The White Nationalist movement is spilling a lot of ink right now discussing the cancellation of the 2011 Amren conference. Before writing another essay about the topic, I would like to frame this debate by asking a series of questions.
(1) Jared Taylor is being widely criticized around the internet on White Nationalist blogs and forums.
What are his critics on the internet doing to advance White Nationalism? Where is their conference? Where is their newsletter? Where are their television and radio appearances?
Is a sixty year old man supposed to do everything?
(2) The Egyptian riots are being broadcast across the Arab world by al-Jazeera.
Where is the White Nationalist equivalent of al-Jazeera, Russia Today, BET, or Univision?
(3) The loudest critics of Jared Taylor seem to be people who are in favor “rejecting the system.”
Were these people – the system rejecters – of any assistance to Jared Taylor and Amren in Charlotte? Were they of any assistance last year when Jeffrey Imm derailed the 2010 conference?
(4) Patrick Cannon is described as the Mayor Pro Tem of Charlotte.
Is there a pro-White elected official in Charlotte or North Carolina that the White Nationalist movement can appeal to?
(5) Are there White Nationalists in North Carolina even bothering to run for elected office in that state?
I am not referring to Glenn Miller for Senate campaigns.
(6) Jews have the ADL and AJC. Blacks have the NAACP and the Urban League. Hispanics have the NCLR and MALDEF.
Is there are a White equivalent to any of these organizations? Blacks and Jews started creating their own ethnic defense organizations over a century ago.
(7) North Carolina is an Upper South state. It is reasonable to assume that at least 20 percent of Whites in North Carolina are racially conscious. The majority of these people identify as “Christians” and “conservatives.”
Why hasn’t the White Nationalist movement succeeded in organizing the 1/5th of the White population (at a minimum) that agrees with us on our most important issues?
(8) According to the SPLC, there are a number of pro-White organizations active in North Carolina.
Why haven’t Whites in North Carolina joined the National Socialist Movement, World Church of the Creator, National Alliance, Confederate Hammerskins, Ku Klux Klan, or White Revolution?
What happened to the White Patriot Party?
(9) The CofCC has chapters in North Carolina.
What is preventing them from reaching a wider audience?
(10) Blacks and Jews work within the system to advance their anti-White policy positions.
How has pacifism and waiting for the inevitable collapse of the system worked out for us as a strategy? Doesn’t this lack of resistance only empower our enemies and create a self fulfilling prophecy of White marginalization?
(11) According to Gallup, the White majority in North Carolina describe themselves as “conservatives.” A healthy percentage of those “conservatives” dislike the NAACP, support our free speech rights, support restrictionist immigration laws, and many are even racially conscious.
What sense does it make to attack the people we need to win in North Carolina? Are we better off for distancing ourselves from our audience?
(12) Amren has spent almost twenty years educating the public in White racial consciousness. This has produced a few thousand anonymous, intimidated, disorganized converts to race realism scattered across North Carolina.
Shouldn’t we be educating White Nationalists in how to fight back? Isn’t that just as important as converting them to White racial consciousness? Isn’t action more important than rhetoric?
(13) There are probably a few thousand White Nationalists in North Carolina who subscribe to our ideas.
What is the use of spreading an ideology that no one in North Carolina seems inclined to act upon?
(14) I was at the 2010 Amren conference. There was a lot of talk there about filing lawsuits.
What happened to those lawsuits? What happened to the idea of creating a White Nationalist version of MALDEF or the NAACP Legal Defense Fund?
“Ideas” like that have been floating around for decades.
(15) The enemy seems to have all the power in North Carolina. They are organized to the precinct level in Charlotte. Negroes like Patrick Cannon hold elected office. They are well financed and have their own media outlets.
There are some White Nationalists who are ideologically committed to disorganization though. Does that make any sense?
(16) It sure would be nice if there was, say, a network of pro-White activists that could be tapped to stage rallies and mass protests in North Carolina. Illegal aliens seem to be able to do this all the time.
How is it that illegal aliens can rally across North Carolina at a month’s notice whereas White Nationalists seem to be utterly rudderless on this front?
(17) I’m sure that White Nationalists in North Carolina have posted thousands of radical comments on popular online forums like Stormfront and VNN over the past decade.
There is no shortage of blogs and forums that cater to this audience. I used to run one myself.
What has all that internet posting – all that “spreading of ideas” – ever accomplished for us in North Carolina?
(17) This is not the first time an Amren conference has been shutdown. Last year, Jeffrey Imm succeeded in cancelling Amren’s reservations at several DC area hotels.
I took it upon myself to confront and condemn Jeffrey Imm in the streets of DC twice. In February and June, we were the only ones there. This is only a small illustration of a larger point.
Why don’t White Nationalists join their own organizations? Why don’t they show up at their own events? How can we ever break the taboos against us by “spreading ideas” – safely, harmlessly, anonymously – on the internet?
(18) George Lincoln Rockwell predicted the “collapse of the system” would happen in 1969.
After 42 years, there are still White Nationalists who believe the inevitable collapse of the system will still solve all our problems. In 2008, I was told that the United States was going to collapse in a hyperinflationary downward spiral on the Weimar model.
Is it not sensible to assume that we need a backup plan or a better plan for advancing our goals?
(19) White Nationalists have spent the last 17 years spreading ideas on the internet.
Were we better off before the internet when David Duke was running for Governor of Louisiana? Why hasn’t using the internet as an education tool been as successful as we hoped?
(20) White Nationalists use the internet to educate White people in White racial consciousness. The internet has a scatter shot effect: it reaches isolated people who are geographically scattered across a wide area.
These people use the internet as a substitute for community. It often causes them to withdraw from their real communities, friendship networks, and kinship networks in favor of an ideological substitute.
In the most extreme cases, some White Nationalists become so alienated and ideological that they become estranged from their own family members.
Does this make White Nationalists more or less effective at converting ordinary White people to White Nationalism?
(21) I have two final questions.
Given the refusal of White Nationalists to organize in the real world and flex their political power in North Carolina, a state with favorable demographics for White Advocacy, why should we expect our situation to be otherwise?
What does it say about the course of the White Nationalist movement that we can no longer defend our most basic civil rights?
Is there something we are not doing that we should be doing? Is there something we are doing that we should not be doing?

These are indeed very good questions.
If we whites attempt to do anything to help other whites in any way (i.e. politically, legally, socially, etc.), we would immediately get smeared at by the so-called “leftists” of any stripe. There would be some attempts to sabotage our efforts one way or the other.
When blacks; mestizos; and Jews get together for their own political interests , I don’t see any attempt by whites to stop or sabotage them from demanding concessions from whites. Those ‘minority’ groups don’t get smeared at by the whites.

Some are suggesting that Taylor has a mental health problem, because he let his second conference in a row be shutdown. First time their fault, second time your fault type logic.
Taylor has a right to peaceful assembly, and Amren is so peaceful, they could be described as a “mommy prof” organization with lots of well sourced facts & statistics.
Taylor should be at the Charlotte Airport Shearton tomorrow, and Saturday raising hell, and demading his right to peacefully assemble. Get some of his friends, and subscribers together with signs, flyers, bull horns, the whole 10 yards! Tell White men not to stay at that or any Sheraton Hotel. In the early twentieth century, a negro could be lynched for looking at a White woman the wrong way in America. Blacks were once enslaved in this country. They were excluded by statute from public places in the Jim Crow South.
Yet somehow our “inferiors” managed to put together a credible ethnic defense organization over a century ago. They created their own newspapers, churches, and magazines. Blacks even have their own television channel.
At this very moment, there is an “African-American History Museum” being constructed on the National Mall.
These descendants of our former slaves are only 12 percent of the American population. They can run Jared Taylor out of Charlotte. Negroes have a congressional delegation in the U.S. Congress.

We should reflect upon that as our children learn about “Black History Month” in the integrated public schools.
First thinking that Mr. Taylor is a leader is doing him and us a disservice, he a is a dissident professor, leave it at that. I think he does alot but where he fails is that he takes “anti-racism” at face value, its a sick joke.
Expecting him to organize and lead anything politically is unfair to him. As for the NAACP it was organized and paid for by jews, till about 1962 they were led by jews.

The Institute for Historical Review owns facilities which could accommodate a conference. Mark Weber is a personal friend of Jared Taylor, so this could be easily arranged. But Taylor won’t take advantage of this ready-made venue as Mark Weber dares walk with his muddy boots on the hallowed ground of the Jews. The conference could therefore proceed, and in exactly the manner I’ve suggested, but Taylor will have none of it. How is this not Taylor’s fault?

David Duke did not run as a “white nationalist” in his race for governor-he ran a race-neutral campaign focused only on the issues of welfare and “affirmative action”.
Jared Taylor should hold his conferences in Turkey in association with Hans-Hermann Hoppe. If you’ve read Hoppe’s book, Democracy: The God that Failed, you know that Hoppe is far more un-PC than Taylor.
You can’t buy this kind of publicity. It’s a good thing from a publicity standpoint that the conference was canceled, since it would not have attracted nearly as much attention if it had gone on as planned.
What if Taylor organized getting shut down on purpose? The MSM isnt picking the story up. The story is only on these types of websites. I say this was staged, just like last years. Staged to send Whites a message, “Your White Civil Rights organizations will not be able to organize in public.”
We have never found a way to get past square 1. We can’t organize in the real world because of consequences, and we will never make progress in the real world until we organize. It’s a damn near insoluble problem.

According to Greg Johnson, Amren received a fee in return for the hotel breaking their contract. If true, I don’t see where filing a law suit makes much sense. The hotel broke its contract, and they paid for it. That is probably the end of it from a legal standpoint.

Again, free publicity. AmRen now has hundreds (maybe thousands) of new readers in the Charlotte area and elsewhere that they didn’t have two weeks ago.

Are you seriously denying that blacks are inferior to whites? I don’t hate blacks or think that they are bad people, but how could one look at Africa or Detroit and not regard blacks as inferior?
The Taylor bashing is nothing new. Rank and file WN’s have always hated Taylor’s guts.
One of the reasons why white nationalists have done so poorly is that most whites know that since blacks and Hispanics each make up only 13% of the population and Jews make up less than 3% then whites can always move to safe zones where there are few or no blacks, Hispanics or Jews. It is only when whites become a minority and there are no safe zones left that whites will embrace white nationalism.

Why concentrate on the most abstract tenets and concerns of our survival when we can’t even convey the most basic, like white’s a group in of themselves? A group who needs representation like any other.

In terms of #6, it used to be the KKK and we saw what happened to them. There are other organizations, and David Duke’s organization is EURO. In my opinion, I think we should do something to advance that one. Perhaps adjust the name of it to European American rights Organization. Or perhaps National Organization of European Americans.
In #20, he’s dead on about a collection of isolated people on the internet. This is a shame. We’ve got to have face to face interactions, and to stop being so socially intense face to face. We’re all acting like we’ve got psychiatric illnesses instead of like normal human beings. Our causes can’t attract “normal” people because we don’t present that way.
One of my closest WN friends in my area is a former liberal like me. There are some matters that “set off” most WN that don’t particularly both of us, and we think that reactiveness is a major problem. For example, most WN seem to go on and on about the gay issue and we don’t think it needs to be discussed. There are so many other issues that need focus and energy. Too much energy on homosexuality as a moral problem, when it’s clear to me people are born that way. I think the only expressed concern should be is that parents don’t want their heterosexual kids to be pressured into something that is not about them–and that’s the real, and practically only concern. Who cares about whether what two consenting adults do is moral or not? Why do we waste such time and reputations on things like that?
Our focus needs to be on equitable rights to jobs, safety, civil rights, natural born rights, the right to exist, the right to defense not just with gun ownership but to an open voice in defense of our genetic and cultural existence.
I’m so sick of everybody’s stupidity. We think we’re so smart, but the blacks and jews are winning. Nobody knows how to strategize for crying out loud.
And yes, I still criticize Taylor. He’s well known, has chosen to be well known, is independently wealthy, and is in a position to file suit publicly. Lone, isolated individuals are supposed to go through all that by ourselves ad risk being fired and blackballed employment-wise the rest of our lives???

As someone who was privy to these discussions last year, I suspect it has something to do with the fact that many of the speakers wanted to stay in a nice hotel with a bar and convenient access to a nearby airport.

Let’s say that every criticism of AmRen made here is correct. Do they not, by pointing out the inferiority of Blacks and Hispanics serve our purposes? Whether their attitudes on Jews and Orientals agree with some of the commenters here, are they not still promoting racial awareness? If that’s some kind of Jewish trick, it’s a damned dangerous game for them to play. Once people can speak freely about the Darks, they’ll soon be talking about the Darks’ enablers. Once Whites recognize that we’re apparently being beaten by mental weaklings, the obvious question is, Who is behind them? It won’t be hard to name the culprits.
True, “naming the jew” by itself doesn’t do much. It is my understanding what the jews fear the most is the organized political movement of whites for the benefit of the white people. That’s why there are many jewish infiltrators in political parties, ready to sabotage any effort to do something that most whites benefit from.
As HW so frequently points out, there are good hardright political things going on all over this country now. Things that WN’ists can exploit. Get involved with them, stop crying over AmRen. American Renaissance is a mild-mannered group. That are not political activists. They hold no rallies, street protests, picketing, or any such coercive tactics. They don’t do this sort of thing. It’s just a quiet “think tank,” small in number, with small funding.
It is their message which “terrifies” the lying opposition.
Last year, when the conference was cancelled due to death threats against hotel employees–threats from the opposition, mind you, there were a couple of attorney groups interested in making a case. But they were not serious. And they abandoned the matter.
As a free enterprise business, a competitive business, the practice of law involves economic considerations primarily. The chance for justice is entirely circumstancial.
The costs of a suit for American Renaissance is prohibitive. Last year, I did write Eric Holder about the incident, (also the ACLU), and sent a copy of the letter to my senator, Tom Coburn. Of course, Holder’s office did not even acknowledge the letter. Why would they? The DOJ is racist. Seven months later, I did hear personally from Sen. Coburn, who agreed it was a stark violation of First Amendment rights. I was later contacted by his office, and I asked for action to be taken, only to be told that none could be taken. They merely hoped Eric Holder would take action.
Muslims murderers can meet, and encourage murder. White people can’t meet to talk about their challenges. Liberals can’t, conservatives can’t. The enemies of America can, the patriots can’t. That’s the law of the land.
The vanguard is probably never going to be chided into rallying around practical goals.
They’re content with extreme rhetoric and dangerous looking costume theatrics because it is overall safe, mostly anonymous, but it feels edgy, so it is a release valve. The neurology of the brains are hard wired for this.
Problem solving and work-like commitments involve sacrifice. That isn’t a stressor release for the “vanguardist typology”.
It is probably better to work on mainstreaming things like ethnonationalism, separatism and HBD conservation through the more moderate right of all varieties. With an overtly ideologically hostile administration, there is much more sympathy now for moderates to move WNward than there is willingness for vanguardists to get practical and achieve some simple goals.

This is where the power lies. Make no mistake about it, I don’t believe these things on their own, especially winning elections can save our white race. Yet, they are tools to incrementally frame the debate in our favor. Towards a more racially conscious white majority that one day might (if we get involved) reach critical mass and explode with an outpouring of WN zeal and energy.
What matters now is winning. Whether we have to lie, cheat, steal, or kill we must be willing to do absolutely everything to insure a future for our white children. And what Hunter has been saying for quite some time now is that howling outside the political machine has got us nowhere. Maybe we should consider playing the game and exploiting the game in order to see any sort of meaningful results.
I’m engaged in the political process. I’ve worked for a few conservative non-profits and have worked a national campaign or two and I’ve influenced far more conservatives and how they now view the world through a racial lens then I ever could have via Stormfront or any other WN online medium. (Don’t get me wrong SF has it’s purpose along with all the other WN mediums, but it’s in certain contexts)
I’ve also built quite a robust resume that landed me those jobs and I’m in the process of being hired by an elected Federal official. Here is where I will gain influence, influence conservatives subtly, and expand my network to allow multitudes of other dedicated WN’s who want to make a difference.

Speaking of the FCC, the government would very much like to get rid of “net neutrality”. “Net neutrality” basically requires the companies who own the infrastructure to treat all traffic equally. Without “net neutrality” the traffic would be prioritized and give all the bandwidth to the major players. Traffic to sites like this would slow to a crawl. That would basically turn the internet into just another medium like cable or satellite where the big players dominate again.

If you are not face to face with many people and can talk to them and can explain every word you have spoke to make sure your meaning is understood, it is fast becoming futile to even try. Everybody is so obsessed with whatever they are pushing at the time, they only interpret everything through that lens. Hunter is so obsessed with “The Vanguard” that he thinks everyone is either talking about, in relation to, or against “The Vanguard.”

THAT is the kind of thing I am talking about, Hunter.
There is a perception that most of the people willing to “come out of the closet” are nuttier than a fruitcake and looking for trouble. And it scares most of the normal folks away. Most people just don’t want to be around that sort of thing. For things to change there will have to be a watershed moment in which the natural desire of people to work in their own interests overcomes their aversion to the folks who currently dominate the scene. When that moment comes, the vanguardists will be run out of town. Until then, the scene will be dominated by loonies shouting through bullhorns and a handful of sane people like Jared Taylor who are honestly trying to make a difference.
Bashing ‘vanguardists’ is useless for reforming them because if your criticisms are invalid you lose credibility, and if they are valid the dismissive and condescending tones only serve to invalidate and further alienate your targets. It might be useful if you consider ‘vanguardists’ to have no value and bash them to gain support from onlookers, but if someone is an onlooker here I think it’s safe to say they can understand the vanguard’s stance on some level.
All people in all times, places, and circumstances are always self-interested, and all beliefs, decisions, and political views are always based on this self-interest. The lack of widespread and explicit white racial consciousness and advocacy is not caused by the superior strategies of Negroes and Jewbeasts. Rather, it is because whites collectively still dominate the United States, and therefore it is in their individual self-interest not to ostracize themselves when it is still possible for them to live a decent life. Many of them simply are not educated about the anti-white threat because that threat masks itself so well and has top cover.
I think we all agree that racial consciousness is directly correlated to the degree of exposure to the enemy races and an understanding of the slippery slope our civilization is on? I consider ‘vanguardists’ to generally be the individuals who perceive the nature and extent of this threat most clearly. If they uncompromising, I say it is because they understand the damage that constant compromise has done to our race. If they are alienated, isn’t it because they are genuinely surrounded by enemies, even within the WN movement? If disorganized, can’t it be attributed to the destruction of WN organizations by the government that is supposed to represent them? Isn’t it possible that the system is genuinely beyond reform – that it’s momentum cannot be reversed?
The point I’m trying to make is that ‘vanguardists’ will not be won over without addressing with compassion the conditions that shape them.

You were talking about “normal, everyday” people and Hunter’s response indicated that he understood that.
Hunter agrees with you that most white people don’t care about white racial issues (until some aspect of these issues blow up in their faces, at which point they often start caring/thinking, but this simply isn’t the case for most whites) . He’s telling you that that’s at least partly because the sort of people who attempt to inform them about those issues are “white nationalists” — some of the grumpiest, most disagreeable, most alienated and most unsympathetic people you’ll ever encounter.
The average white activist treats his activism like it’s a skeet shoot: he demands total agreement with his position in two seconds flat, else you’re no good to him; you’re a “brainwashed lemming.” (Okay, I’m exaggerating, but not by much.)
