President Trump’s Executive Order on Refugees

Yesterday, I was on the road and didn’t get home until late last night, so I missed the big uproar over Trump’s executive order on refugees and visas:

“Washington (CNN) With just a few quick strokes of the pen, President Donald Trump on Friday banned — temporarily, for now — more than 134 million people from entering the United States.

Trump barred citizens of seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the US for at least the next 90 days by executive order, which a senior White House official said later Friday is likely just a first step toward establishing a broader ban.

It’s unclear how many more countries will be added to the list, but the official said the administration will be “very aggressive” as it weighs how many more countries to add to the list.

Asked what criteria the administration will consider as it looks to expand the ban beyond the initial seven countries, the official said simply the “mandate is to keep America safe.” …”

As David French points out, it is not a sweeping Muslim ban. It is only a temporary fix and barely changes the number of refugees admitted to the United States:

“First, the order temporarily halts refugee admissions for 120 days to improve the vetting process, then caps refugee admissions at 50,000 per year. Outrageous, right? Not so fast. Before 2016, when Obama dramatically ramped up refugee admissions, Trump’s 50,000 stands roughly in between a typical year of refugee admissions in George W. Bush’s two terms and a typical year in Obama’s two terms …

In 2002, the United States admitted only 27,131 refugees. It admitted fewer than 50,000 in 2003, 2006, and 2007. As for President Obama, he was slightly more generous than President Bush, but his refugee cap from 2013 to 2015 was a mere 70,000, and in 2011 and 2012 he admitted barely more than 50,000 refugees himself. …”

Read the full text of the executive order.

President Trump appears to be testing the waters here. He’s ginning up hysteria over something really small and quite moderate. The White House has said this is “just a first step.” Regardless, a federal judge has already pounced and blocked part of the order:

“WASHINGTON — A federal judge in Brooklyn came to the aid of scores of refugees and others who were trapped at airports across the United States on Saturday after an executive order signed by President Trump, which sought to keep many foreigners from entering the country, led to chaotic scenes across the globe.

The judge’s ruling blocked part of the president’s actions, preventing the government from deporting some arrivals who found themselves ensnared by the presidential order. But it stopped short of letting them into the country or issuing a broader ruling on the constitutionality of Mr. Trump’s actions.

The high-stakes legal case played out on Saturday amid global turmoil, as the executive order signed by the president slammed shut the borders of the United States for an Iranian scientist headed to a lab in Massachusetts, a Syrian refugee family headed to a new life in Ohio and countless others across the world. …”

The block only covers a handful of people who were caught in transit. It doesn’t affect anyone who hasn’t yet traveled to the United States. Still, the Lügenpresse is showering Judge Ann Donnelly with praise in order to encourage more federal judges to subvert President Trump’s immigration agenda:

“Andrew M. Lankler, a partner at Baker Botts LLP, who served in the office from 1990 to 1996, said, “She’s an extremely intelligent, deliberative and conscientious person uniquely unswayed by anything other than justice.”

Daniel J. Horwitz, a partner at McLaughlin & Stern LLP, who worked in the district attorney’s office from 1991 to 2000, described her in a message as “tenacious, exceedingly bright but eminently fair with an even temperament.”

He added, “She’s exactly the type of judge you want to appear in front of.” …”

I’ve got some catching up to do on this.

Yesterday, I was with Michael Cushman and several other veterans of the League of the South’s Murfreesboro and Shelbyville protests. We were sitting around drinking whiskey, smoking cigars in a hotel lobby and taking pictures standing in front of a television as the CNN chyron breathlessly reported “Trump Bans More Than 134 Million People.” There was a meltdown going on at JFK Airport.

No, this executive order wasn’t as sweeping as I would have liked, but I am a realist. This issue was inevitably going to be fought and resolved in the federal courts. It makes sense to me to prod the Left into having a big meltdown now. The public will become accustomed to the outrage and once the sweeping principle is established that the president can unilaterally ban anyone traveling from a foreign country the policy can always be broadened later to encompass more countries.

Why do we need, say, Somalians? That’s a good place to start.

  1. From the Huffington Post:

“Spontaneous Protests Hit Airports Across America Following Trump’s Executive Order”

    From the comments section;

“Excellent! The Republicans and Trumps base need to be reminded that their lily white rural trailer parks aren’t “the majority” and they do NOT enjoy anything close to a mandate for this kind of Fascism.”

“Democracy at it’s best. Keep up the good work!!! We HAVE to resist what is happening!!”

Aside from the fact that these comments are disturbing: The arrogance, hypocrisy, double standards and overwhelming sense of entitlement, are astounding.

  2. Somalis are on the list, definitely a good start. The left seems to believe that America was created for foreigners and these people have some sort of “right” to invite themselves to come here. Funny for how much types like Zuckerberg cry over this commie view of immigration they’d freak out and yell for the cops if a bunch of pauper families just “invited themselves” to come live in his mansions.

    • Zuckerberg just recently tried throwing native Hawaiians off their property so he could have a better view of the beach. Meanwhile, he publicly supports amnesty….just as long as they don’t live near his beach front property, that is.

      • Since it is now apparent to all that China is a tool of the globalists to help bring about their satanic world government, could it be that Zuckerberg marrying and breeding with a person of Chinese origin is a financial or business strategy? Yes, it could be love (wink, wink) but many Jews breed selectively and I believe this could very well be a shining example of it. Judaism is an ideology, wrapped in a religion, inside a mystery of deceptive origin. The fact that your biological mother supposedly determines if you’re a Jew or not when they allow female converts, runs completely counter to their stating it is a unique ethnicity, separate tribe, or its own race of people. Christianity is not a product of Judaism. Seek the truth and you will find it. The con jobs never end.

  3. We have enough people already, America is full. We are already over populated in large swaths. The East Coast is awful, there was rush hour stop and go traffic all the way from DC to Richmond when I was there a few years back. Expected to do a steady 75 on the interstate like in downstate Illinois, but a short gaunt turned into an all day affair. I can only imagine the mass of humanity going the other way from DC, up through the megacities. Already more people than necessary. Chicagoland is an awful 80 miles of traffic and strip malls extending practically to Milwaukee and Rockford. The places no one lives is that way for a reason, Most of the West is just cold dry sagebrush and rattlesnakes, I couldn’t imagine living somewhere like Rock Springs Wyoming, it looks more like Mars than the Earth.

  4. And of course, it won’t merely be the Dems, media, and ethnic grievance lobbies we have to battle, but the same band of preeners, geldings, open borders whores, and plain old cowards among REPUBLICANS who leap onto the kitchen chair like a housewife who’s seen a mouse at the first sign of criticism!

No names here will be a surprise!

    • Somebody needs to leak what the pentagon has on McCain (he made propaganda broadcasts for the North Vietnamese while he was a POW). That, coupled with the fact that he shut down the investigation into the allegations that American POWs were left behind, renders him highly suspect. His career in the Senate has been shameful and destructive to the actual interests of the American people.

The useless old f**k needs to be humiliated and driven from office. F**k him.

      • Agreed. The folks of Arizona have disappointed us 3 times now. If it were a situation where our majority didn’t hinge on it, I’d prefer a damn Democrat took the seat! When he’s not convincing the public that all Republicans are interested in is militarily invading every Trashcanistan on earth, he’s the go-to Republican to get to attack his own party!
So they can write, “EVEN JOHN MCCAIN opposes (fill in the blank)!”

        • That’s why if we’re going to have illegal immigration I want them ALL to go to Arizona. Those yaps voted for it; let them deal with it.

  5. Concur.

It’s hard to overestimate the importance of this battle: the courts, immigration, blood and soil. All the marbles. Even though I would like to see a more widespread ban, this is a reasonable ground to fight on: Constitutional, limited in time, limited in scope, ample precedent.

The left will lose and this will set up the fight over deportations and the Wall. Notice how the Jews cannot keep their pets in line? They are out protesting of their own accord.

Gotta get that Deep State on lock down ASAP.

  6. That anti-Whites would run to some anti-White judge was inevitable. So far Trump hasn’t backed down. He needs to take a page from Andrew Jackson’s reply to Justice Marshall’s ruling and update it: “It’s Donnelly’s law. Let Donnelly enforce it”.

  7. Because the US sets the template for all the world through media and academia, its brand of Globalism will be deeply ruinous to all nations around the world.

If, as globalists claim, the US is so great because it intervenes in all parts of the world and takes in innumerable ‘refugees’, illegal migrants, and immigrants, then that policy becomes the template for the rest of the world whose intellectuals and cultural elites take cues from the US.

Just look at the state of Europe. There was a time when leaders like Thatcher said, “US is philosophy, Europe is history.” But new elites of Europe want to ‘Americanize’ the Old World with the rules of the New World.

Of course, since Jews gained supremacist power in the US and since Jews have gained sacred iconic status in the EU due to Holocaustianity, whatever Jews must be taken as the word of god. What is called ‘American Ideas’ and ‘Western Values’ are now concoctions of Jewish Globalists, and they are designed to undermine the native majority gentile power of every nation.

Because whatever the US does has a great impact on the world, the US must stop with its invade-invite lunacy. It not only harms the US and the nations that are invaded(mostly in the Middle East and North Africa) but all those sucker-nations that slavishly imitate everything the US does.

If US decides to go over the cliff, much of the world will follow.

Because the US billed itself as ‘nation of immigrants’, the EU followed, and look at the dire problems this ‘Americanization’ caused.

    Mass Immigration is demographic imperialism.

  8. This poem was written as a donation to an auction of art and literary works conducted by the “Art Loan Fund Exhibition in Aid of the Bartholdi Pedestal Fund for the Statue of Liberty” to raise money for the pedestal’s construction. Lazarus’s contribution was solicited by fundraiser William Maxwell Evarts. Initially she refused but Constance Cary Harrison convinced her that the statue would be of great significance to immigrants sailing into the harbor.

  9. Glad he wasted no time in making the order. Now he can get down to handling the legal fight (which shouldn’t take terribly wrong) and pushing forward with the backing of precedent.

The point that people will become desensitized to outrage is a good one. That is the primary leftist tactic for gaining/maintaining power, and it would be a hell of a victory if we can disarm them.

  10. Why aren’t your Muslim nations taking your in? Where are the “Muslim” caring people of the Muslim nations in the world who should be caring for their brethren? Do not put the blame on the U.S. Where are your own people, your own kind, your own religious nations, to take you in? Why just the U.S.?
