As the summer approaches and we face the prospect of many terrible Black-on-White hateful crimes that are not “hate crimes”, flash mobs, Eric “My People” Holder’s (In)Justice Department persecuting our people, Jessie and “Rev. Al” doing what they do, it’s tempting to – “call a spade a spade” and use….
“the N word”.
Do OD readers think this is a good idea?
In my own experience – I can only remember publicly using the “N word” once in my life. When I was 14, playing one on one basketball with a 16 year old, Black, spoiled son of a famous Black Jazz musician. I was about 5 ft 2, 145 lbs, he was ~ 6 ft 1 – 220 lbs. I was beating him 14 points to 5 in a game to 15 and he refused to finish the game.
So I called him the “N word”. He proceeded to grab my index finger and twist it so to this day it points crookedly right. But, there was no further violence and for some reason, no one ever gave me any trouble about using “the N word” in this way. Perhaps it’s because most people didn’t like this spoiled rich Black kid who drove to high school in a Cadillac Seville and many Blacks students felt that a 6 ft 1 inch 220 lbs Black guy shouldn’t be getting decisively beaten by a 5 ft 2 inch White kid (I grew nearly a foot between my Sophomore and Junior HS years – I’m now 6ft 1). I do note that this “N word” has great power to shame and or enrage Black people.
One person who has made very good use of the “N word” is Black, African American comedian Chris Rock. Chris notes that there is a great division in Black America between:

Chris Rock thinks the N****** have got to go – which is something I think most OD readers would support. Just one minor problem – where would they go? Who would take them off our hands?
Hate speech laws are the similar to blasphemy laws in islamic countries: say anything negative about Allah and you will be executed. Say “nigger” in the UK and go to jail (if you’re not black). Say “the Holocaust never happened” in many EU countries and Canada and be fined and/or go to jail.
The word doesn’t really contribute to the discourse, doesn’t fullfill its original objective(defining blacks as low status members of society), and implies that there is a substantive distinction between disparate groups of blacks. If there is any such distinction, it is a temporary arbitrage.

Although the N-word obviously has its uses, there are still many racially aware but guilt suffering whites who refuse to use it, and it consider its use reflective of uneducated, arcadian under-achievement. We need to recruit those folks, not alienate them from their gentle first stages of true southern race enlightenment. (The coming mud-effluvium riots will no doubt speed their learning processes smartly along, anyway.)
As for myself, I’ve always used the term “savages”. No error, no mistake, still 100% on verbal target, and less blowback problems.
That being said, I will admit that “—-ing Nigger Savages” does have a nice traditionally southern ring to it, though.
It depends entirely on context. I wouldn’t use the word routinely though as it will set off a great deal of state enforced angst toward the innocent speaker.
I don’t use it because, frankly, I am a bourgeois snob. “Nigger” is a word used primarily by white trash, whom I despise almost as much as I do their Afro-American equivalent.
One other reason not to use it: it immediately negates anything you might have to say. You may be on the verge of opening the eyes of some DWL to the truth about race in America, but the minute you use the word “nigger” his or her mind is going to slam shut like an air vent in a fallout shelter. No matter how persuasive your argument may be, if you use the word “nigger” the DWL is going to mentally put the Klan hood or the Hitler mustache on you. Result: one more White lost to the cause.
Using racial slur tends to alienate many people who might otherwise be sympathetic or at least curious. I never us them publicly and I encourage Southern nationalists to avoid them.
I’m with not using it. It’s better to bottle up that rage for more productive and long term goals, than to vent that rage.

The only time that I would advise against the use of NIGGER is in your Color of Crime articles that are likely to be reprinted on sites that are ran by people who cannot accept that they are just preaching to the choir.

About 6 weeks ago, I’m working with this Jewish guy who was an industrial pipe-fitter, and in his late 40’s. One of the crews had brought a radio to the site, and it was on loud enough that we could here it from where we were working in the building. During one of those commercial/news breaks, there was some quick blip about George Zimmerman, and this Jewish guy starts going on about “These fucking NIGGERS” and “black NIGGER this and that” and “one these days we’re going clean these NIGGERS out of this place” just on and on as we’re working. I just smiled and said “no argument from me”. His tirade was loud enough that everyone on the same floor as us could hear it clearly. To be sure, all the crews working that day were all-white, and I think 3 or 4 Chaldeans.
The point is, EVERYONE says ‘nigger’. EVERYONE hates them. The only people who have any stupid, pussy, hang-ups about using that word, are white people. And WE have more reason to use it than anyone else, because WE have suffered the most for having them forced into our lives! Get over this self-indulgent high-road bullshit! It’s just a mask for an absence of backbone. Stop lying to yourself, and acknowleadge what your eyes and ears and instincts have been screaming at you all along. Toughen up, and call your enemy by his name.

It’s not at all limited to working class southern families. In fact, I’d say it’s ubiquitous. The real exceptions seem to be boogewah strivers: people 1 generation removed from White trash, White trash who think they aren’t White trash, suburbanites sensitive to being called White trash, etc. Good old boys from all socioeconomic strata say “nigger.”

Tiptoeing around, worrying that somebody might think you’re a low class White is one of the primary signals of being a low class White, IME. The more sensitive people are about being thought of as stupid, the less confident they are in their own intellect, etc. I couldn’t give less of a shit who thinks I’m stupid. The problem with using nigger is that it doesn’t resonate with non-racialists. It is a cue to stop listening and dismiss everything else you have to say.

Nigger is pretty descriptive of one sorry race of people, but I like to use African when discussing it with others. It isn’t a ‘mind shutdown’ term when speaking with the clueless, and if they try to correct you and say “African American”, well, then you can go into why the 14 amendment was passed unconstitutionally. Opens up other avenues to discussion, such as what’s been discussed here, and how the founders didn’t even consider them fully human, and how Father Abraham didn’t consider them equals, history of Haiti, African slavery…so on and so forth.
You might even get to the discussion on why the US Government itself is illegitimate.

I’m not sure about that. From what I’ve seen, when somebody finally loses their cool and starts loudly and angrily peppering their language with nigger and other epithets, people usually freeze and stare, as if transfixed. They seem in shock, but they don’t look away. I imagine that whatever they hear, they end up remembering word for word. Probably a bizarre side-effect of living in a pressurized, thought-controlled society.
Negro is non-PC and non-abusive. I use African-American in place of where you would normally find nigger to convey irony.

Amongst family members, I use the word quite frequently. I spend lots of time with older relatives and friends in their 60’s and 70’s, and for these older, rural Southwestern Georgia folks, the word “nigger” is simply part of their vocabulary.
