Poor Mark Patrick George

Here’s the latest wrinkle in the campaign against Confederate monuments in Georgia:

“The Valdosta State University professor who recently called for ending all state Confederate memorials says the school – under pressure by officials – retaliated by closing his email account and freezing funds for his program on local lynching history.

VSU officials say there was no retaliation against adjunct sociology professor Mark Patrick George, who has since voluntary left for another job. But if he had stayed, he would have been “investigated” for sending his activist letters via his university email – a supposed use of “public resources for political purposes.” …

GTFO of Georgia, and don’t come back! We owe a tip of the hat to VSU alumni John Hall, Jr. for ridding us of this pest.

Note: OD publicized Professor George’s anti-Southern campaign in “Creative Loafing: Georgia Should End All Confederate Memorials” and “SCLC Agitates Against Confederate Memorials and Holidays.”

  1. My pleasure sir!……..you must know that this varmit was not just an agitator regarding the Confederacy….he was also behind trying to keep the federal desegregation active in the valdosta city schools. He also produced a video about hating being white. All this in South Georgia!

  2. Are you all serious??? Are you all the product of a brother and sister mating? That could be the only explanation for such backwards thinking….

  3. Please be honest and answer this question: What do you think an African-American thinks and feels when he/she sees a Confederate Flag or sees that buildings and roads are named after white supremacist slave holders?

  4. childish?? Who are the folks dressing up and running around play war? Now isn’t that the pot calling the kettle black??

  5. Mr. George may have left, but there are plenty of us still right here in south Georgia: white liberals who believe in racial equality. We are here. Our numbers are increasing. We are the future. It may take a couple generations, but we will win.

  6. To answer Fredrick Douglas’ question, yes, John C Hall Jr and Hunter Wallace are the direct result of inbreeding. In their defense The Human Genome Project was not complete until 2003 so their families didn’t really understand the full extent of the consequences of their inbreeding such as Fumarase deficiency that they both appear to be suffering from. God bless their hearts and keep them in your prayers ya’ll!

Yeah, keep up the good work.

With your help the future will be even worse than the present.

Black People Responsible for Virtually All Crime in Atlanta — Judge Marvin Arrington Confirms
OD has done the tremendous task of compiling the COLOR OF CRIME for the city of Atlanta (looking at statistics from April 2011 to April 2012). The results:
In Atlanta, African-Americans are 54 percent of the population, but are responsible for 100 percent of homicide, 95 percent of rape, 94 percent of robbery, 84 percent of aggravated assault, and 93 percent of burglary.

  8. I wrote this a few weeks back: and I acknowledge that one has the right to display any flag you wish, but, as a citizen of Georgia, here is what I feel: If the Confederate Flag were merely the flag of an 19th century rebellion that would be bad enough. But it’s sorry history didn’t stop here..it’s the flag of White Supremacy: of Jim Crow laws, of lynching and the steady infliction of cruelties and abuse on blacks (and yes liberals or ‘race mixers’ or anyone challenging the social order.) It’s the flag of the apartheid that Segregation was..it’s the flag of George Wallace, Strom Thurmond, Talmadges…it’s the flag of resistance at desegregation. I’m a white rural Southerners with slave holding and Confederate (as well as unionist) ancestors and I would no more fly it than I would a Swastika. There are better ways to be southern or have Southern pride than hoisting the Bloody shirt…it’s an insult to my black neighbors as well as decent folks generally. It should not be used in any way by governments.
