With many racially aware, White Americans bemoaning the sorry state of National Review, Rush Limblob, Conservative Inc. etc, some are looking for White alternatives with a more populist, Left outlook. Some White people are even looking back with nostalgia to the virtually all White countries/societies of the Soviet bloc – not in the terrible Jew Bolshevik years of the 1920s-40s, but to the Soviet East bloc countries of the 1970s – 1989.
Good Bye, Lenin! (link to the movie trailer) is a 2003 German tragicomedy film, directed by Wolfgang Becker. It is a comedy about the fall of Communism in Socialist East Germany and the lingering nostalgia for an East Germany that no longer existed after the fall of the Berlin wall.
I travelled to East/West divided Berlin in 1985 and had a few very pleasant days on the Socialist Eastern side. I found East German people (now called “Ossies”) to be very nice, solid White people. Socialist East Germany wasn’t nearly as prosperous as West Germany – but nobody was starving, people had work and I saw few or no non Whites. Instead of having icons of the Judeo Christian Jews St. Peter and St. Paul – there were some posters of Jewish Communist Karl Marx and Tatar, part Jewish Communist Vladimir Lenin. That’s was life – something White East Germans learned to put up with, as a way of getting by.
The movie “Goodbye Lenin” is beautiful, romantic, very funny. It shows regular White formerly Socialist East German people being loyal to their families, loyal to their White neighbors, loyal to their White community. Yeah, it was the Socialist DDR – German Democratic Republic”, but it was “their” Socialist German Republic and it was very White. The “Ossies” were and are a unique White people – get to know them. I highly recommend this film.

Guilty as charged. Pat Buchanan is the last mainstream conservative to leave the building. Hometown conservatives suck eggs. It would be great to find some other alternative with left wing whites before we all end up killing each other, which is the way it’s going. If the left would agree to close the damn border and start deporting I might make some economic concessions. But to throw money at the State when it’s a wide open door is insanity. There is nowhere left to turn.

Iconic representations of the Saints are historically passed down in Orthodoxy. That means the first icons were faithful representations of how the Saints actually looked. In a couple of his speeches, I heard the late, great Jonathan Bowden make similar points. In one, he points out that while life in the Eastern Bloc countries wasn’t great, it did have the effect of “preserving” those countries, sort of freezing them in time, compared to the West, where modernism relentlessly rushes forward. While they were socialist in name, and the ideology did have its own effect on the traditions of those societies, the “frozen in time” aspect helped those societies keep a purer link to their own unique identities, whereas Western Europe has always struggled with the influence of the US and the world culture of corporate globalization that it exports.
Jerry is very much correct. As bad as Communism was, the Soviet Bloc avoided having to go through the neo-Marxist revolution that sweep through the West in the 1960s. This is why most eastern European countries don’t have explicitly ethnonationalist political parties like western Europe does because everyone from center-left to the far right in the eastern Europe views nationalism as basic common sense. If you go up to a mainstream politician from western Europe and tell him you want to flood his country with a bunch of third world immigrants he’s not really going to have any solid arguments against you even assuming he doesn’t think it’s a fantastic idea, but if you do the same thing to a mainstream politician from eastern Europe and tell them the same thing they’re going tell you that you are insane.
Goodbye Lenin should have won the Oscar. Instead, the Academy chose to immortalize the story of despair and suicide in The Lives Of Others. These movies are like night and day and Goodbye Lenin shines because it IS about love and loyalty.
I was living in Germany at the time the Berlin wall fell and I can attest the movie being spot on in it’s storyline.
I wouldn’t go so far as to say that loyalty had much to do with what went on there but the “Ossies” didn’t have much to divide them. The East Germans (many are Saxon) still resent the West and to a large degree I believe nationality and culture play a role in that animosity.
I myself remember thinking back then-Wow! now we have to integrate 17 million ex-prisoners of the DDR. Bummer! Yes, we Westerners couldn’t understand the ingratitude. What happened was a form of mutual rope-a-dope. It is no wonder the RAF was finding refuge in East Germany the whole time. The East sold out only to get closer to the reigns of real power.

Judeo Capitalism is the root cause of all our racial problems. The socialists, for the most part, didn’t have these issues. And the National Socialist had it not at all. The egalitarian left has hijacked socialism and perverted it into something it’s not.
Socialism only works in the white world, amongst a homogeneous people. I would not want the perverted forms of it such as practiced in England and the low countries, but a socialism where the truly disabled, the sick and the elderly are taken care of. No one should have to go without medical care due to class status. That’s a healthy socialism.

Markus- it’s not only in Germany. One of my brood, a little girl, was bought Barbie Dolls when she was littler. About 2004 or 2005, I began to notice that the ‘Anglo-Saxon’ look Barbie was beginning slowly to disappear, and that a ‘longer nosed, hooded-eyed’ “Jewish Barbie” (looking like some plastic clone of the ‘original Barbie of the late 1950’s- invented/designed by a Jewish woman for Mattell) was beginning to take her place. It was gradual, but was noticed even by my daughter by 2008. We moved on to American Girl Dolls, yet the Jewish Weltanschauung was at work there, as well. These dolls, supposedly representative of ALL Americans, have now also been ‘darkened’ in their ‘melanin’ content- the earlier Kristin doll (which initially had a skin tone as fair and rosy as my little baby) was ‘retired,’ (which is strange enough, unless you realize she represented the Nordic ideal of Beauty…) so that they could replace the White Scandic doll with…. a JEWISH SHIKSA doll, named Rubin! But before they could retire her, they also DARKENED the DOLL’s skin tone. I kid you not. My daughter’s doll is ‘tan’ compared to the same doll I looked at, about four years earlier, when I wrestled with the thought of paying $100 for a DOLL.
I broke down, but for a lesson. To teach my daughter her HERITAGE, before it, too, is ‘retired.’ (Think of that damned Swedish sex/rock/genocide video, ‘Mix it up’ and you know what I mean!!!)

Yes, of course – we at OD know that the NS state was much better for White German people than the DDR. But, my point was/is – whites need to try to make the best of things given the political/social realities that exist. And these East German DDR Whites did just that and their lives were OK – not perfect, but in all honesty , Whites do better when they have to struggle a bit/lot and we get in to trouble trying to make everything “perfect”.

The British actor (lead actor in The Full Monty) does a very credible job or showing Hitler’s great gifts and how Germans of all social classes were drawn to him.

Jack, I understood your point. However, personally, I prefer movies that capture the true Western spirit such as El Cid, 55 Days at Peking or Unconquered. In these films, Western man certainly struggles, struggles mightily for dear life against all odds, but prevails heroically in the end. Frankly, I’m too much of a romantic to embrace the notion of making the best of things given the current political realities and cannot even contemplate life under Soviet communism which, after all, was nothing more than a system of slavery. I’m much more than simply a white racial nationalist; I’m a white man of the West in the Revilo P. Oliver or Francis Parker Yockey sense of the phrase and will always be such until the day I draw my last breath. Anyhow, that’s where I’m coming from. I saw that mini-series years ago. The presentation of Hitler’s speeches, during the Starving Years, when spoken in English – well – it switched a light on. The early scenes are brilliant. The series falls apart at the end, when the JudenSlander takes over.
But his speeches? They rang true. I didn’t act on that switch for years. But that was the first switch, being flipped.
This is an excellent film – it is a shame that Daniel Bruehl went on to lend his considerable talent to Quentin Tarantino’s dismal Inglourious Basterds. Still, at least his character in that film was the good guy, despite being one of Those Evil Nazis!
What interests me is its popularity. In my experience (which is vindicated by its box office performance), it is by far the most popular modern European film among young Whites, along with Jeunet’s Amélie. Amélie also romanticises a pre-multiracial Europe. It is set in Paris of 1997, but the hordes have been whitewashed out of the landscape. There is little wonder that it, along with the French New Wave films, endures sustained popularity – its young European admirers, whether or not they are conscious of it, do yearn for better times when they embrace this White aesthetic.
If you speak to a young White cinephile with an interest in more than Hollywood poison, you can be sure that much of their intake will consist of modern films with a historical setting (i.e. an all-White cast) or classics from the years before the immigrant onslaught began (Fellini, De Sica, Truffaut and Kieslowski all remain popular). These will far outweigh films with mixed-race casts. I doubt many of these people are willing to admit to their implicit ‘racism’, but it is there, and they cannot deny it.
Speaking of ‘all-white’ film, bizarrely enough, the Powell-Pressburger films of the 1950’s just blow my mind for honest, clear, ANGLO white racial consciousness, even when they are set in France (Red Shoes). (Blow my mind because one of those two [P&P] was Jewish, but that was before Judensuperioritaet took over….)
But, “I know where I’m going” (with Wendy Hiller) and ‘A Canterbury Tale’ are three of my absolutely favorite films. “Black Narcissus” also shows how Anglos just CANNOT live outside of Europe. Deborah Kerr was astounding in that film. And it made me understand the degenerate nature of India and her polytheistic, satanic culture. (though I like Indian food buffets, go fig….)
Contrast that Kerr reality, with the ‘sweetness’ and light’ of overt Multicultis Rodgers and Hammerstein in Kerr’s other ‘Asian’ film, [King and I] and you get what I am talking about.
