The last time the Chicago Cubs won any baseball championship was 1945 – the year we dropped the A bomb on Japan; all of the able bodied, young American men were in military uniforms, not in Chicago Cubs uniforms. It was a 4F, old men season, maybe there will be another one… next year. There’s always next year for Cubs fans.
In a similar vein, this was not the year that Ron Paul or any other Liberatrian, economic conservative broke through and was elected President of the United States – Ron Paul will not be ending the welfare state, reversing the Great Society, the New Deal, ending Medicaid and Social Security, privatizing the entire US public school system, enacting right to work laws in all 50 states, breaking the Teamsters Union, the UAW, the United Mine Workers Union and allowing “American” businesses to hire and fire whoever they want, with wages determined by “free markets”, and the American labor force opened up to 2 billion 3rd world workers, under Libertarian free market principles of open borders immigration.
Ron Paul and his never say die Libertarian supporters made a valiant effort to reach out to Blacks, Hispanics, even Muslim immigrants associated with Al Qaeda 9-11-01 terrorists. Ron Paul was the only GOP presidential candidate to back the Ground Zero Mosque and explain that the 9-11-01 mass murder of our people was an understandable Islamic response to the USA’s mistreatment of the Palestinians and the US having military bases in Saudi Arabia.
All of Ron Paul’s outreach/pandering to Muslim immigrants didn’t result in winning Ron Paul the nomination. Neither did Ron Paul’s pledge to set free all Black African Americans in prison for trafficking in hard drugs like crack cocaine and heroin. Ron Paul and other Libertarian economic Conservatives were polling less than 1 percent amongst Black voters… maybe these Black voters haven’t read enough Austrian free market economics books… or maybe they don’t read any books.
Yeah, this wasn’t the year for Libertarian, economic conservative Presidential candidates or the Chicago Cubs.
American nationalist leader George Rockwell stated in 1966 that Libertarian/economic conservative Presidential candidates were doomed to fail. After the ’64 Goldwater debacle, Rockwell stated with 100 percent assurance that no Libertarian economic conservative Presidential candidate would ever win the support of poor and working class White voters.
But, 45 years later we’ve had to suffer the failures of Jack Kemp, Phil Graham, Steve Forbes, Ron Paul and other Libertarian Party Presidential candidates that no one can remember.
Who ran as the Libertarian Presidential candidate in 1992? Who was the second string catcher for the 1977 Chicago Cubs? Who cares?

Sam: Do some travelling. Start with Texas. I live in Granbury most of the time, so I see things. Try to find a White crew to roof a house or build a pipe fence out in that cruel Texas sunshine. Then go to a machine shop. See who is doing all of the low-skill jobs like cleaning machines, sawing, loading, unloading and sweeping so that the aging, hard-to-find machinists can concentrate on creating a marketable product.
Then go to western Kansas. I own a piece of property in Hoxie and I have had many opportunities to observe what is going on in the area. Nearly all of the young folks are gone and they won’t be coming back except maybe occasionally on Thanksgiving or Christmas. Almost all of the farmers are well past retirement age. The kids are all off someplace else, hanging out with pole smokers in investment clubs or something, so the old guys have to hire the only guys around who are willing and able to do the work.
Next check out Kentucky. I own a house on ten acres in Edmonton. I let retired relatives live in the house. The economy in that general area is in bad shape. Most of the manufacturing is gone. The farmers can’t make much off tobacco anymore because the local White folks would rather drive up to two hours each way to work in Louisville or Bowling Green than hang around town all year waiting for an opportunity to work a couple of months planting or getting in tobacco or corn. Folks got hard on the illegals after one particularly gruesome head on collision caused by one of them. They now avoid this area and a lot of the fields lay idle.
There is politics and opinions, and there is practicality and common sense.
It doesn’t matter how long you’ve heard that argument or how many illegals are in American prisons and welfare rolls or how many Libertarian queers you chose to rub elbows with. What matters is that in a society in which the locals rule their localities, you wouldn’t have to tolerate criminal illegals, welfare bums or queers of any political stripe.
That is a reality that deserves and experiment. If this puddle of political shit we are in right now deserved a shot, then true libertarianism definitely deserves one.

It’s seasonal work that used to be done by farmers and their kids. Now it is done by old farmers who hire migrant workers who come around when you need them and go away when you don’t.
Seasonal farm work has been done by migrant workers as far back as I can remember. Mexicans harvested and processed all of the vegetables and fruits in Michigan when I was a kid. It was that way long before you woke up because a nigger was in the White House.
All I know about the impact on the construction trades that I know about I learned in Macon, GA. The niggers either wouldn’t or couldn’t do much of it; the Whites would do the work, but sucked at it; and the Mexicans sucked at it too, but they worked badly for a lower wage than the dullard Whites were willing to fuck things up for.
Maybe if those semi-skilled Whites had been able to do a better job than the illegals were capable of doing then they could have still been competitive in the labor market.

Another fallacy is the notion Paul or whoever would get what they want on all issues. Paul or whoever would still have to have congress and the senate go along. Lots of high IQ whites have come from median orbiting parents. The white bell curve is nice, high, and tight. This is why all-white and mostly-white areas are all arguably pleasant places to live, regardless of their politics.

Well PBR there is dumb and then there is dumb, most folks aren’t dumb they are mentally lazy. Then there are a lot of White folks like myself of average brain power (IQ 106) who are cynical on politics across the board. They/ we/ me simply don’t trust anyone or anything I have to read between the lines on. Not stating your position clearly is to womanish in nature for me to respect. Or trust. My gut tells me, that is the instant, unthinking gut reaction of the vast majority of 100 IQ but mentally lazy White men and libertarians lay their message out in such a way it appeals mostly to intellectuals. Maybe they’d do better if they said something like ” you know what, I trust you to own a machine gun, smoke dope and run your life as you see fit; the other guys think your too dumb and violent to trust”.
I have my own issues with libertarianism which boils down to, I don’t see it it playing out like folks think because we are no longer the same nation or people as 1850 or even 1950, but that doesn’t play into why libertarianism is rejected whole sale. Leastwise I don’t think so
One thing I cannot see libertarians allowing us to do is limit who gets to vote. Which I think is reason number one we are in such a mess. Political reason number one that is. At one point, to vote in NC you had to be a White man over 25 ( I think), who was a member in good standing of his local church, part of the organized or unorganized militia and own property worth 300 pounds silver free and clear of debt. 25 was a man of middle years back then, and probably well into his adult maturity and wisdom, back in a time where folks put stock into such things. With the vote limited to such men and strict immigration control I think libertarianism would probably work ok, but in the here and now….. not so much. We were on this path of destruction once the idea of universal suffrage caught wind. And it wouldn’t be libertarianism with such tweaks, would it?

I always thought that the main idea behind libertarianism was that there should be no laws unduly restricting capitalist acts between consenting adults, ie. free enterprise. But after seeing all the nonsense in this thread purporting to be what Libertarianism with a capital “L” is all about I guess I was wrong about that.
I registered Republican right before the primary so that I could vote for Ron Paul because he was the only candidate who was against both of our foreign wars which are bankrupting the country and killing and maiming our young men for no good reason. I’ll vote for a third party candidate in the general election, as I have regularly for years, just in order to piss people off.
