The New Civil War: Abortion, Gay Marriage, Gun Control

Dixie

According to Andrew O’Hehir at Salon, we are in “the new civil war” between the “neo-Confederacy” (Dixie and the Interior West) and the “neo-Union” (the Northeast, West Coast, Upper Midwest). “Lincoln” and “Django Unchained” have stimulated some anti-Southern articles on the Far Left:

“So even though it’s a truism of American public discourse that the Civil War never ended, it’s also literally true. We’re still reaping the whirlwind from that long-ago conflict, and now we face a new Civil War, one focused on divisive political issues of the 21st century – most notably the rights and liberties of women and LGBT people – but rooted in toxic rhetoric and ideas inherited from the 19th century. . .

If you correlate the states where both same-sex marriage and same-sex civil unions have been banned and the states with the harshest restrictions on abortion, you begin to measure the breadth of the neo-Confederacy: Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, the Dakotas, the Carolinas, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah. Most (but not all) are onetime Southern slave states and hotbeds of evangelical Christianity, and most (but not all) coincide with the familiar red-blue split between Republicans and Democrats. The battleground states of the moment, on these issues as on many others, are strikingly familiar: Florida, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin. All four are currently in the grip of neo-Confederate forces on a state level, and all four have enacted gay-marriage bans and abortion restrictions, even though Obama won them all in both of his election campaigns. …”

The Confederate position all along was that slavery was merely the occasion of the war, the incident which ignited the clash of civilizations between Dixie and New England over the power of the central government, and that the abolitionists had ulterior motives in agitating the slavery question:

“We warn the North, that every one of the leading Abolitionists is agitating the negro slavery-question merely as a means to attain ulterior ends, and those ends nearer home. They would not spend so much time and money for the mere sake of the negro or his master, about whom they care little. But they know that men once fairly committed to negro slavery agitation — once committed to the sweeping principle, “that man being a moral agent, accountable to God for his actions, should not have those actions controlled and directed by the will of another,” are, in effect, committed to Socialism and Communism, to the most ultra doctrines of Garrison, Goodell, Smith and Andrews — to no private property, no church, no law, no government, — to free love, free lands, free women and free churches.

There is no middle ground — not an inch of ground of any sort, between the doctrines which we hold and those which Mr. Garrison holds. If slavery, either white or black, be wrong in principle or practice, then is Mr. Garrison right — then is all human government wrong.

Socialism, not Abolition, is the real object of Black Republicanism. The North, not the South, the true battle-ground. … The Abolition school of Socialists like it because it is intolerable — because they consider it a transition state to a form of society without law or government. Miss Wright has the honesty to admit, that a transition has never taken place. No; and never will take place: because the expulsion of human nature is a pre-requisite to its occurrence.

But we solemnly warn the North, that what she calls a transition is what every leading Abolitionist is moving heaven and earth to attain. This is their real object — negro emancipation a mere gull-trap.

In the attempt to attain “transition” seas of gore may be shed, until military despotism comes in to restore peace and security.”

Yesterday’s Southern reactionaries like George Fitzhugh in the 1850s or Sen. Theodore Bilbo in the 1940s were later vindicated by history. The “transition” to socialism and communism gained steam after the war: negro equality, women’s suffrage, globalism, feminism, the War on Christmas, “LGBT rights,” etc.

In the movie “Lincoln,” the House erupts at the insane argument made by Fernando Wood that abolition would lead to negro equality. The gathering menace in the Northeast always turns out to be worse than the most dire reactionary predictions.

That’s something to consider in light of Joe Biden’s recent announcement that Obama is considering issuing an executive order relating to gun control. Yes, Obama wanted to take away your guns all along, just like he believed in gay marriage and amnesty for illegal aliens all along, and who knows what other wonders his Democratic successors have in store for us so long as this Union is preserved.

Note: SNN notices that the Tea Party is flirting with secession.

“Conservatives” actually did all right at the state level this last election.

Right there’s our toehold, our direction. Working our people through existing state political infrastructure (planning on running for state or local office anytime soon, Hunter? 😉 , NOT with WashingtonDC in mind, but as a forerunner of the time when states will be able to hold their own, and them some, against the encroaching fedgov.

You feel assured that men and women, little boys and girls, can stand to work from ten to thirteen hours every day, winter and summer, in heat and in cold, making at that only a beggarly pittance which barely suffices to keep body and soul together; and yet never once inquire, honest souls I bow it chances that their employers, who neither toil nor yet do spin, are still reckoned among the merchant-princes of the land, dress in fine broadcloth and spotless linen, and in every other respect fire sumptuously every day? Oh! dear, no; you couldn’t begin to think of such a thing. Why should you? Your Reverence is paid from three to five thousand dollars per annum for talking billingsgate religion, maudlin sentimentality, anal a cheap philanthropy, and of course it never occurs to you that what is so profitable to your individual self, is yet sowing broadcast the seeds of many future disasters to the Constitution and the Union.

It never occurs to you, O astute politician, that those whom you so earnestly teach how to remedy the sad lot of others, are all the time, although unread in classical lore, revolving over in their minds the sentiment so often quoted from Horace: -Mutato nomine, de te Fabula narratur. [The Latin means something like, change the name, and the story could be about you too–MF] But, we have written that this question is even now agitating the breasts of thousands of the sons of toil in New-England; and what we have written that do we know to be true. For we have heard it discussed in whispers, and under one’s breath as it were, within the very shadows of Faneuil Hall and Bunker Hill Monument. Nay, within the classic precincts of old Harvard, under the venerable elm trees which there spread so far-reaching their umbrageous boughs, as well as in the shadow alcoves of her magnificent Library; we have heard agrarian utterances from learned schoolmen, and collegians-utterances alike antagonistic to the spirit of our Federal Constitution, and the generally accepted ideas in regard to the laws of meum and tuum [mine and yours].

We have there heard ultra anti-slavery men, when driven to the wall by force of irresistible argument, confess that they equally abhorred capitalists as slave holders; and that the only reason why they did not wage as relentless war upon the rich men of the Free States, is upon the Southern Oligarchs, was owing entirely to the dictates of policy. The time has not come yet, was the plea they invariably set up; but after disposing of the Chivalry, then would come the turn of their own rich men. . . .”

  3. “of women and LGBT people ”

LOL. That’s an even better false cause to level the south. You can parade anyone on the TV to be “face” of neo-confederate caused suffering. You don’t even need to put coal dust on the face of anyone that can stick to a script.

  4. Gayle: The only thing standing in our way are Zio-Christians and colorblind Tea Party retards. The Zio-Christians are too concerned with the coming world war for Israel and the rapture, both of which they believe is coming any day now. The Tea Party types are looking for a minority to lead them in proving they are not racists.

I have a feeling the Republicans are going to loose more seats in 2014, and more States. By 2016, Texas will be solid Blue.
Ever notice how once a state becomes Blue, they never go back? I don’t know of any Blue State that became solid Red.

  5. Cracker Ass Cracker-published a map of gun permit holders’

Right of Citizens to bear arms . They should publish all the gang bangers ghetto hood nig nog names and address who are unlawfully armed.

  6. The Confederate position all along was that slavery was merely the occasion of the war, the incident which ignited the clash of civilizations between Dixie and New England over the power of the central government …

Really, Mr. Wallace? Over the “power of the central government”? Your editing of Fitzhugh’s passage is interesting, inasmuch as you’ve left no antecedent for “it,” in the following sentence:

“The Abolition school of Socialists like it because it is intolerable — because they consider it a transition state to a form of society without law or government.”

Here’s the passage without your helpful elision:

“[T]he agitators of the North look upon free society as a mere transition state to a better, but untried, form of society. The reader will not fully comprehend, without reading “England the Civilizer,” by Miss Fanny Wright. It is worth reading, not only as far the best history of the British constitution, but as the most correct and perfect analysis and delineation of free society–of that form of society which all Socialists and all thinking men agree cannot stand as it is. The Abolition school of Socialists like it because it is intolerable….”

(Fitzhugh, George, “Cannibals All: Or, Slaves without Masters,” Applewood Books, Bedford, Mass., 1857, pages 368-69 Emphases added.)

What Mr. Fitzhugh was disparaging as intolerable–what he was sure “all thinking men agree cannot stand as it is”–was free society. The only “power of the central government” to which he objected was the power to prevent enslavement, of “either white or black.” Your failure to make that clear to readers of Occidental Dissent was, no doubt, an oversight.

  7. Marx said that no religion was easier to harness for Communism than Christianity. He is being proved right in this regard. Communism is but a way to bring about Utopia on Earth without God. I’m not a religious man, but the idea of being able to perfect creation without the Creator is Satanic to the core.

Sadly, you immediatly lose Mom and Pop Amurrican whenever you bring up Communism, and the young see nothing wrong with it at all. Mom and Pop Amurrican know that Communism was defeated during the Cold War. They don’t realize that Vietnam was the perfect war against Communism to distract us while the REAL communists were right here, operating in our midsts, breaking down our society with thier sick, disgusting smut, like a filthy fly’s spit breaks down what it is eating.

  8. John B: The Yankees have been neck deep in desiring to establish utopia on Earth since the Pilgrims. It’s because the religious fanatics the English couldn’t stand fled to New England. We’ll have gun control. We’ll have amnesty (it would only be appropriate that a Global, Multicultural empire like Amurrica have nor borders, right?). Eventually, we’ll have quotas based on race, sex and ethnicity in Congress. The next phase, though, of the Yankee installment is sodomite marriage, not only requiring it to be tolerated, but requiring it to be accepted as equal to REAL marriage. After that, the skies pretty much the limit unless the money runs out. Once sodomites are recognized in marriage, they’ll be recognized as yet another group who require AA and quotas and their own history month. Of course, kids will have to read about the accomplishments of sodomite-Americans starting in Kindergarden. Child love? Legalized beastiality? You laugh, but our ancestors would have laughed if we told them what has happened over the last 50 years or so. All this is due to the Union, your glorious Union, John B.

  9. TO HELL WITH THE KHAZAR WORLD PLANTATION EMPIRE!!! Judeo Masonry ia the driving force behind all this crap. Martin Lindstedt is right about being like Possums, Groundhogs in the Dinasour Times to survive the Tribulation. Go Underground Hybernate get right with Yahweh, only friends and family. Whiggers, Mamzers and Darkies going crazy and the implosion of Babylon .

  10. It’s because, John B., that more than anything the leftists hate Nature and Nature’s God. Their first disagreement with Nature and Nature’s God was that all men are equal. Nature shows they are not, the Leftist shake their fists at Him and swear to bring it about, even if they have to bring everyone down to the level of the lowest human.

  11. Those “maps” are crap. You can find guys with Confederate flags on their trunks in upstate NY. The Neo-Union is a union of geographically isolated city-states depending on the surrounding economy. At best they have the Eastern Corridor and the maybe the West Coast.

  12. Really, Mr. Wallace? Over the “power of the central government”?

    Absolutely.

Davis and Stephens both argued that slavery was only the occasion of the war and that the ultimate cause of the war was over rival theories of the power of the central government.

If slavery was only incidental to secession, it would be reasonable to expect the Northeast and the South would continue to clash after the abolition of slavery, and that is exactly what happened.

Your editing of Fitzhugh’s passage is interesting, inasmuch as you’ve left no antecedent for “it,” in the following sentence:

It’s an interesting book. I plan to review it and several others in April during Confederate History Month 2013, but I can’t quote the whole book or the whole chapter for this one post.

  13. What Mr. Fitzhugh was disparaging as intolerable–what he was sure “all thinking men agree cannot stand as it is”–was free society.

    Fitzhugh was absolutely right.

The logic of free society could never be content with just the abolition of slavery. In the aftermath of the war, the abolitionists shifted their agitation to women’s suffrage and later to feminism in the twentieth century and now “freedom” is invoked to justify “gay marriage.”

The only “power of the central government” to which he objected was the power to prevent enslavement, of “either white or black.” Your failure to make that clear to readers of Occidental Dissent was, no doubt, an oversight.

    That’s absurd.

Fitzhugh was right about the trajectory of “free society.” He spent a lot of time analyzing “free society,” or a society based upon liberal political theory, as it existed in Western Europe too.

He would not have been surprised that “free society” eventually led to negro equality and civil rights and women’s suffrage and feminism and gay marriage and socialism and atheism.

Fitzhugh predicted all that would happen.

  14. The Yankees have been neck deep in desiring to establish utopia on Earth since the Pilgrims.

Slavery was merely the occasion of the conflict.

The Northeastern culture has an underlying need to chew up, pervert, level and destroy every aspect of a traditional society. As soon as slavery was abolished, the destructive liberal impulse just became fixated on other issues like civil rights and women’s suffrage.

It will be something else after gay marriage. Maybe transsexual equality. Maybe the legalization of beastility and pedophilia. I’m sure there will be a major push for outlawing and confiscating firearms and the legalization of marijuana, cocaine, and heroin.

  15. Freedom stops where Equality starts. The Yankee Utopians abandoned the former for the latter and, thanks to WWII, have taken the entire West with them.

  16. By “Yankee” I don’t mean all Northerners. I mean the raving, deranged, utopian fanatics whose eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord, and such other delusions.

  17. “It will be something else after gay marriage. Maybe transssexual equality. Maybe the legalization of beastiality or pedophilia.”

    – The ultimate goal of the Jewish/Zionist collective enity, is the literal extinction of the white race. After gay marriage, will follow the social criminalization of same-race marriage. They’ll start with tax-incentives for mixed-race, specifically black male/white female, couples. They’ll call it “harmony legislation” or some twisted shit. Eventually, white couples will be penalized further and further under the law for choosing to stay within their race. Make no mistake, the long term goal is to make it against the law for white men and women to marry and procreate.

  18. I agree with Chris but first there will be huge tax deductions for adopting abandoned pickaninnies. It speaks volumes that every other race is desperate to mix with us or at least apathetic to miscegenation. They have everything to gain my stealing white genes, look at what the niggers did with the whitetrash/negro Obama.

  19. Chris and Tamer: Could not agree more. In effect, there already IS a tax on white couples. White couples have white children who be by-passed in selection to educational instututions due to AA, white children who will be denigrated by a hostile media, etc. Right now, I wonder how many women, carefully weighing the pros and cons, would prefer thier children be anything but white?
But yes, it will get much worse, once they think it’s too late for us to push back.

  20. …and we should not lose sight of the fact that all this digusting “liberation” of every sick fantasy is not really for who it seems to be for….it is for and only for ushering in disharmony, confusion, and breaking up white society.
If they ever defeat the whites, look out whoever is left! Down will come the most draconian laws to enforce the most strict puritanical laws ever known on the face of Earth.

  21. The impact of the US Civil War on western civilization is grossly under appreciated. The French Revolution wasn’t the key turning point. It was the Civil War. The North captured the US government, the US government captured the country, and then, via the outcomes of the two world wars, the whole world. Julius Evola had it right. No price would have been too high to defeat the Anglo-Jew alliance.

  22. I can’t quote the whole book or the whole chapter for this one post.

As is any evasion, Mr. Wallace, that remark is counterproductive. It merely intensifies the question whether the uncharacteristic unintelligibility of your editing was intentional.

If slavery was only incidental to secession, it would be reasonable to expect the Northeast and the South would continue to clash after the abolition of slavery, and that is exactly what happened.

The clash took place over the position of the freed blacks. In the period before the Civil War, the South was very unwise to insist on maintaining slavery. An intelligent position would have been to offer to abandon slavery, on condition that North and South work together to separate the races.

The logic of free society could never be content with just the abolition of slavery.

Then say it: list for Occidental Dissent’s white Southron followers the freedoms of which they will be disencumbered when, as you hope, Dixie will have thrown off “the power of the central government.” Considering that your model Mr. Fitzhugh apparently questions whether “slavery, either white or black, be wrong in principle or practice,” I guess freedom from involuntary servitude is among them.

You laugh, but our ancestors would have laughed if we told them what has happened over the last 50 years or so. All this is due to the Union, your glorious Union, John B.

I don’t laugh at anything you said, Wayne.

  23. “(L)ist for Occidental Dissent’s white Southron followers the freedoms of which they will be disencumbered when, as you hope, Dixie will have thrown off the power of the central government. Considering that your model Mr. Fitzhugh apparently questions whether ‘slavery, either white or black, be wrong in principle or practice,’ I guess freedom from involuntary servitude is among them.”

Good point, John Bonaccorsi. The “great generators of wealth” could resume action, if not much in the fields thanks to mechanical farm machinery, then in factories or other profitable applications for mindless labour.

  24. Tamer wrote: “your people (Germans) rebelled against the Church while the paint was still wet in the Sistine Chapel…”

…where a Pope bragged that all this was built on the sins of the Germans. They had cause to rebel.

  25. John Bonaccorsi, Philadelphia says:

……. I guess freedom from involuntary servitude is among them.

What is your opinion of taxing the average single childless person working person at the current rates to support lazy, feebleminded, worthless individuals?

I pay fu<king taxes so Aquanetta (who has a child by Shitavious) can get a EITC for doing nothing. That's my god damn money.

Go pound on your bongo someplace else. Working whites have been placed in servitude by the government.

  26. Orthodox wrote: “Those maps are crap. You can find guys with Confederate flags on their trunks in upstate NY. The Neo-Union is a union of geographically isolated city-states depending on the surrounding economy.”

Confederate flags even fly on front porches, appear on trucks and tractors, as the ONLY flag on the stage wall at a local community festival every year, and on the wall in family rooms in local homes — which is even MORE significant of the presence of conservative attitude because it isn’t even our heritage!

Orthodox is right about the PATCHWORK of liberal and conservative, generally following the pattern of urban/suburban and rural/agrarian, in nearly all states.
    Well said, Orthodox.

  27. rjp, John B. was referring to slavery as such, and he is correct. I am sure he agrees with you about our impoverishment and effective enslavement through taxation, inflation, usury (banking), lawyers and bureaucracy, etc.

  28. Hey, dude. “Plugs” Biden is a ‘Southern Man’. Maryland is a Southern State, right? What a despicable POS.

  29. Yes, rjp, I agree, as Mosin has said, with your objection to that taxation. I object to all taxation that involves, either directly or indirectly, disguisedly or plainly, the movement of money from one person to another.

  30. Gayle: The only thing standing in our way are Zio-Christians and colorblind Tea Party retards.

Great point! You are 100% correct.

The Zio-Christians are too concerned with the coming world war for Israel and the rapture, both of which they believe is coming any day now. The Tea Party types are looking for a minority to lead them in proving they are not racists.

Someone f**k Glenn Beck for me! This is his life!

I have a feeling the Republicans are going to loose more seats in 2014, and more States. By 2016, Texas will be solid Blue.

Ever notice how once a state becomes Blue, they never go back?

You clearly know what they say: “once you go black, you never go back”

I don’t know of any Blue State that became solid Red.

Michigan might be the first. They have the right plan. Starve the fuckers out. If the State refuses to intervene to help Detroit (and Benton Harbor, and Flint) then those cities will fail catastrophically. This is a wonderful thing. Black police retirees will not get pensions. Black nurses at black hospitals will not get paid. Black teachers in black schools will not get paychecks. Eventually a case will be made for sending in the (majority white) Michigan National Guard to restore order in the failed city of Detroit. At that point Negros will be fleeing the hostile State of Michigan … for ALABAMA!!

Lol! Hunter, read it and weep! It’s gonna happen, you just wait and see.

  31. They knew the score back in 1860, but it didn’t help them win. Right senses, right passion, wrong plan.

Should have shipped all blacks back to Africa.

Today we have the same problem: GOP worried about a little tax hike? They will have infinite taxation when rampaging ferals break into their bed chambers and kill them and their families!

Worried about Pakistani terrorism? When majority anti-white government gets through with them, they won’t be able to hide in a spider hole like Saddam!

No, there needs to priorities, genes first, wealth and social status later. Partition does that.

I’d rather have white socialism than multi-racial capitalism.

  32. Rjp is right. The yoke fell on the white worker (income tax) during the war, the burden has only increased since. If you bust your butt day-in-day-out in a “free country” and can’t figure out who the slave is… It’s a testament to your lack of free-time and miseducation; most Whites are purposely half-educated white-nigger tax slaves that were taught just enough rudimentary subjects in publik skool to take orders. Don’t take it with a grain of salt when your Nigger president says that we’re all equal, you’re really no better than a ghetto nigger in his or 51% of the country’s eyes. You’re actually beneath Niggers in the pecking order because you’ve been picadored since birth yet considered “privileged” for having the audacity to not be a slobbering nigger.

  33. So Hunter, cough it up! Will the reconstituted “Republic of Dixie” permit chattel slavery, or not? You’ve danced around it a lot, but not answered the core question of what most people wonder about when they hear the term “neo-confederacy”. Will such slavery be limited to Blacks, or open to all races? These are big questions that should have easy answers.

If the answer is “NO”, then I think you do have to deal with the inconvenient fact that Dixie was on the wrong side of this issue circa 1860. And thus, perhaps, they were destined to lose the War Between the States. It really was the original sin of the South, something I appreciate even more after reading OD for all these years.

Alternately you could go to the logical endpoint an support “new slavery” in the reconstituted Republic of Dixie. Given everything you’ve written that would be a consistent position.

    Which is it?

  34. “I’d rather have white socialism than multi-racial capitalism.”

Capitalism is about the LOVE OF MONEY, the root of so much evil — and must be rejected — and “white Socialism” doesn’t suit my FREEDOM LOVING ethnic nature, as expressed so well in the OD motto: “Let slaves adore and love a despotism. It is the part of freemen to detest and to resist it.”

  35. “You’ve danced around it a lot, but not answered the core question of what most people wonder about when they hear the term ‘neo-confederacy.’ Will such slavery be limited to Blacks, or open to all races? These are big questions that should have easy answers.”

The impression is that the option is to remain open, especially should it seem likely to generate immense wealth.

  36. Jackson,

1.) It’s an absurd question on the same level of asking whether SN plan to bring back mules, telegraphs, the country store. or the horse and buggy.

2.) I’ve spent the last month posting some statistics about the modern Southern economy on Confederate Renaissance.

3.) Most of the cotton grown in the United States is now grown in the Southwest. Negroes are redundant in the planting, harvesting, and processing of cotton.

4.) The Southern economy was destroyed by the Union Army and no one familiar with the extent of the destruction or the consequences to the accumulated capital and the availability of credit in the postwar South can possibly say that the war was a good thing for the South.

  37. The impression is that the option is to remain open, especially should it seem likely to generate immense wealth.

    Droll, Mosin, droll.

  38. It’s an absurd question on the same level of asking whether SN plan to bring back mules, telegraphs, the country store. or the horse and buggy.

No, it isn’t. The only reason you gave up slavery is that hundreds of thousands of men died in a war in which it was beaten out of you. Don’t you dare make it sound as if it just passed away in the manner of the crank telephone.

  39. Re: John Bona

1.) No, we have discussed George Fitzhugh’s views on free society here numerous times in the past. It just so happened that I had saved that excerpt in the comment section in a previous thread.

2.) The North and South clashed over slavery and a number of issues before the war, the status of the free negro during Reconstruction, and a number of other issues in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century.

As Davis and Stephens explained, slavery was entirely incidental to the conflict: it was just the reform of the day that Northern fanatics were fixated on at that time. Now the Northeast clashes with the South over “gay marriage.”

3.) The intelligent position would have been to have never created the Union in the first place.
