside their home, the repel blacks. Most blacks think there still is a very real dangerous Klan out in these small midwestern towns and it keeps them away. I see commonly see these flags in small town Indiana.

    • Should the South become independent my fear is it will lapse into inaction or reactionary politics. I want a government that is proactive in the defense of our people. In an independent South that means one that has a strict immigration and citizenship policy in addition to governmental action to raise the white birthrate as Putin is doing in Russia! I have read Roper’s books. His plan for New America ( a term I do not like however as I feel we are already living in New America) is one that includes the upper South. I know his version of a future nation will adopt proactive measures and will not lapse into reactionary thinking. Can Southern Nationalists assure us of the same?

  3. Good points. And NEEDED for the larger WN community. As I have tried in vain to explain to a few commenters on here, the county level demographics map you see with all the purple for blacks is very misleading. These counties have very small populations and its not like they are all overwhelmingly black. Counties like Jefferson and Clairborne in MS are big time outliers. I have even had an OD commenter respond to me saying this is my home and I’m not leaving with ” Then you will die, Mr. Wayne.” Um, drama much? I will die because my county with 10,000 ppl in it is 56% black and 44% white? We are outnumbered by less than the capacity of the local high school gymnasium. This means we don’t have a prayer? It is completely ignorant and flat out ludicrous. We are totally fine here. We’ve got this. Thanks for putting the info out there for non-Southern WNs.

    • Mr. Wayne – Yankee White Nationalists are most often bonkers on the subject of Southern Negroes, not to mention a whole host of other Southern subjects.

And, in this grim Russian Front mentality that they have, they cannot imagine it that, all in all, we get along well with each other – even though, as you well know, we stay separate in schools, barber-shoppes, churches, and funerals.

Also, when Northerners think of Negroes, they think of their criminally degenerate urban welfare Negroes – a very different shade of Black than their Southern rural cousins – many of whom are so church-going, they are better behaved than a goodly percentage of Northern Whites, and this I know from firsthand experience.

      • Not to mention Junius, that the blacks that are here locally do have connection to the land through their last names. Those same plantation family descendants are here as well as their slaves progeny.

If we look back and compare the separate but equal South to our current situation and judge it honestly, blacks were better off then.

I am more of a segregationist in my views on handling our problems.

Mr.Wallace most salient point is #2.

  4. Its funny how wherever the ‘equal’ race exist in large numbers , the standard of living , or quality of life for those around them deteriorates. A coincidence ? More crime , more drugs , more rapes more unemployment …I could go on.
Wherever blacks are in the West , they have nothing to offer and are a burden and curse on the hosts. They’re expensive and dangerous and they’re also extremely racist. Black pride is fine. White pride …thats ‘waycist bro’.

    • Agree with you totally. I have spent some time in Brazil and it is exactly as you say. You can go anywhere as long as it is dominantly white area in that country but if you veer into areas of majority blacks you will immediately see the problems. Everywhere you encounter trouble it is always blacks.

I just came back from the east coast and must say that there seems to be the worst blacks in the country. Arrogant and aggressive. It very well may be that it is all a matter of numbers. My rough guess is that as they approach ten percent or more of a population they begin to contribute plus eighty percent of the the troubles….

In the end we should have all learned from the south who had long ago figured out how to keep the peace between the two races….segregate….

  5. What it comes down to, once again, is individuals with no experience or knowledge of the South, defining it for us, instead of us defining it.

    • Mr. Owen, Southerners have many gifts, but, as a rule, philosophy and the verbiage of it, are not our gifts.

It’s something special about being with the likes of you, Mr. Saint, Miss Sunshine, Mr. Wayne, Mr. Cushman, Mr. Jenkins, and Mr. Griffin, Mr. Crews, Mr. Tubbs, Mr. Hines, and Dr. Hill, as y’all are viciously articulate and philosophically clear-headed to a crystal.

      • The way I see it is that all the problems that the South has with the North their own fault. When a Yankee is annoyed, you know it. (See Donald Trump’s pressers. He’s actually being very polite and restrained for a New Yorker). But normally, a Yankee swears like a sailor on shore leave waking up with the hangover from hell. Even on a good day, he’s rude. And Yankees are not famous for hospitality … with good reason.

But with the South; all that chivalry and civility and great hospitality and the sweet Southern drawl, it’s like, were getting along like a house on fire and then, BAM! You want to SECEDE?!!! Up until you fired on Fort Sumter, we thought you loved us! What’s up with that?! WTF?!!!

        • There was tension between North and South going back to the colonial period. It finally flared up in 1861. BTW, the first shots of the War Between the States were fired in Baltimore, not in Charleston harbor.

  6. I’d really like to move down South but away from the coloreds. Maybe rural Alabama is the place to be? President Jeff Davis’ mansion on the Gulf Coast in Mississippi is in a nice area. I’ll have to go through Dixie again in the near future.

      • I couldn’t believe it, but there are blacks in southern WV. Beckley, the bigger city near us, is 20% black! In my entire life I think I have seen ONE black in Beckley. They are in Lewisburg too, yet I have never seen them there either! Not at the Fair, nowhere!! I think they must keep to their areas. But they’re there. So don’t be surprised. Oh I have seen a few mulatto kids there but I figured the mothers found a black in Charleston or somewhere but when I finally went to Charleston I didn’t see any blacks there either!

    • There are places. The north end of my county in the FL panhandle is all white. Our county is something like 86-89% white. But our neighboring county is massively black. So it evens out I guess. You don’t see many here even driving through. Which is why I’m here. I think there’s a few mulattoes in my kid’s school but that’s it.

  7. In one of the Appalachian podcasts that was linked here, at Occidental Dissent, not long ago, one of the speakers laughed about whites of the flatland South, i.e., about their being positioned with a large black population. As I heard him, I wondered whether the racial demography of the South would seem to me different from what I’m used to, here in Philadelphia. I don’t know, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the answer is no.

That’s not to say the South wouldn’t be different. Close to forty years ago, maybe, when I had a layover in Atlanta’s airport, I watched a white janitor do a kind of Stepin Fetchit act for the young, not-especially-attractive black women who were working behind a food-counter that he, too, was behind, with a mop or broom. This, I guess, was fairly early in the rise of Atlanta as a black-run city. It was unlike anything I’d ever seen—and I’ve still seen nothing like it.

    • John, in North Carolina., the hilly areas have few Blacks, and the mountain areas nearly none.

Of our state’s 8,000,000+ residents, 1,840,000+ of them are Negro, and They almost all live in the olde plantation areas with me -so wretched was life with us, back in the days of yore, that, whenever they try to go away, they soon come back…

    • I said up thread that my part of Appalachia has blacks. Beckley is 20% black. But I’ve never seen one there in all my years of shopping and visiting relatives in the hospital or going to eat on special occasions. I guess they mined coal but my family are miners and nobody has ever mentioned blacks in the mines. Seems like it would be dangerous, they’d just blend in down there. Steve Harvey is from WV, can you believe that?

      • I’m starting to conclude that, as a Northerner, I live in the black part of the country. Just checked Wikipedia and saw that Steve Harvey’s father was a coal miner, there in West Virginia (a place called Welch, about fifty miles from Beckley).

  8. ‘Alabama is 68 percent White. The United States as a whole is 62.8 percent White.’

    North Carolina is 69% White.

Before the massive influx of Latins, over the last three decades, it was 77% White.

  9. I feel most at home in N. Florida and Southern Alabama. The area in and around Dothan seems like a good place to live. Good people. Total opposite of the horror show that is downtown Miami.

  10. Let’s cut through the issue of blood, and get down to something we don’t often discuss – environment.

I say this because where a man lives, and with whom, has a lot to do with how the tendencies in his blood shape him.

Environmental influence is an incredibly important factor, and when folks are discussing Negroes, you rarely see any indication that they are familiar with the huge difference of fatherless shiftless welfare Negroes, who have been raised in New England Government Democrat Party cities (north or south) and those Negroes who have been reared with an intact family, an active church life, and work – all the things that come with living in communities with traditional conservative values, NOT run by The New England Government Democrats.

  11. I told you earlier about the Ryne maps, breaking down 2016 by precinct, when Ryne put up Alabama.

    http://rynerohla.com/index.html/election-maps/2016-presidential-general-election-maps/

In fact, he’s almost done with the whole country. One way to demonstrate your point is this: Look at Mississippi and Arkansas. If you only look at the county-level color maps, and you were racially aware, you’d think that all the Delta counties in MS and AR that are colored blue are cheek to jowl cram jammed with blacks. But if you look at those same places on the precinct level, it looks more mixed. Still majority blue, but with enough red to make you think that there are enough white people living there.

Then there’s the matter of population density. None of these places are filled cheek to jowl with any kind of people.

  12. When I was younger, I was entertaining living somewhere else. Now, I couldn’t seriously imagine myself living anywhere other than, say, within 150 miles of St. Louis, and even within that circle, there are wide swaths that I would not want to live.

  13. I wonder if sometime you might do various stories on different southern locations….perhaps have some pictures. I would love to learn more about southern places thru the eyes and words of people who i understand and can trust….i used to live in Kentucky for three short years and i loved it. I have been to nashville and I liked it. Been to Florida and did not like it….show and tell us westerners more about your places.

    • Where did you go in Florida? There are two Floridas. The peninsula and the panhandle. Anywhere west of the Suwanee is generally ok and very southern. The peninsula is garbage with a few exceptions. I liked Citrus county a lot, the big bend is cool, even Cross City which is just down southof the Suwannee is great. There’s a confederate memorial on the highway there. It’s rural and nice and seems very southern. You gotta know where to go!

      • Thanks for the input. I may have to someday check out the other side of florida then. My wife and I spent time in St Augustine, which i sort of liked, jacksonville, ughhh, went down to daytona, good lord what was that about, a rundown looking place and orlando. We would have spent more time checking places out but it was hurricane season and we thought it would be horrible to have gotten stuck where were so we left. Cant say exactly what turned us off but we decided florida was not going to work for us as a place to live….might have judged too hastily….

  14. I’ve driven through Alabama and it is beautiful and the accents of the people who live there are pleasing to my ears. You talked about the area depopulating of Blacks and Whites, unfortunately. You said the area needed more White immigration. My eyes lit up when you talked about the low cost of living and the one thing that Whites, particularly working class Whites need, is a safe, inexpensive area for AFF (Affordable Family Formation).

But in Texas, there is a saying that there are Yankees and Damn Yankees. The Yankees are tourists and the Damn Yankees moved there!

In any case, even though the Southerners are the soul of politeness and no one can beat Southern Hospitality I always got the impression that the Deep South would be even more hardcore than the Texans about Yankees. Would the good people of Alabama even welcome Damn Yankees …. errr, White settlers from outside of the South?

    • No way! At least not here. I get eyed with suspicion being from WV but once people start to know me they immediately start bashing yankees. It’s really kind of funny. But the south end of the county is on the gulf and it is totally different. Full of people from everywhere due to the military. But they aren’t wanted up here.
